Amazing Sink, but very poor unfinished surface with little bits of aluminum visible and felt
We bought this in early September and just completed installation of sink and faucets Thursday. We first noticed the roughness feel of the top mount surface on all 4 sides. This does not occur on the apron front or inside. I assumed it was adhesive from the protector film. I call customer support and was asked to use peanut butter or vegetable oil.
I did but no change. As I cleaned with soft cloth and bounty towels, the surface pulled bits of the cloth and kitchen towel. Upon closer inspection and taking photos close up, I have discovered multiple tiny bits of stainless steel "filaments" on the surface affected running along the grain of the brushed finish. It looks like the finish process to these surfaces was not completed and not smoothened, or the stainless steel is faulty. I am attaching some photos and will be calling customer care again on Monday morning. Any advice from Kohler would be much appreciated. I would like a complete refund and or a new sink with the proper smooth surface.

Gorgeous, practical sink
We had this sink installed when we renovated our kitchen ten years ago. It still looks fantastic. Visitors often remark on it. The finish has held up beautifully and I love how roomy the two halves of the sink are, fitting large pots and pans easily, while allowing me to segregate items between the two sides.

Sink is very nice and was easy to install but the supplied mounting brackets were useless for my installation (48” wide sink base cabinet). The sink itself seems sturdy enough to support itself as it sits on the countertop on three sides. I added support under the front (under the bowls inside the cabinet) instead of those brackets.

Love the size and that it isn’t a under mount or drop in. However it does seem to have rough edges on the countertop that within days has snagged my dish cloths.

Square corners are hard to clean
I installed this sink in my kitchen remodel in 2014. I have regrets. It's essentially impossible to keep the square corners of the basins clean. They collect residue no matter how many times a day I clean them out. I like the sink otherwise, but the cleaning thing is a real problem. I wouldn't buy this, or any other sink with square inner corners, again

Zero radius sinks are precisely rectangular, with sharp 90 degree corners and perfectly straight edges, rather than the more conventional gentle curves and sloped sides. The bottom and sides of the sink are perfectly flat, and are more than a little bit reminiscent of restaurant or other commercial sinks. The sharp lines of zero radius kitchen sinks creates a striking modern appearance. We do recommend regularly drying the sink out and occasionally scrubbing the corner-crevices with a brush to keep build up from accumulating in them. We do offer a Kohler Stainless Steel Cleaner, K-23729-NA that will help in protecting and polishing the sink surface. The Kohler Stainless Steel Cleaner is formulated to provides a protective coating on the sinks surface. $350 for a sink, $150 for the faucet, $50 each for two drains + drain piping. BOTH sides of the sink constantly leaks. I expected better quality!!!!!!

We are very happy with the look and quality of the product. However, the template is not very accurate on the corners where the front and top meet. Be careful before you cut, this sink does not require the extra loop cut that is on the template. We ended up filling the hole with wood filler.

I reveiwed this sink-gave it a 2-after the first one came dented. I wasn't surprised, I did read all the other comments. Well it's 4+ weeks later and I'm currently waiting for sinks #8 & 9. They've all been dented, some more than others. I keep reordering because Home Depot has given me a nice discount, if I ever actually get a good one! Also, the drop in feature and double basin is just what I need. I have contacted Kohler, they may step in and send one directly to me if this next set doesn't produce a good one. Fingers crossed..........

I have ordered two of these sinks within the past 4 months. The first one came with a dent in the front panel which I returned to Home Depot without an issue. I ordered a second one in hopes that the first one was just defective. Unfortunately, the second one also arrived with a dent in the front panel.

Very nice sink. Came fast to my house...
Very nice sink. Came fast to my house outside of Los Angles area. Sink fixed a problem area in my kitchen where the granite cracked at the old sink. Cut it out and put this sink as a drop in. It is a big sink but looks very nice, easy install. Just measure, mark, cut granite, and drop in.

The sink looks beautiful! It is hard to maintain, needing to be wiped down after every use. I use my kitchen sink lots!!! The plumber recommended putting car wax on it which helps some. It also scratches easily. I will NOT buy another one. NOT recommended!!!

I would like to help by explaining the material and giving suggestions on blending the scratches. Most stainless steel products will scratch from everyday use. However, these scratches will blend over time to create a unique finish. To blend the scratches, we suggest applying a stainless steel cleaner/polish (such as Bar Keeper's Friend) with a nonabrasive cloth or sponge, working with, not across, the grain. We do not recommend the use of steel wool, wire brushes or abrasive sponge pads. Use only non-scratch cleaning pads. We recommend cleaning stainless steel at least once a week. Allowing water to evaporate on metal will form water deposits. To avoid this and keep your product looking beautiful, it is important to wipe the sink clean with a soft cloth after each use. Great looking sink ever
We had Kohler cast iron sink that was ruined by some kind of cleaning agent & discolored. So we looked around and this caught my eyes. It looked great in design sites and apron sinks seem to be in vogue.
So after careful consideration by watching and reading what it takes to install this sink, we took a chance.
To be sure, this is not an ordinary drop in sink installation and it requires determination and commitment.
YOU HAVE TO CUT OUT FRONT OF YOUR COUNTER TOP! So be careful to measure and level before cutting the counter top because there is no turning back. But after the installation, it looks fantastic and it was worthwhile. While we agree somewhat with some of the negative reviews on bottom being too flat and hard to reach/clean corners, we love the sink's modern look and its functionality.
