We needed this to replace an old phone jack in our kitchen and were impressed by how light and simple it was, but it works beautifully. We still have a landline because the wiring is there, and the call quality is often better than a cell phone. We like the clean, simple look of this decora plate and would recommend it to anyone upgrading their kitchen with new outlets, boxes, and switchplates.

The Leviton Brand, Decora Telephone jack is a great way to match the decora receptacles and switches in your home. Replacing an older telephone jack is easily accomplished by first noting the wire connections of the old jack and transferring them to the new phone jack terminals. It is best to avoid reversing the polarity of the phone wires. However, most telephones will work even if the wiring polarity has been reversed. When replacing an old phone jack, only two of the wire connections may be used rather than all four. In the case of four wire connections, the jack will support two telephone lines when telephone subscribers are assigned two telephone numbers for their residence.

I chose this jack to change out my old telephone jack to a design that matched the rest of the Decora jacks in my home. The installation went well with no surprises. Since I had old wiring, I was glad that they supplied a cross reference for wiring in the line. I also liked the quality of the jack, which had metal tabs for attaching the jack to the box. After adding the faceplate, it looked great!

Purchased this to replace a bulkier old style telephone wall plate. Very simple to install and the packaging included an insert with information for wiring it up with different cable styles.

Very easy to install on 1 or 2 line telephone. Well made without spending for a professional to install high grade unit. Unit has solid metal backplate instead of cheaper units.

Decora style device with one telephone jack in white. This device is made well, and easier to hook up than the modular style jacks that need a push tool, this one has four Phillips screws on the back to hook up the wires. The four screws are labeled in the plastic for the green and red, and yellow and blue. There is a conversion table included to convert to two different styles of hookup, but the instructions are not well done. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

In today's wireless world, this part is old school, but still needed at times. Bright white. I found it to be attractive. Even had a set of installation directions inside the bag. Fit into Decora outer plate very well. A sharper look than the simple plain all one piece plate. I hooked it up and it worked the first time, no problem. I recommend this plate.

This Leviton Decora style single modular phone jack is very sturdy, stylish, UL approved and meant to be flush mounted in either a single or multiple outlet box. It’s much more damage and dirt resistant than the typical external modular jacks that attach to the wall baseboard. There are four screw terminals on the back to attach the telephone wires, and a color coded instruction sheet. You can use either a Phillips or a standard screwdriver to tighten the screws on the back, as well as the two included mounting screws (the Decora switchplate is not included).

Decora 6P4C Telephone Insert, White What a great update to regular telephone jacks in the wall. A nice complete unit, which allows up to 4 strands for both phone or data lines for internet. Installation is very straight forward. Full instructions are included. Simply pop out the old jack from the box, and reinstall in the new wall plate. Finish off with a decorative plate, and you have a nice, flush, phone/data jack. I'm very happy Home Depot offered these. I recommend them and rate it 5*s out of 5.

I bought about 4 of these to put all over my home's rooms. I've used these Decora types in many of my rental homes. They are the best. The backs are beefy for installing the phone lines. Usually you attach 2-4 wires, depending on your home's setup and age. The rectangle look is a big upgrade from my old yellow all-in-one wall plate types. These are very pricey, though!

As I said above- Installation instructions were horrible. I cut my telephone line to install this and my entire landline went down. I went on line to the product to get more instructions and found that I had to be a elephone repairmn to install this product I now have to hire someone to install this and bring my landline back to normal. Why don;t you give a warning when you sell this product ?

Got this to update the look of an old phone jack. Worked fine, don't know what else to say.
