Good functional real hardwood cabinet
Very sturdy cabinet. Real wood makes this a more authentic and functional piece. The back of this cabinet is wood panel. I wish it was real wood like the rest of the cabinet. There were no designated holes for the back panel. That would have helped with aligning it to the back of cabinet properly. Also was missing the washers shown in the instructions to screw in back wood panel. One of the doors keeps sticking at the bottom even though I drilled it in the hinges at the designated holes. Because that one door keeps sticking, the cabinet leans forward when opening it. Anchoring this cabinet to the wall is necessary. The wood took the paint color I used pretty well. I would purchase this item again and make alterations based on what I found this first time around.

Beautiful Wood Cabinet
I am a 76 year old woman who put this together by herself and added wood touches (purchased at Home Depot) to the cabinet. Top cabinet door inserts were easily cut out with a jig saw and framed out as well a decorative handles added. I am more than pleased with this cabinet

Well packaged to prevent damage during shipping. Assembly is not difficult but due to the weight it helps to have a second pair of hands nearing the end of putting it together. Even though the screws have pre-marked (pinholes) for the hinges alignment can be tricky. I rested the doors on some of the packaging to support the weight while attaching the hinges. One of the doors needed some extra space at the bottom. I gained the needed clearance by loosening the bottom shelf attaching bolts, pushing down on the bottom shelf and wedging a piece of cardboard between the bottom shelf and the door. I retightened the bolts and removed the cardboard. Clearance problem cured.
We painted ours since the "hardwood" is sections of wood "finger jointed" together.
Overall we're happy with our purchase.

This was my second purchase of an International Concepts unfinished cabinet from Home Depot. They are good solid wood products that look very nice when the project is completed. They do take some work to put together and need 2 people for that. The rubberwood has an odor to it that is quite strong, and does not go away if the cabinet is finished with oils. Polyurethane is more effective on the odor. Painting would probably cover the odor even better, but that would lose the nice look of the natural wood. The cabinet is not very deep and the doors have some weight to them, so the unit can tip forward easily if not attached to a wall behind with the included hardware or some other "anti-tip" connector.

I would have given a much higher rating if I had been sent the fixings to assemble the unit, the unit itself looks good (4 stars for the quality 5 if I’d had any kind of hardware) but very poor customer service from Home Depot, they were not interested in helping me in any way, won’t buy furniture from them in the future.

I liked that it was a hardwood and not pine. It took longer to put together then I was expecting and the doors do not align with each other—we need to spend a little time getting that the way it should be. We had to drill the predrilled holes because they weren’t deep enough and the wood is extremely hard. I’m overall pleased with my purchase.
