Not great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There's gunk all in the top and running the tub cleaning cycle doesn't reach that far up so it's impossible to clean.

    Large
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve washed several large loads of laundry in this new washer. The size is great. No need to do several smaller loads. I’ve done king size blankets, mattress pads and sheets. Everything turns out clean. I do have one gripe. The dispenser was not designed very well. See the photo. Softener fill tank is completely covered by the door.

      Amazing Washer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful piece of equipment. I have owned this for 10 years and have never had a single issue. It has always cleaned everything thoroughly and I love all the features.

        Great features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer 10 years ago. I love it. Love the way I can fold back the front so that I can add clothes and also it allows the tub to dry without having a mildew smell when finished

          Trouble
When I push it for a few minutes it starts draining. I then have to unplug it to get it to stop. Am I missing something

            So So Quality
Bought this unit 10 years ago. The door has broken twice. Replaced it once, but parts no longer available. Hinge plastic is a weak design and have glued it together for now. Something like a hinge should nit be a failure point. Also had a service call to replace the exhaust pump.

              Not worth the hassel.
Bought this no less then 5 years ago. Ran fine for awhile. Now all I deal with is error code after error code. The main ones being OE and IE. No matter what I do to fix the problem it don't work. Now the drain pump won't run, yet nothing is wrong with it, power gets to it just fine. Washer will only do a gravity drain. It takes all day just to do one load of laundry because of how many times the error codes pop up. Also why does it say smart diagnostic washer, wifi capability if it can't do it and not set up for it?

                More than I expected
I bought my washer and dryer combo in March of 2016. I wasn't sure what to expect because LG was not one of the brands I grew up with. I have washed everythin g from socks to comforters and to my surprise, no problems. The only issue I have had to deal with and it only happened once in 7 years is a unbalanced load. I moved into a new condo and turned the washer before I checked whether or not the floor was level. The floor was but at my old place it wasn't. Once I leveled the machine, no issues since.

Best washer I have ever owned
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a appliance technician, I have worked with many machines foreign and domestic products. This is a impressive machine durable self balancing and cleans better than my previous machine the difference was dramatic. Up front controls excellent.

Horrible washing machine. Clothes never really get
I have had the washer for 5 years now and am fully convinced to nevrr by LG appliances ever again. The main draw back is this design doesn't have an agitator. Linens never get clean and whites are now all off white. I would higly recommend to never buy an LG appliance again. High efficiency water use apparently means not using enough water to cover the clothes. So many issues with this stupid washijg machine. Worst purchase of my life. No way to soak and use fabric softner at the same time either. DO NOT BY AN LG WASHING MACHINE

Junk -- don't waste your money.
Bought this product in Sept 2014. After about 6 months, we started to get the uE code errors. Unbalanced. Right. Then the thing would eventually stop and we would get the dreaded UE error. LG gives us "consumer training" on how to use the device. Wash items that weigh the same together. Can't wash 8 washcloths together that weigh the same as that is a "too light" load. Well I only have 8 washcloths and they have to be washed together with nothing else. Can't wash a heavy blanket. That's too heavy. Put the heavier sweatpants on the bottom and the socks and undies on top. That doesn't work either. Constantly unbalanced and you have to stop what YOU are doing to rearrange the load. It is the CONSUMER's issue. Can you imagine a dishwasher that stopped working mid-cycle and required you to move around the dishes and glasses before it would continue? Or what if you don't have a balanced load in the passenger area of your car so it would stop on the highway and you had to get out and rebalance your passenger load before your car would start back up -- on the highway? Crazy. Also this washer is not an Energy Star appliance as this thing uses a ton of water. I'm on a well and we are lucky to not have a water bill but we still have to pay for electricity on these 4 hour "unfinished" loads when the washer just gives up after refilling several times. I just ran a Tub Clean and got the UE error (the capital letters this time). LG Twitter help is not helpful and gave me the same "education" about having to stop the washer and rebalance the load manually. What load? So much for a "convenience" appliance. What a joke. Stay away.

After 5 years, My mother in laws washer machine lid exploded. It wasn’t running. Had a dish towel sitting on top is all. LG will no warrant or recall these lids. Been a good machine until this mess.

                              WT1501CW Stainless Steel Tub Rusting
I purchased this washer about six months ago and recently noticed that clothes were coming out with flakes on them; looked like pepper. My neighbor took the drum out and found corrosion on the 'stainless steel' inner drum. He said that the plating used was prematurely flaking off. We will see about getting a new tub but I fear we will end up in the same place in a few months. It is surely disappointing.

                                Broke 3 times within 3 months...only 13 months old
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the second time in 3 months the spline that spins the wash plate broke. Now I'm only 2 weeks out of the 1 year warranty. The whole clutch mechanism needs to be replaced to fix which isn't cheap. Also in between those issues magnetic plate that spins the washer came loose requiring another service vist. For only being 13 months old (5 weeks of that it wasn't used while waiting for repair) I'm very disappointed with the quality.

                                  Best Washer Ever!!
I bought this washer machine back in 2016 and have never experienced any problems like other reviews have mention. We are a family of 6 and 3 cats, constantly washing. I do laundry every other day from 2-3 loads per day sometimes more when I wash all bedding. I have only good things to say about this washer from the capacity to the ease of use and the performance is the best. I do recommend to run washer machine cleaner at least once a month if you use it allot or not it will perform better and leave the lid open when not in use.

                                      Functional Obsolescence
What a complete piece of garbage. I purchased this for my 86 year old mother to wash her and my 92 year old father's laundry, thinking THERE that should last her. 16 months later, I have a $200 service bill to replace a failed cold water solenoid valve. It is functional obsolescence, it is Korea's attempt to choke us with garbage they make, I will never by an LG product, never recommend one to anyone I like even in the least, and feel so completely swindled I cannot imagine it. What is their scheme, oh you need to pay another $200 for an extended warranty program? So your old granny can use our weak and poorly made junk.

                                        Great for 2 years
This washer dose a great job at washing. But bought this for it’s rating and 10 year warranty on motor. Unfortunately I found out why the motor last so long, plastic parts that.ware instead of motor. This is frustrating, As before this I bought the cheapest washer I could and never had a problem for 11 year and even when it did die it was my fault. Had this 2 years and have to replace pulsater. Lucky for me I am handy so it was only the cost of parts to fix. But $80 every 2 years is not what I call quality. Last LG anything I will be buying.

Better than pounding clothes on rocks at the river
My 20 year old washer just plain wore out. The lack of an agitator made the tub look huge, good for dog blankets. With no agitator the hair just stays on the blankets. But I think the mold in the dispenser drawers bothers me the most because it is a new task now, if I want to control it I have to remove and scrub the insets and then the inside of the recess & drawer, impossible! This is just recognized as something you have to do, according to the help phone person. It is ugly and smells and I never had such a problem with my old washer. I would pay twice what this cost, to get a new version of my old washer, exactly the same. I had to buy a footstool to reach clothes resting on the bottom (I am 5'6"), I have less control over the water temp and amount used than with my non-electronic old one, I have put largish rubber dog toys in to make it use more water (by adding weight to the clothes) and I hope jostle the clothes around more. But wait, it connects to the internet! Who needs clean clothes or easy operation when you can do that! They should refund my money.

                                            Awful
We bought this washing machine about 5 years ago. It had been working okay. Now when i wash my clothes they come out dirtier than when they go in. They come out with black/brown flakes of something all over. I've also gotten grease like stains on my clothes. I've done everything to clean this machine that LG has recommended and nothing has helped. The LG service tech that they referred me to said its mold that gets caught under a disk and they can't do anything more to help me. So I guess this machine will now go into a landfill and I will be buying a new machine.

                                              Great machine BUT ...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the washer and dryer, am delighted with the look and overall performance but have the following issue which I complained to LG about over 2 years ago and again recently, namely my clothes get marked - maybe 1 item in the load and not every wash cycle, and the marks looks as if you've splashed yourself with cooking oil. LG initially told me to use Affresh or Tide tub cleaner which I have been doing for over 2 years but the problem persists. I have had to throw out a lot of items of clothing because these marks do not disappear. Last week, an LG approved technician came out, it cost me $90 because he said there was nothing actually wrong with the machine and suggested I do a bleach wash, which I did and also switch to Tide and only Tide. I have since done 2 small loads, 1 with light colors and both pairs of white pants came out with orange marks - I had nothing even resembling that color in the load and the other load with darker colors, produced the usual oily looking streaks on a pair of leggings that I will need to throw out. The orange looking marks have diminished by scrubbing after the application of a stain remover, but one pair of pants was a brand new pair of MK jeans, so I am not a happy camper! Today I have done another bleach wash followed up by a plain rinse and spin, so hopefully everything "tainted" in the residue beneath the drum which I believe a liquid reserve is always there. I have looked at other reviews and don't see other people having this issue - they have others that I don't, but this is costing me money in garments/sheets that I have to discard, additional electric/water in running additional tub cleans, not to mention the products.

                                                Not Happy
I purchased this washer along with an LG dryer and LG refrigerator in August of 2016 along with the 5 yr protection plan from Home Depot. Although I am happy with the dryer and fridge, this is absolutely the worst washer I have ever had!! After every wash, I have to hand vac the machine out because of some sort of debris that is left behind. I have called about this and even had my plumber check it out. LG has been very unhelpful and the “protection plan” a complete waste of money. BTW, I live here with my adult sister and no kids so there is no reason for this to be happening. I am now use to vacuuming after EVERY use but in no way would I ever recommend this product!!

LG please send my regards to the people involved on designing this machine. High efficiency!!!! That is more like very poor efficiency. First of all worst buy I’ve ever done Waste of my hard earned money waste of my time having to babysit the dang machine waste of water when it goes off balance this is a very non reliable machine that all it does is agitate for a bit then spin clockwise then counterclockwise is just very frustrating and disappointing. I know this is a discontinued Model but, I hope you’ve learn from all the bad reviews and have done something about it. One thing for sure is that this is the first time I bought an LG product and the last I’m so mad that I’m not interested in giving you another try.

Washer is working great. Everyone at home likes it. All the features are great. Child lock works perfectly. We found out by mistake but proved that it works and it is so easy to set up and reset. Washer is very quiet and the spin cycle is almost without vibration. The tub is so big, you can do large loads at the time. Looking forward to many years of good service from this well-built washer.

Truly Surprised by this washing machine. I mean, It's a washing machine, what's to be surprised about! Well, my clothes, linens, terry, jeans, polo's and shop rags all come out of this washer cleaner and in better condition than they ever did in the Kenmore that died! (R.I.P.) The only thing that changed was the washing machine, and what a change. The stainless steel washing drum is actually beautiful to look at under the overhead floodlights installed in the garage. But, where's the agitator? It's a top loader; there's no agitator; how does it get the clothes clean??? Very Gently. And it worlks! The "control panel" offers a HUGE number of selections, five "status lights" showing what's going on in the wash cycle and the LED display the time remaining before the load of wash is done. For me (a "guy"), it's dump the laundry into the tub, tap "Power" to turn on the control panel, tap "Cycle 1" once to display "Normal," close the lid and tap "Start." Oh, forgot the detergent and/or bleach. Tap "Pause", add the soap to the tray and bleach where it belongs in the corner. Close the lid again and tap "Start." Simple! The machine decides the water level and goes through a set of stepps turning the tub this way and that, then spinning the load of dry laundry slow, then faster before it starts to fill the tub with water. This programmed start-up has kept me standing and watching in wonderement the machine's macinations. The only other settings I've used so-far are "Temp" to "HOT," and "Soil" to "Heavy" for a load of shop rags. The manual thoroughly explains what all the different selections mean, if there's a need for an explanation. I'll probably never program or download a programed wash cycle, but, it's there! Looked at and played with the Android App, but, for my use, it didn't add anything not already on the panel of the manchine. Oh, did I mention that this is the quietest washing machine I've ever owned! Smooth and quiet. I love this piece of equipment!
