Love this stuff. It's been in about 3 weeks and so far I have no complaints. 1. Easy to install. We are remodeling and put the floor in the kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry and hall. Laid it over new sub-floor, over existing linoleum and over old sub-floor. No underlayment required and it went in great. 2. Looks good. Looks so much like real veneer that my neighbor thought it was real wood instead of synthetic. 3. Pattern looks great and doesn't show dirt. Not sure why the photos are turned. They are right on my end?!?!?

We are in love with these floors. The quality is exceptional, the finish is perfect (matte - not too much shine) and the color is rich and beautiful.

Rental house floor covered fast
WOW is a good word that comes to mind! This flooring once you get your hard cuts done will fly. I do recommend a second person to do the cuts to save time. I started by myself and then my dad cut while I installed and with 2 people was 3 times as fast. I love how the seams just disappear. This will be my go to flooring for a while. I made a video of the installation https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vAq2Jfq5X_Q&t=442s

    easy install - happy customer
We put down essiential oak - looks great and was easy to install. It took us roughly two days (maybe 18 hours of work) to lay about 500 sq/ft. Some of the seams aren’t perfect, and it did chip in a few places as we were clicking it together. I also dropped the mallet on the floor and it did leave a mark - so I’m not sure about the long-term derability. Overall, very happy so far.

      beautiful and simple
We did our kitchen, living room and hallway in a day, the longest was the hallway with all the doorways. The big open spaces we completed very fast. Would recomend a tapping block, sped up the process. They came out great, laid out right over old hardwoods, a lot less squeeking with the vinyl. We went with smoked hickory and its the perfect blend between light and dark. Love them.

Not as "Lifeproof" as you would hope...... It DOES scratch easily and we've had issues with water beading in between each piece....
We installed this in the entire house. Just a warning if installing in kitchen/bathrooms areas.... We are a few weeks in with these new floors and already having issues with water beading up in the joints. In the kitchen area if you happen to get drips on the floor the water WILL seep into the cracks and if you walk over it later, it squishes the water back out. We have been wiping the beading water for days on end now. You can't get ANY water on this floor or it will continue to bead up as you walk across it. We cannot seem to get all the water out. And this is just from normal drops of water...We are not doing anything excessive - average daily living!! (You wash your hands at the sink and reach across for a towel and if a few drops fall on the cracks, the water WILL get in the joints and bead up later). The only way to resolve this would be to pick the floor back up (not feasible without a ton of work pulling baseboards), wipe up the floor/dry off underside, and lay back down, and then completely cover up the floor you just paid thousands to purchase and install. So now we are going to have to order rugs/mats to cover the floor we just installed in order to not have it bead up. The beads are noticeable as well because as you walk across the floor, it collects dirt/dust, etc. So then you have dried dirt lines in the cracks in between the pieces where the moisture was. We are fairly disappointed with this product!! Now I'll be wiping up water beads for the foreseeable future......

            Looks like it's separating.
We chose this for our living room and dining room. We liked the color, the look and the fact it was water proof. It was easy to install, and looked great the first day or 2, but now the planks seem to be separating. Very disappointed in the quality. Also, it scratches easily.

I have installed this in essential oak upstairs on plywood - floor has to be leveled and very even without even small nooks and crannies, especially where plywood sheets connect to each other. If your floor is relatively flat, you will still have to get rid of small imperfections by either taking them out or filling them in. If for example, two plywood sheets connect and one is 1/16" higher, you will need to shave or sand it off. If your plywood is rough and wavy and it has level differences bigger than 1/4" per ten feet, like after water damage or being more moist in certain areas, you will need to lay a self-leveling underlayment to even it out. I have installed a different luxury vinyl called modin from flooret downstairs on the cement floor and pieces connect way better without any gaps. I have tried this different floor on plywood and it went nicely over the same areas upstairs where the LifeProof wouldn't connect well. Edges on modin on all sides are pressed down at 45 degree level, they are about 1/32" in size and it allows them to lock perfectly and it is smooth on touch and nothing sticks out. The LifeProof is flat on the edges and if there is a slightest difference in height between pieces, they don't lock perfectly well and if you pass your hand, it feels very abrasive. The floor on the photo is LifeProof and the edge is of the other manufacturer, Flooret. You should be able to see how one piece of LifeProof sits slightly higher, it is tiny but enough to feel with your foot. My recommendation is to get the floor with slightly suppressed edges. My second problem is with the design patterns - there are only 6 or 7 of them and they look very repetitive. Make sure you get all pieces from the same run, which is a date on the box, if run date is different, patterns could be completely different and won't match nicely. Get all from the same run. Third, the important part in luxury vinyl is the 'wear layer" on top, it comes in 6, 12, 20 and 40 mil, mil being a thousandth of an inch. LifeProof is the lowest 6 and you don't want to put it in high traffic areas like downstairs by the entrance and or the stairs. It is not so bad but I wouldn't buy it again if I had a choice. Hope this helps.

We installed 1200 sq ft of this flooring. The installer said it was very easy to install with no damaged pieces or waste. We replaced ceramic tile and 20 year old manufactured wood with this flooring. It is the easiest floor I've ever had to take care of and is extremely durable. We have had no scratches. I have to make myself sweep or vacuum as nothing shows on it unless it's white or a big piece of something. It passed my scratch test on the sample when many other brands did not. Essential Oak goes well with any colors. I think a darker color would show more dust and dirt. It does not make noises when walking on it, but if you drop something on it, it has a hollow sound. It looks much better than the glue down kind they are using in many new homes and several have stated that their glue down kind has scratched. The only problem we had, was the shoe mold in stock at our local Home Depot did not match the floor we had. Apparently there was a change in color recently and the shoe mold was the old color. We had to go to another Home Depot to get the matching shoe mold. So be careful with that if you need it. We used white shoe mold to match the baseboards except for around bricks. I am extremely pleased with this flooring and hope that this review will help with your flooring choice.

                    Not life proof
We purchased the Seaside Oak and it scratches very easy. We just finished installing about 2 weeks ago and it looks great but the scratches come from nowhere. We have rugs, use protectors on everything and are very careful. We saw the good and bad reviews, tried to scratch a sample piece, it was durable, however the actual pieces are not. Installation was fairly simple however opened ends on boxes and many pieces had bad ends. Home Depot provided us 2 extra boxes to cover the damaged ones. I don't figure it will last long until it looks bad. Lesson learned.

I have lived with this flooring in my entire home for two years now
I would still vouch on the product being durable But my main complaint is the ripples in the texture kinda made it easier for dirt to get trapped in the middle of the floor and the material itself is a rubber feeling under your feet yet still hard on my heels at the same time The material is also hard to keep sanitized in my opinion. When we placed a 55 inch fishtank on the product it did not damage the floor by the weight but the ripples in the texture And flex of the rubber made it hard to find stability for the tank it would wobble so we had to replace it with a smaller tank. The floor was also very easy to scratch but once you got used to it happening you realize the scratches just blend into shadow hickorys dark colors N thats another complaint i would have to say is the dark colors made it hard to match anything in the home and appeared way darker under my own lighting compared to the stores. So do your research n if its just for the bathroom i highly recommend it otherwise didnt work out for my kitchen dining room n living room we couldnt even play jenga on our kitchen table cuz the vibration the underlayment wasnt enough support For my floors so it flexed alot more then other floorings

I purchased this flooring on 12/29/2019 for the living room in our house. Our contractor installed the flooring soon after. But just a month and a half and the top of flooring is coming off with just normal traffic and kids playing in that room. There are several places where the floor is happening, 11 spots to be exact. HD only allows a few pictures for the review. I was told this flooring was the best and I paid $18.73 sq ft. 40 boxes at $51.81ea plus molding for a total of $2,416.24. That's not including the installation cost. I do not recommend this product to anybody. Do your homework. Higher price don't equal better quality. The product has lifetime warranty but it has just been a month and a half, and I'm not planing on changing the flooring every two months or every year. I hope this company responds as they advertise on the box and take responsibility for the damage and installation. I will keep posting updates.

I installed in below grade basement family room. My biggest concern was that it would feel very cold under foot but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it seems to be insulated. The surface is absolutely not scratch proof, though most scratches tend to blend back in wiping with a wet cloth.

So far we are loving the floor! It was easy to install and looks really sharp. I will say for being scratch proof we’ve already had a scratch or two. Nothing that’s major and we can mostly wipe it away. Overall happy with our purchase

They installed the floor and several of the pieces have peeled. This has also scratched a lot even though it’s supposed to be scratch resistant. It’s lifted a lot and it’s only installed 3 months ago.

                            Flooring that won’t last!
We had this flooring installed throughout our new house 9 months ago. We were assured by the flooring associates and even our contractor that we were getting high quality durable “life proof” flooring. This is NOT the case. We are a normal household of 4, we do not wear shoes in the house and our furniture has scuff pads. After LESS THAN ONE YEAR the flooring throughout the house looks so beat up. I wanted to love this floor. I was told with its scratch resist coatings that kids dropping silverware wouldn’t faze it. We haven’t even done that to it. There are HUGE scratches and dents throughout the house. My sons hot wheels cars left marks for heaven sake! We are currently filing a warranty claim to see if there is anything that can be done but I highly suggest you don’t waste thousands of dollars fitting your home with this stuff!

Beautiful flooring! Very very pleased with this purchase!
We wanted to provide direct feedback on the flooring product purchased from Home Depot in Windham ME and installed through our local HD's installation services. The product and final installation job exceeds our expectations! The Lifeproof vinyl plank flooring was installed in a lower level family room. The flooring is beautiful and quite natural looking! Best of all it is so easy to maintain with heavy foot traffic and muddy pets entering the lower level from outside. The white oak wooden stair retreads are a perfect match for our color selection of Lifeproof Essential Oak! The stairs are solid, top quality, and really set off the flooring. The HD installers were all very professional, friendly, and efficient; we highly recommend both the flooring and the carpenter teams who worked our job! We would also like to extend a gracious thank you to the HD Windham management and pro-desk team who worked so hard to make this happen for us. ..Joyce, Christian, and Pat
