I would like this better if it were cheaper or stronger. My other one lasted 4 years but snapped and was extremely dull. Maybe I expect too much when it comes to quality

July 2019. Mixed feelings about this Kreg 3/8" step bit bit. The original one in the Kreg kit was dull after only 25-30 pocket holes in soft pine. Bought this replacement and it seemed to dull after 20-25. They do work perfectly before they dull though. Contacted Kreg a few days ago regarding dulling of the original bit but no response yet.

Good tool

I broke the tip off the original and this was a replacement, perfect fit.

Really like the hex adapter. No chance of the chuck slipping. Just set the stop collar for the thickness of wood you’re drilling.

I had to buy this bit as my one that came with a Kreg Jig snapped the tip. This was only after a few uses so hopefully this one lasts longer.

I had previously been gifted with the non hex bit but getting this one I can pop it in my impact drill. I love my Kreg tool/accessories.

After 2 years of using my original bit it was time to replace it.

Used one of the Kreg drill bits for years before I wore it out

I wish the bit came with a collar bearing, the only way to get a new collar bearing is to buy the next package up which includes another hole drilling guide. I only need so many hole drilling guides, but I do need collars after bits break.

I have had a Kreg Pocket-Hole kit for about a year. It is a very handy tool to have, works quite well. I purchased this drill bit because the original bit broke at the small leading drill point. That is the only negative part of the system. I would still buy a replacement for this item if it broke.

First use it drilled 1/4 inch into a piece of cedar and the bit shattered. Returned it and got another and so far it has held up. I'm not very impressed with the cost to quality ratio of Kreig ar.products so far. The square head bit for driving the special pan head screws has barely lasted 50 screws

Sharp gets the job done and leaves no frayed edges to the drilling holes. My last one lasted many years, and is still in good working order, I expect the same service from this drill bit.
