Doesn't seem to actually do much.
What the tube doesn't say is that it's not meant to be used to hold up a mirror that isn't already held up by something else. The website does. The tube doesn't. So I trusted it to hold up a mirror, and very shortly after I removed the temporary blocking, the mirror fell off the wall and shattered, damaging the new bathroom it was in. The adhesive had been given ample curing time but was still tacky to the touch and I could pull it apart easily. It had no holding power whatsoever.

THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE MARKET
I used this product to apply a hanging mechanism to a mirror. Followed all directions on the product. After 2 days to set the mirror was hung and it fell down. I removed and re-applied and waited 8 days .....the mirror fell down after 40 minutes. This product never dries or hardens and ends up causing damage and costing money. DO NOT BUY IT.

DO NOT USE ON MIRRORS! Home Depot was sold out of the mastic that is typically used for mounting mirrors to the wall so I thought this would work since it says it is for mirror in the name of the product. I would add that this effect did not happen immediately and has gotten worse with time. Now I need to buy a new mirror, new adhesive, tape to hold together shards of glass, shims to try and leverage it away from the wall, perhaps drywall mud and touch up paint... Very frustrating. I'm sure both Loctite and Home Depot will do nothing to help but sell me more stuff. Upon research I found that many construction adhesives can "de-silver" the mirrors over time because of corrosive properties. You would think a product targeted to mirrors would have addressed that...

Works good, fast mastic for mirrors. Maybe I got a defective one but it was only partially full to begin with. Additionally a large portion of it leaked out the back after I used it. Can't wait to clean that out. Glad I only needed it for a small mirror. I've used hundreds of Loctite glues/sealants in the past, this one isn't right.

            Serves its purpose
I normally do not leave reviews for adhesive, but since HD asked nicely, I suppose I will. I bought this because I decided I wanted to upgrade our "builder's grade bathroom mirror" in the guest bathroom. I was going to achieve this by purchasing moulding and gluing it to the mirror to give the effect the mirror was framed. As I proceeded to add the moulding to the mirror, I noticed there was no way I could add the moulding to the mirror as we had those ugly mirror clips that were in the way. So off to HD I went to purchase this adhesive. I removed the mirror clips and used this adhesive to attach the mirror to the wall and let dry for 24 hrs. Once I was sure the mirror was going to stay put, I used this adhesive once again to attach the moulding to the mirror. The mirror and its new frame have been up for 2 weeks now and look great! I am very pleased!

            This worked great
I read the product reviews before purchasing this adhesive. The main thing to check on your mirror is if the backing is Electro-copper backing or Acrylic backing. I went on the internet to see images of both and found I had Electro-copper backing. Purchased the tube and applied to the door while laying flat and then placed the mirror on it and centered. I let it cure in that position for 24 hours. I installed the little plastic mirror clips on to the door too. I hung the door and you can tell while swinging the door that it is holding very well. It feeling like it is part of the door. I have no bleed through of any kind. After reading the reviews and all the lower ratings it was getting I am wondering if those people read the instruction and made sure of the backing on their mirrors. So take that into consideration when reading these reviews and check to make sure of the type of backing you have.

            Bleeds thru.
I can see exactly where I put the mastic on the mirror. I would not recommend and can't believe they actually sell this for mirrors.

              not recommended
I bought this product to use for hanging an acrylic mirror to the wall. I was told by the associate at the store that this would do the trick. Well, the mirror went up and is holding well. What I wasn't told was that the glue would bleed through the silver backing of the mirror. My newly purchased 36' x 48' mirror is ruined and now I will have to replace it. I plan on mentioning this to the staff at the store and I hope Home Depot reads the comments on here and either pulls the product or informs potential buyers of the damage it could cause.

Do not use on Acrylic Mirrors
Used this to secure an acrylic mirror from home depot and it completely desilvered it after it cured a few days later. The whole mirror looks like leopard print that can't be cleaned. Rather upset with it all. I read the Liquid Nails doesn't desilver, but probably not going to risk it again and just going to mount with screws.

              So Embarrassed
An old friend has a very successful hotel/restaurant. He had 6 coffee tables made of a wooden base and covered on 5 sides with an expensive antique mirror. After a year or so, the mirrors on the cubical tables were broken and chipped. He asked me to recover the tables with a similar mirror. The mirrors were very expensive, considerably more than regular clear mirror. I picked up a few tubes of PL530 and proceeded to glue the mirrors to the tables. They cured for 48 hours. I delivered the tables this morning. By 4:00 the mirrors on the sides of the cubes had fallen off. The PL 530 had not cured completely. The residual amount left on the back of the mirrors hardened completely, after the mirrors had fallen off the tables. Fortunately none of the pieces broke.

              Great for marble!
I used this product to adhere a white marble 2.5 inch border to ceramic tile. Even though the product is a dark grey in color (you typically don't want to use anything dark with white marble) it did not stain the marble and has not bled through at all. I was very surprised that you can't tell at all as I have seen what happens to white marble when someone tries to use normal dark grey mortar on it. Outstanding hold and when cured it seems to be rock solid. Has been 6 months and still no color bleed through on marble at all. Just be sure to vent the area as it has a fairly strong smell for a few days after application. Tube lists 48 hours to cure, took about 48 hours for the odor to be completely gone. Went back and got another tube to use on a marble chair rail install. Great stuff!

Ruined my mirror in three months
I used this product to glue a custom mirror onto a piece of furniture that we had restored (as a top). I followed the directions and applied. About three to four months later I can now see the outline of the glue pattern through my (expensive) mirror, thus ruining it. I called Loctite and was told that the mirror had to be electro-copper platted or this would happen. While I'm sure this provides them plausible deniability, I would expect a product that touts it's safe for mirrors would actually be safe for mirrors. I would not recommend this for mirrored use; how could I?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Loctite PL 530 Mirror, Marble and Granite Construction Adhesive requires the use of a support system, such as mirror clips or channels, to hold the mirror in place. The adhesive cannot be used as the sole means of support. If you ever need help using our product, feel free to reach us at 1-800-624-7767.
