Good quality, perfect fit

Bought an Intermatic timer for a water heater. in less than 2 years of use, it failed. The replacement part is exactly like the previous one, so I wonder how long this will last. The system for placing the on and off timer devices I feel should have been redesigned.

Purchased 2: 1 each for 2 water heaters. Both failed! First lasted 1 year. Second lasted 4 years. Timing clips determining when heater is on/off not stout enough to mechanically flip timer's switch on/off. Result: clips slip & don't function. If clips tightened to hold in place, then motor fails. When timer comes up against clip (with clip tight), motor stalls before flipping switch. Over time, timer motor wears out due to repeated stalling and overheating. Have found no acceptable replacement.

In the 28 years I've been using this type of timer I've replaced three units this is my third one. The product runs quiet and it's easy to set up the only problem I have with it is the pins come loose so you have to check them every so once in a while and tighten them back up.

The store help was great and the installation was easy.

Changing out my old timer for this one was one of the easiest DIY home repair jobs I’ve ever done. If your timer motor goes out, just buy this and replace the whole thing. It’ll be minutes of work and all you need is a screwdriver.
