Man, it is hard to find a cast iron tub that’s deeper than 14”. I got excited when I found this tub and I was not going to settle on a cheap, dull acrylic tub that would likely flex down the road. I was tossed between this and the American standard Cambridge which wasn’t cast iron, but was the “next best thing” that I could find and half the weight of cast iron. I was ok buying either brand, but the americast tub was weeks out for delivery and I couldn’t wait with my renovation timeline. I’m excited to have this one installed, but I’m still debating on one thing.....the tub has a very wavy texture to it. I have read this in other reviews. I’m still tossed on keeping it for this reason, but I’m hoping if I do keep it the front apron won’t look so wavy when installed in the alcove. I guess the waviness is the price you pay for having a sturdy tub that will last forever. I guess you have to take the slight imperfections in the look if you want cast iron. I also agree with other reviewers that it should be packed better. It’s secured on a pallet, but the porcelain is exposed and it’s just asking for trouble. Thankfully mine seems to have arrived damage free once we looked it over. It’s just the waviness that’s bothering me a little and for the price, I’m not sure I will get over that and need to make a decision fast. Also, like other reviews, this is heavy!! Be prepared to have an army to lift this bad boy!

Remove your fiberglass or acrylic tub and replace it with this tub if you want long lasting luxury. Since the tub weighs 350lb the best way to install is to send the tub to the store and hire a professional moving company that specializes in this to haul it from the store and into your bathroom.

Looked good online but not as deep as I thought. I ended up with the Archer tub from Kohler which is much deeper and has a better design.

Great looking tub. Would recommend this tub. Extremely heavy 351 lbs. Needs minimum of two people to install. A dolly was used to bring into bathroom then a rope was used to lower it down from a standing position to the concrete slab. The rope was placed around a cross bracing stud and then slowly lowered. Cast iron is definitely the way to go, will last a life time.Just make sure everything is fine with the unit as we had originally ordered a different Kohler tub however when it was finished the tub was not sprayed well and you could see dark areas that were very visible even in poor lighting. Had to reorder the Mendota as the other was on back order. Glad it worked out this way as this was a brighter white finish then the other tub.Stuck with Kohler because I have a cast iron farm sink and cast iron shower base that I have been happy with. Just remember any company will have products being shipped that are below standards but that is not the norm for most companies, so I definitely was going to stay with Kohler.Home Depot was great through the whole process of reordering and getting it there quickly. The wait was well worth it.

I love this tub I replaced my fiberglass big difference.

Tub is fine, but there were a couple of spots in the enamel where it appears a bubble popped in the baking process leaving divots. Looking into having them repaired rather than returning a 350 lb tub

Even though didn’t come in on time it looks to be exactly what I wanted.

I rated this poor because it didn't even make it out of the store because I immediately returned it. Maybe I'm being too picky but due to the cost of this tub I feel it should of gone through better QC from the factory. The non slip pattern wasn't lined up correctly and caused the lines to appear 'swayed'. Also the white coating around the bottom edge wasn't applied thick enough and you could see a dark black tint.

This is an ideal tub! Dimensions are perfect, the back support is really comfy, the only thing to consider is its weight.

Everything was great with this tub. The tub came in with no flaws. The people at Home Depot helped load it by putting it on a flatbed cart, and wheeled it up our trailer ramp. To unload it, we put a thick piece of cardboard on the front of the tub, and then strapped two square furniture dollies to the side. We tipped it on its side and rolled it into the house and first floor bathroom. Luckily there were no stairs involved. Three average sized guys were able to get it off of the furniture dollies, get the crate off, and tip and slide it into place.

Like many others, I am unhappy with the appearance of the tub. I have another Kohler enameled cast iron product in my house and that is why I was willing to pay the money for this tub. However, the dimpling of the side walls is VERY visible even when you are looking straight at it. If you order one I would highly recommend that you be prepared ahead of time that you may need to return it. I was hesitant based on the reviews, but again based on my past experience I decided to roll the dice and now I regret it.

I had done a great deal of research and knew that this was the tub I wanted/needed for my bathroom remodel. I was pleased with the fact that it arrived within a week - especially since I had originally ordered from a different supplier and it had simply disappeared. There was a record of it leaving a warehouse in Georgia, then nothing. This loss added two weeks to my remodel timeline. It was at the point that nothing else could be accomplished until we had a tub. I had seen some older reviews of this tub that indicated the porcelain on the tub had a wavy look to it. No problem like that with mine.

The finish of the this tub is horrible.. like othet reviews have said, kohlers quality isn't what it used to be.. Home Depots Customer service rep Brandi was great and did everything she could to make me happy..

This tub is beautiful and solid, will last forever, way better then any acrylic or fiberglass or steel tub by far no matter what anyone says you cannot beat a Kohler CAST IRON TUB !! It's worth the money, trust me do your remodel right the first time

This is a beautiful tub, built to last a lifetime. Heavy, so get help moving it into the house. Great tub and perfect step in height for my short legs but still deep enough to cover me and then some.
