Good, but with a fatal design flaw
This toilet worked great till it got blocked . The drain hole at the bottom is rectangular (not round as in most WCs), while plunger cups are invariably round and don't fit. So much more hassle, time and expense is involved in fixing it.

Hi SandyM, this is Laura with Kohler Co. I am sorry your toilet was blocked. The trapway design is intentional to maximize bulk flushing. A plunger with an inner throat is the correct tool to use on your toilet. There are a number of models available through home improvement and hardware stores. Here is a link to a popular Korky brand plunger: https://amzn.to/3H7MQKd Please contact customer service at KohlerCustServ@Kohler.com should you need additional assistance. We are glad to help. Beautiful, but disappointing
I absolutely love the look of the toilet, but the flushing mechanism in the tank is horrible. My old toilet flushed completely with a quick push of the handle. In order to get a complete flush with this toilet, the flush handle has to be physically held down several seconds. If this is not done, only some water enters bowl and swirls around without flushing down the drain. It also takes longer to refill the tank. I checked Kohler's instructions for cleaning refill part, but my unit would not "push down" to release the part that might need to be rinsed. I am extremely unhappy with the flush and refill mechanism. Old fashioned "flapper" works much better.

        Love our Kohler
We watched instructional toilet installation videos on You-tube to do the job ourselves. Wasn't that difficult. We used a thicker wax ring with flange. Took awhile to screw down the three tank bolts to toilet but all went well. Great flush.

          Assembly Required, Wax Ring Included
This was ordered online and shipped to my home without issue. This was a fairly straight forward install for this toilet. This toilet comes with everything you'll need to swap out a toilet. it has the hardware to secure the toilet to the floor, as well as a standard sized wax ring. A soft close toilet seat is also included. I did have to go to my local home deport to pick up a new water line as the one for the previous toilet was 4" too short, so anticipate that. There is not a lot of water that is inside the bowl so it does use less water when flushing. the tank fills fairly quietly due to the design of the innards so late night flushes will not wake the family. All in all this was an easy install and looks great in our bathroom.

          Love Kohler!
First of all, I want to say that I love Kohler products. I have installed a couple of Kohler toilets in my home and love them. This latest acquisition is going in my daughter's basement bathroom. I helped my son-in-law finish their basement, and the next project is to finish the basement over Christmas vacation. This fixture has a non-standard 10 in. rough-in, which is what I was looking for. My daughter likes the water tank style. This will be a great addition to the bathroom. It has an elongated bowl, is chair height, and is clog free. It has an economical 1.28 gallon flush. It was very well packaged, and even comes with a slow-close seat and lid.

          Excellent Toilet
I got this toilet to replace an original 60 year old round toilet. It looks beautiful in the bathroom. Because of the drain placement in my older home, the toilet does sit out about 5 inches from the wall, but that doesn't bother me. The flush is so quiet and quick. And the flush is strong and no need for double flushes. It has a great, comfortable higher seat height, which is great for someone with trouble sitting down or getting up. The toilet comes with a very nice slow close seat.

Easy installation with included hardware and it looks great. We are on septic so appreciate the fact that it's HET (1.28 gallons per flush).

Missing rubber piece on toilet seat/board. No QC?
Purchased 3 of these for our remodeling, so far the first one is missing of the 2 plastic pieces that attached to the board (see picture). I searched everywhere inside the box and can't find it. Hopefully the next 2 are going to be better.

Nice toilet but needs better quality assurance
Purchased two - one was perfect but the second had very low water in the bowl because the refill tube (part K-1248134) was kinked. Kohler shipped me a new one, but it took several days. Factory should not have let it ship with this problem.

Being that my toilets were both the standard height water guzzling toilets of old, anything halfway decent would be an improvement but so far everything is going well. My plumber did the install on both and he had no complaints. I initially wanted a dual flush for my bathroom but my plumber pointed out this toilet was just as good for water conservation. After that I ordered another for my master bath and I am very pleased with both plus they look so darn good. It has a very quick flush which is strange at first, still a little odd to me, but I keep reminding myself of how old my original units were. With my old toilets you had to grab the handle but with these the gentlest push of the handle does the job. My mother was so impressed with the powerful flush and the quick water refill that I’m thinking of upgrading the toilets at her house as well. As for the seat, I don’t like the light weight plastic but I’m guessing that’s needed for the slow close feature which by the way is a very very slow. I may end up switching the seat out but I purchased this toilet for the size, both of my bathrooms are very small, height, and low water consumption, not the seat. Granted I’ve only had these toilets for a few weeks now but I’m not anticipating any issues. Great toilet with a great price.

Bought and installed one this evening. The toilet itself seems just fine. Mine came with the elongated seat that doesn't match the round bowl. Quality QC Kohler!! Now I have to try and find another seat that fits this darned thing.

My Kohler Highline Arc works well with a powerful flush. I gave a four instead of 5 because it was missing a part.
The toilet was rather easy to assemble. All parts were in the box with the exception of a small insert that fits under the toilet seat for stability. It only had one. I have no idea how to order this little plastic piece that was missing. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the performance of the toilet and it's height.

                    water level in bowl
I recently bought two toilets and replaced my old ones. Toilet is good with size and height. only one problem I run into was toilet bowl water was too low. adjusted lot of stuff still the same. Found out interesting problem with small pipe. I am attaching the picture, if someone has the similar problem you can can benefit. you can see in picture the pipe came with Kohler tilted 90 degree and choked the water. I replaced the pipe with the another pipe from my old toilet. fixed the problem.

Happy with the toilets but wish there were instructions related to the flow regulator in the fill valve
I just installed 2 of these toilets and overall they have been great so far. When installing the first one I noticed that the tank filled very slowly (like 7 minutes) after flushing and the bowl barely had any water in it. If I turned up the main water valve to the toilet, the fill valve would stop filling and make a loud howling sound. After about 2.5 hours of troubleshooting I discovered on the Fluidmaster website that there is a rubber flow regulator in the bottom of the fill valve that you can simply remove with needle nose pliers. Maybe this is common knowledge to some but it wasn't to me. Had there been a simple note and/or diagram about this in the instructions it would've saved me a lot of time and frustration. Also, on this flow regulator in the picture there wasn't a plastic piece on the end like there was on the other toilet, maybe that's why it stopped filling when the water pressure was increased. I assume this plastic piece keeps the regulator from pushing into and blocking the fill valve pipe. Either way, I removed both and the toilets work great! One area that could use improvement are the 3 screws/rubber gaskets that attach the tank to the base, these seem like future leak points and took a little coddling to make sure they didn't leak during installation.

I'm very pleased with this toilet!! Its the perfect height, not too high, not too low. The height of my last toilet was too high!! I purchased online and picked up in store. It also comes with a slow close seat. It has a nice sleek look in my bathroom.

                        where is the quality control?
Purchased this toilet and do like it very much, however after unpacking I noticed a chip on the underside. That area was glazed like the rest, so that chip was created during manufacture. I did not see any other issues that would cause problems, so I did install the unit. Works just fine and looks good, but I question the quality control. Not American craftsmanship.

Buying this brand was mistake. Just had it installed a month, Wax ring was missing, I had bought extra wax ring so used that when installer was installing the toilet. Flush keeps on running, so now have the lid of the tank of, to raise the floater (cylinder with red cap) manually by hand, otherwise water keeps running. Quality of the potty is so poor, the stuff sticks to texture in the potty, does not wash out when you flush it. I thought cheap toilets would do that, Have cheap toilets in other bathroom, have no issue of stuff sticking in the inside of commode. Very Disappointed with Kohler. Ihad expected the brand to stand for a quality, this gave out within one month, and to replace the tank would cost me now to pay for installation as I am not handy to fix this kind of things. Don't know what to do. Never again would consider Kohler, and have neighbor planning to do her bathroom, will tell her to not get Kohler. Also one more thing Home Depot should not put their commodes so high up on display where a customer cannot see the shape and inside depth of commode. It helps to see the actually toilet on the floor to scale the layout or visual.

Hi masterbath, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm very sorry to hear your Highline Arc toilet is constantly running after a flush. This is likely caused by debris that has gone through your water line and has gotten stuck in the fill valve. It can happen after a new toilet is installed or the water is shut off to the toilet for an extended period of time. It can also occur if there is any sediment that has gone through the water line. We would suggest flushing out the fill valve as this will most likely eliminate this problem. To view an instructional video explaining how this can be done, please follow this link: https://youtu.be/oD0HETCc-OQ. If you are still having an issue after flushing out your fill valve, please contact us directly at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We are happy to help with your warranty. -Sarah S. LOUD FLUSH WITH A GURGLE PLOP PLOP PLOP SOUND AT THE END
You can hear this thing GURGLE AND PLOP PLOP PLOP each time you flush it. I bought two of them and they both sound the same and are incredibly loud-sounding when you flush them. Also, I had to buy FIVE OF THESE before I got TWO of them that didn't leak and would sit flat on the floor and not rock. None of these things were installation issues. I finally got two that sit flat and don't leak. The quality control of this toilet needs some serious review by KOHLER. I even tried different production dates in my choices to see if that would make a difference. And say Made in Mexico. Not the quality that the KOHLER name used to be at all, nor Mexico. I wish I could add a video on here so you could hear how LOUD they are when then flush. Like the box says- they PLUGE THE WATER DOWN very well. What they don't say it comes with THE SOUND AS WELL OF A CLOGGED TOILET BEING PLUNGED EVERY TIME YOU FLUSH THEM. Not so nice.

Hi LoudSounding, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm very sorry to hear your Highline toilets are flushing with too much noise. When flushed, a toilet with a canister flush valve will be just perceivably louder than a toilet equipped with a flapper flush valve. However, the tradeoff is that toilets with a canister flush valve will have better performance including greater water efficiency. A canister flush valve is quieter than an assisted flush, featured in many commercial toilets. If both toilets are making a gurgling noise, we would suggest checking the rim feed tube and water level within the tank. The water level should be at the "water line" marked on either the back wall (inside) the tank or on the canister itself. The rim feed tube should be connected at both ends; connecting the fill valve to the flush valve. If either end is disconnected, it can be pushed back into place. This is my 2nd. My 1st was leaking every time it was flushed, took it apart to find a crack under the base. My 2nd now is leaking but it’s sporadic. ProContractor, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with your Highline Arc toilet. We would like to make a few suggestions that we feel will improve the conformance of your toilet. The chain connecting to the trip lever should be taut. If there is any slack, it should be tightened to remove the slack. The water level can also be checked. The water level in the tank should be at the water line which is marked on the inside back wall of the tank or on the flush valve. The refill tube can be checked as well. It should be connected at both ends connecting the fill valve to the center of the canister valve. If either end is disconnected, it should be pushed back into place. Please also ensure there is water coming out of all of the rim holes around the bowl when the toilet is flushed. If the issue continues once the above has been verified, please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon! - Jessica P.
