We bought a toilet with this system included. Big mistake. Eats batteries; tried rechargeable and regular. Also flushes on it's own and when the batteries get low it flush half way allowing the water to run continuously until you manually fix it. Worse part is this toilet does not have a manual flush mechanism even though the box and wording advertised as dual flush function. We are stuck with a piece of junk.

Hi MacTruck, My name is Sarah from Kohler Co. We are sorry to hear you are having issues with your Touchless Flush toilet phantom flushing. We would suggest checking a few things. There should be nothing on the tank lid such as tissue boxes, wet wipes or decorations. These can cause the sensor to activate. The chain attached to the wheel should be removed of any slack. There should be no metallic or damp items within 10" of the sensor. If steam is present when the unit activates, we would suggest improving the venting in the room, dampness can falsely activate the sensor. If the touchless module or tank lid is wet, the condensation could cause the sensor to activate. We have a foam kit to prevent condensation on the tank lid if this is the issue. If you are still having problems, or need the foam kit, please contact our Customer Service team. We have also redesigned the battery holder and sensor assembly to eliminate this issue.     Does not work correctly....
    One of the good points of this it's very easy to install. However, this does not flush or stay open long enough to flush solid waste. Which I have tried to adjust the chain on this, still same with no good luck. Am I missing something or is their away to slow down the motor on this?

      used this to replace the one my contractor broke switching toilets from one room to another. My husband hates this toilet, because you need a supply of batteries nearby. When the battery gets low, the water continues to run. more than once I've turned the water off to the toilet , so I could replace the batteries. I'm neutral on this type of toilet.

        Pure garbage. Works for a short while, then eats up batteries and dies. Then top sensor closer must be replaced. Watch out if you bought the toilet with no hole to add a manual flush leaver. You are out of luck!

        Do Not Buy. Terrible Product.
        When replacing all the toilets in my home (5), I replaced all the manual levers with this product. Upon installation, two worked properly and the other three had to be exchanged. Of the three new exchanges, only one worked and two had to be exchanged again. And then finally all worked. After two months, one unit now flushes approximately four times a day on its own with no one in the bathroom. Another one, stripped it's gears and just runs continuously without flushing. And a third only half flushes; so the bowl won't flush completely and it just leaks water never filling up the tank (even with brand new batteries). I really wanted these to work which is why I've stuck with it so long. I assumed a large reputable company like Kohler wouldn't put out such a faulty product. I was completely wrong. I'm off today to find replacement alternatives for these "Touchless Flush" devices, which should be called "Flushless Flush" devices instead. Listen to all the bad reviews and save yourself the headache!

            Don't by this! I bought the whole toilet with the touchless mechanism built in. I have had it for about 9 months. After about 3 months, it started flushing by itself. Through out the day, at night, randomly, sometime several times in sequence. Really annoying, since the toilet is in our master bedroom. Wastes a lot of water, and because I have a water softener, have had to fill up salt more often too. Since it was a complete toilet with this mechanism, I could not convert to manual flushing. I am living with the top off, and pulling the chain from inside to flush! Waiting for a reply from Kohler.

              Lasts at the most a month. Had to exchange 4 or 5 already. This time had to settle for open box. Either the unit breaks, or it just stops working.                 Short lived
                Had for two years and about to buy my 3rd replacement , when it woks it's great, I have no choice but to replace the kit as I have to replace the whole toilet if I dont. At $49 it's worth a try but try your least used bathroom first to see if you like... Battery life is pretty bad also..

                  The whole family loves these
                  We had two toilets with flushing problems where they would hang or not flush all the way even after replacing most of the inner workings so I decided to give these a try. We love them. One toilet was a bit of a challenge to install but once they were working they flush beautifully every time.

                    Waste of money !!! !!! !!!
                    I like to stay up to date with technology but this technology evidently wasn't tested more than a few days. A week after I had this toilet installed it started flushing on its own. I called Koehler and they sent me replacement parts but the flushing problem continued. Now the flush arm will only move about an inch and will not flush. I wish I had not bought this toilet.

I would suggest checking the trip lever chain to ensure there is enough space for the wheel to rotate completely. An excess of chain could also cause this problem as it could get caught up in the rotating wheel. If this is the case, we would suggest shortening the chain.                       Flushes 150 times a day while at work
                      It's Flushing right as I write this. Now it waste so much water. Cost hundreds of extra dollars a month in water. Good luck to everyone

Please check the following: is anything sitting on the tank cover (remove the items); is the underside of the tank cover wet; is the touchless module wet; does the flush activate within 20 seconds of refilling the tank or while the tank is still refilling; are there any damp or metallic items within 10" of the sensor?                           After purchasing a Kohler toilet I had to purchase a replacement because the one that came with the toilet kept flushing on it's own. This was only after two years after purchasing the toilet with the touchless fit all ready installed. Once you install it be prepared to replace it every couple of years. Let me add once it goes you have to flush the toilet by take the top off and pull the chain or turn the motor by hand.

                            I thought this touchless toilet would be great with kids, etc. but it has been nothing but trouble. We have had dozens of "mystery" flushes! No one in the bathroom and "swoosh"! I have had to replace this battery pack with Kohler 3 times now. Now Kohler is saying that 2 of the parts in the battery pack need to be replaced due to some fault in them. And it takes a long time to get the new parts. Not pleased to say the least. AND, to top it off, I bought the whole toilet, which has a tank with no hole to put in a regular type flushing handle. I would not recommend this product at all.

                            Kohler touchless is worse... I keep buy it every 4 month one new ... I change my toilet next time when I broke. I tried from this is keep flush at night time and someone times when u touch it is not working.

Please be sure that there is nothing on the tank lid. Secondly, check that excess slack is removed from the chain. Be sure that the touchless module and the underside of the tank lid are dry. Lastly, there should be no metallic or damp items within 10" of the sensor.                               Not a good product
                              I have tried this product 4 times, each time it lasted less then a month, plastic gears inside stripped every time. Followed instructions each time. They need to use metal gears.
