Instillation is nightmare and the directions are incomplete. If you buy, I recommend NOT trying yourself and hiring a professional. The spaces to put the wires for both the fan and the lighting fixture are very tight. When you try to put the canister on to hide the wires (ceiling connection) the wire connections come apart and you have to start over again. Unless you are lucky (the house wires and fan wires are aligned in certain same way) or a have done this many times before you will have a lot of trouble. In addition, the fan won't turn on until after have put the lighting feature on (last step). This makes testing the electrical instillation that much harder. By design, the fan blades must be installed before the lighting feature.

I am a licensed electrician that has installed thousands of ceiling fans. This was a nightmare I almost gave up and returned it. had had to make my own modifications to complete the installation. Don't waste your money move on to another ceiling Fan Company.

The fan looks great and is VERY quiet. Unfortunately its a bear to install. Attaching the blades was extremely frustrating - lining the screws up properly took forever. Attaching the light module to the fan was just as difficult - lots of wires and electronic gadgets to squeeze into an extremely small area. Hunter makes great quality fans and I'd buy one again.

The best news here is that HD shipped this item to my house very quickly. The rest is a review that describes a DOA product without the pictured remote and some bad customer service from Hunter. First off, let me give you some insight in case you opt to buy this doorstop of a fan. If, after you install it and then turn on the electricity at the switch - and you see the florescent bulb FLASH FOR TWO SECONDS - this product is DOA. Hunter could not confirm this when I called CS, causing me to spend at least two hours in addition to the 1 1/2 hour I had already spent, trouble shooting my electrical supply - which was perfectly fine all along. Unfortunately like many companies these days (2017), ppl who know nothing about the nuts and bolts of installing or trouble shooting their product are sitting at the phone banks. Myself, I had a woman who was probably 25-ish to take my questions. She knew absolutely nothing about this ceiling fan. In fact, she told me that if I 'fully assembled' the fan, including the glass cover to the light bulb, then I should call her back and she would help me trouble shoot the product. Meanwhile she could do nothing. Bwahahahaha! I pursued this with her for a minute, asking what info she could supply after the cover was installed that she couldn't supply right now and she just said, "You need to fully assemble the fan". Anyway, I went back to HD and purchased a GE ceiling fan (Treviso with and LED light) for $159 that I was able to assemble and install in 40 minutes flat that is stone quiet and has a much better remote, plus 5 blades instead of 4. HD was good about all of this, BTW, and I hold them no grudge. But I will never buy a Hunter fan again, a product I was told is actually owned by HD. Small world, eh? Don't buy this fan, that's my advice to anyone looking to purchase one.

Installation was quick and easy and it blends beautifully with my sunroom decor. It is so quiet I forget that I have it running, and it provides the perfect amount of light for my space. Definitely recommend this fan!

i purchased 5 of these babies at one time and got better at putting them together every time. The instructions aren't the best and some of the screws are poorly manufactured but I got it done pretty easily. They give you extra parts and screws. They look great are totally worth the little headache.

Nice modern look. Installed with a 36 inch down rod and it does not wobble. Quiet motor and meets our needs. The only criticism would be the bulb that is included is quite dim and it is not a standard type; so hopefully it will not be difficult to find a replacement and one with a higher wattage.

Nothing wrong about old fan; still worked great. But since we redecorated the master bedroom, it's brass color didn't match the new hardware so needed a brushed nickel fan housing. The fan was well packed and delivered ahead of schedule (thanks, Home Depot!). Instructions were fairly clear, but with a few minor issues : The wiring diagram only showed wire colors and no electrical symbols (could figure out Blk = hot, wh = neutral, but still...); an extra hardware packet (2 white rubber spacers (?) w/ 2 screws) was not mentioned or listed; no mention of when or how to use the balance kit; no mention of the light kit wiring connections or the best way to arrange the wiring harness to ease installation (see below) However installation was straightforward, quick & easy, at least for the fan itself. The lighting kit was quite difficult. It was very hard to attach the light housing to the fan while pushing all the wires into the small space available on this model. MAKE THE SCREWS LONGER. The wiring connections were made via a square molded connector, which is almost too large for the space. Combine this with a black 2 wire component of some sort (function unknown), also large and packing all the wires into the space while attaching the housing was hard. REDESIGN THE WIRING HARNESS SO THAT IT FITS INTO THE SPACE. Finally, the light itself is a hard to find 18W CFL (GU-24 base). Can't find locally. It's not very bright (1150 lumens) plus can't recycle CFL's around here. Overall the fan is high quality, looks great and most of all is actually whisper quiet at all speeds. All I hear is the wind of the blade moving.

I like the minimalist design of this fan. It runs quiet and looks great! I would have given the 'Quality' and 'Excellent' rating, had it not been for a little trouble with the installation. It has to do with installing the blades. The internal rubber bushing easily came off (I question if it was installed properly or worked its way loose in shipment) and I had to fish it out with some needle-nose pliers. The installation instructions could have been more descriptive and cautioned about this. Instead, because the bushing came off, it cause the blade to get stuck in the slot at the wrong angle. I slightly nicked the blade trying to get it back out. Nothing big enough to worry about returning and I'll probably be the only one who would ever notice.

The fan is an appropriate size for our space (10x20). The motor is pleasantly quiet and our installer had no problem with the installation. The 3-speed remote affords variable air movement. If you like the look, it's the fan for you.

I needed to replace an existing Hunter ceiling fan with a 24" down rod that died after 10 years of almost continuous operation. The Sonic fan was the replacement chosen due to it's modern design and the Hunter reputation of producing good quality products. Since my ceiling angle was only 24 degrees, I did not need the Angled Mounting Kit. It installed easy enough since the instructions were clear and straight forward. The new fan is very quiet and after balancing the blades, has no wobble at all. I found that choosing a ceiling fan comes down to 3 issues: looks, price and reliable operation... This fan seems to have all three issues well handled.

The instructions are poor by any standards. The parts bags aren't labeled clearly. What would normally be a 30-45 minute One-person job actually took 2-3 hours for two. The fan works fine, but it's no thanks to the clarity of the instructions. Moreover, replacement of the downrod was not covered in the included materials at all. YouTube helped, but wasn't specific enough. Thanks Hunter. Not buying a fan/light from them again.

I love this fan. I have always had Hunter fans but some reviews on other websites were not that encouraging as to the noise. There is not a bit of noise with this fan and it looks so sleek snd modern.

I have to say I don't like this fan quite as well as the one it replaced, but it came as close as anything I found and was more affordable than most. I would have liked the light to be dimmable and it's not as quiet as my other ceiling fans (or maybe the noise is just more noticeable since it's in the bedroom). The remote it nice, but it has a small light that flashes when a button is pressed and although it is a small light, it is incredibly bright in a dark room in the middle of the night. But overall, it is a nice fan and the above comments are more for information than a reflection on my overall opinion of the fan.

I really like the fan but it was more difficult to install than I would expect. Part of that is the instructions are not very detailed. Specifically, they don't tell you that you need to stuff the receiver inside the mounting bracket and make sure the antennae is hanging outside the housing. Also, the blades are difficult to get positioned properly without the grommets moving. As others have noticed, it is almost impossible to install the blades without scratching them.

Over the years my husband & I have installed a number of ceiling fans of several different manufacturers. NONE were as difficult to install and set up as this patience-trying product. I, the gopher-wife & helper, feel the design (the way the blades attach, the way the light kit has to be installed, etc.) is a homeowner's nightmare. I also believe that the manufacturing process left NO tolerance for installing screws for blades, light fixture, you name it. We had to resort to using a very small Allen wrench to line up the holes to attach the blades. The angle of attachment is also very cumbersome. . . . and that light cover! You had better hope everything works properly before you attach that "puppy". Getting it off requires patience, luck, and a veritable miracle. How do we know? After installing the 'reversible' blades maple side down & backwards from the white side down picture on the box, it seemed that the cut of the indented blades did not give as much air movement as we expected. Decision? Disassemble EVERYTHING to get to those blades after a time-consuming tussle to attach the light kit in the first place. That installation demands exact precision to line up those screws around the wires, nuts, etc.. from the fan housing. This is also the first fan we have installed that required balancing the blades. Our fan purchases have included fans in all price ranges, and yet none of them were out of balance. What has happened to the Hunter brand? Is the problem with their design engineers? the manufacturing process? If you choose this product, good luck and enjoy your trials and tribulations.

It's a very nice-looking, well-made, and fairly quiet fan, but we probably wouldn't choose it again if the need arose. Main reason: the remote is a flimsy plastic thing that mounts loosely in its holder, so turning the fan or light on or off, or adjusting the speed, lacks any kind of positive feel. Add to that the fact that it has no pull-chain or any other method of control and you realize that flimsy remote is a critical item -- too critical for comfort, in our view. And spare remotes are shockingly pricey (more than a third again the price of the fan). Our household has about 15 remotes for various purposes, and this one is by far the least substantial. We do love the fan; we just hope the remote never gets lost or damaged (or fails) while the fan is on, and we regret not thinking that through.

Very handsome and sleek design. We like the remote feature, especially how it has a little holder that you can mount on the switch cover. The light kit is tricky to install, with very little clearance. It is also worth noting that there is a special bulb that comes with the fixture, and it's the only kind that fits with it. The quality of the light is eh--not very warm. Overall, a good product.

The fan was installed by an electricin through the Home Depot. The fan is beautiful in design, runs very quiet.

Remote is included with the fan. Quiet running was a major purchase criterion. Excellent on quiet running!

I love the look, I love how quiet it is, I love the remote - looks great in our house and pushes a good amount of air. We had it installed by a professional, so can't comment on how easy that was for him, but once it was in, it performed perfectly.

The fan was a bit tricky to install; however, it looks great and is very quiet. I ordered this online and picked it up at the Home Depot store. The CFL lightbulb and glass dome were damaged and Home Depot would not give me replacements without having the whole fan removed and re-installed--a bad option. I called Hunter and they are sending me replacement parts for no cost. If you buy this fan and have any issues--go directly to Hunter- awesome customer service.

The fan is modern and sharp looking. I love the look of it. It is not very quiet when on the 2nd and 3rd speeds. Also, it only works using the remote...the wall switch is now useless. But I loved the look so it is what it is....
