Kobot does not goe back to his station for recharge as advertised. He often gets stuck somewhere and beeps until someone helps him. In his defense our apartment lay out is weird and manuvering around things is complicated which might be why he does not get back to his station. Once we resolve the thungs he gets hung up on he should be fine. Meanwhile he is picking up dust and pet hair like crazy and needs emptied regularly.

Hair got tangled in the brushes and it kept going to the same spots over and over so it took forever to do all the areas in my house. Quicker and less hassle to run my cordless Hoover.

The Kobot Slim Series Robot Vacuum in Gun Metal with Scheduling is like having another kid in the house. The only difference is that the Kobot can be turned off. When it runs in a normal room, not a square room with nothing in it, it gets lost and stuck. Then it beeps at you and you need to go free it which can be difficult and frustrating when it is under the bed for the third time in the same spot during the same cleaning cycle. For this very reason it could never be ran unmonitored. In order for the unit to "relock" it needs 2 ft unobstructed clearance on each side of it. The scheduling part of it works great, we set it up and it ran for the time we had it set for every night. It does a decent job of picking stuff up in its path, but it does skip a lot of areas. It seems to take the same route every time unless you add different obstacles for it to bump into. It does not learn your house it just bumps into everything. The kids love chasing it around watching it bump into everything helping it to get unstuck.

I wanted to use my Kobot Slim Series vacuum for a bit before giving it a review. I've never owned a robot vacuum before and have long wondered whether one would be a worthwhile purchase for my needs. Speaking frankly I have always felt that these electronic frisbees on wheels were nothing more than and expensive gimmick. Average prices start at well over $300 and top of the line models cost close to $1000! That's crazy - and I doubted that any robot vacuum work half way as well as my conventional upright. I've never even owned a vacuum that cost more than $300. I've had it a month so here are my thoughts. I have a 1200 sf semi open first floor plan with an office and bathroom (totaling 180 sf) that I close the doors to when I Kobot the house. No pets. It is quieter that my conventional Hoover upright and my Shark Rocket. The first couple of times it ran at night I could hear it from my upstairs bedroom when it ran downstairs but it did not keep me from falling asleep. It is a little noisier in the kitchen on LVT floor tiles than on hardwood or carpet in the other rooms. It did a good job of vacuuming up the test stuff I purposely placed in around the house to see how well it performed but it took a couple of runs to get it all. I have learned that it does not completely vacuum the downstairs on one charge. I have it programmed to run every other night and I am happy with the results.. On a whim I ran it upstairs to see how it did with the stairs. Glad to report it figured out where they were and how to avoid going over the edge. Initially I was emptying the refuse cup after each cleaning but now I do it weekly. I have it programmed it to run every other night. Here are my thoughts. It works but not to the extent that you will never need to vacuum again. It is much better at maintaining a clean floor than cleaning an unvacuumed floor from scratch. It has some trouble negotiating the wooden thresholds into my bathrooms. It is occasionally defeated by the skirt on my sofa (can't scoot under it to clean - sometimes but not always though). It does much better in my living room (large and open) than in my dining room (lots of table and chair legs). I like it. Especially at its $200 price point. I even think I'd pay a little more for one with more sophisticated capabilities should this one ever fail.

This Kobot robot vacuum looks nice. The instructions are very easy to follow with some assembly required. It has two brushes that push debris towards the center of device. It picks up very well only drawback is trash compartment fills up to quickly. If you have people with long hair in the house you will have to clean central beater often because unit stops and beeps letting you know there is a problem. Ours has a hard time finding the charging station when battery gets low, which it may not be capable of doing that on it's own.
