It took a few tries to get my John Deere delivered to me but Home Depot made it up to me. The turning radius and cut is superior to what I’ve had in the past. I’m so glad I went up to the S140 over the S130 the extra blade has made a big difference on the cut quality and time saved over two blades from S130.

Defective Tire. No help. 35 days after purchase.
Bought new last month from HD website. Delivered May 10, 2023. Used 3 times and it was great. Yesterday went out to my shed and found the front left tire completely deflated. Tried to put air in and saw the valve stem was completely detached from the tire. No tear or anything, just detached. Called Home Depot, rep (Denisha) and manager (Rich) said absolutely will not help at all, either service-wise or covering the cost of transport to service center, because I am at day 35 from the purchase.

My only criticism is I would prefer the mowing deck could raise higher than than 4 inches. I have areas on my property were the growth can get out of control and if I miss a cutting day especially in the spring season a 6 inch would be better. Other than that this mower performs like a dream.

The tractor was delivered and unfortunately the battery was defective and dead. No lights working and engine would not even turnover. I am bewildered how this could be delivered to my house in this condition and not tested prior delivery. John Deere has a better reputation than this and even Home Depot. HD customer service at the store swapped out the battery, but not without a lot of hassle on my end and time spent researching and resolving the issue. The S140 Tractor itself runs perfectly after resolving the battery.

Great delivery but battery was missing
Truck brought the mower out. That all went well. Truck left. I unwrapped all the tape protection. Lifted up the hood and no battery. Call the store. Three hours later a battery shows up. I installed it myself and then got on the mower. Turned it on and got familiar with it. It runs very quiet and quick. Mowes well. Pleased so far. Only mowed a few minutes with it.

The tractor itself is what you would expect from John Deere. Home Depot on the other hand was a terrible experience. The tractor was delivered with a dead battery. When I called customer service where I had bought on-line, they referred me to a store that they pulled it from as where I needed to go talk to. When I spoke to the store manager he told me to go to my local store to swap out a battery where it would be waiting at Service Desk. When I drove all the way down there they had no idea what I was talking about and would not swap out the battery. I had to buy another battery and was told basically I’m on my own…. TERRIBLE customer service model where the parent company passes issues to the Stores and they stores do not want to deal with it.
