I thought Lucid was a reputable brand, so I couldn't wait to get this topper. I opened it and let it fill up. As soon as I pulled the topper onto the bed it ripped in multiple locations. I figured I'd give it a try anyways, but then all this material from the Lucid topper started getting all over my $2800 mattress. I feel like Lucid is trying to sell damaged foam toppers to get rid of a product they are aware is faulty and almost impossible to return. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau.

I opened this on Friday 8/18/23 and it is still flat.

Once again, a company that offers you nirvana but only delivers trash. Day 4 and the thing still hasn't expanded. I get so tired of spending money for an advertised product just to find out the item is nowhere near the quality they are advertising. And by the way Lucid, I've seen your responses to the other 1-star reviews on this site and they're also trash, so don't bother. Come Monday I'm rolling this hot mess up and taking it to Home Depot for a refund.

My queen size mattress was becoming too hard on my back and I wasn’t able to sleep through the night. I purchased this mattress and brought it home on a Wednesday. I used the convenient bag opener that was included. I laid the mattress out on top of my bed to let it expand out. By Friday night I was ready to put my mattress protector over it and a fitted sheet and that night, I slept like a baby and have been ever since.

I bought this mattress topper back in November since I love soft mattresses. Within two months, the topper sank inward. It’s now sitting next to my bed since it kept giving me back issues. I think the two inch would be much better.

It never filled out and Lucid was extremely difficult to work with on replacing it. I ended up taking it back to Home Depot for credit.

It's good quality. Decent price. Looks exactly like the photo. The foam is way too soft i sink in to it. Took a week to get use to it. I think i would have been just fine with a 2inch instead of a 3in, almost ordered the 4in. Hubby has NO complaints. He did alot of complaining before the topper since the mattress is Firm.

My husband ordered this for me because I have arthritis in my neck and shoulders. I was looking forward to finally getting a memory foam topper, now that the sale price made it affordable. Unfortunately, it has now been airing almost a full week and the edge of one side still will not expand fully. There is also some dimpling on that side that won't come out. It's been in the spare room and I've tried cooling the room and letting the room get warm. Nothing worked. It seems like it could be very nice if it would fully expand. It's just too cumbersome for me to try to return so unfortunately, I cannot recommend this.

It was hard to get the mattress topper put of the plastic package it was in. Then get it unfolded and on the bed. It appeared to be to small for the bed at first and had wrinkles and ridges. However after about 1 hour everything smoothed out as the pad expanded. Once the topper had expanded it fit the bed perfectly. It is very comfortable. My dogs love it and I keep finding them sneaking into the bedroom to curl up and take a nap on the new bed. This is the second topper that I have purchased and I plan on buying a third for the guestroom. I would differently recommend this product.

Hard to give a FAIR review. Please consider my 3 STARS as NUETRAL rather than AVERAGE. I am comparing my "Gel pillow" to this "Gel FOAM topper" in which there is a difference. Gel is soft, with a smooth, slow-ish give way and is somewhat "cool". FOAM is spongey, not cooling and firm-ish. This topper sinks instantly to my weight. Had I gotten a 2" thick topper, I would have to return it as I would sink into the mattress underneath. The sink-age is disconcerting because I'm laying in a hole shaped like my body. It is extremely soft and with weight, warmth and time sinks more. So my mid section is down deep whereas my arms, legs, head not in a hole. Cool: No worse or better than my memory foam mattress. If you run hot while sleeping, this will not give you any added cooling. Sounds all bad? I am not retuning this topper because I have a bad shoulder and hip (thankfully both hip and shoulder are the right side), hurts like the dickens to be slept on (side sleeper). Because this topper is so soft, my shoulder and hip sink into the topper easing the pressure. After 4 days of sleeping on this topper the pain in my shoulder and hip isn't as bad upon waking. It will take some getting used to the softness and sinking. If your looking for FIRM, stay FAR AWAY from this topper. If you want something SOFT, this is the topper for you! NO ODOR! Inflated nearly instantly! Packaged well. Shipped quickly - Had topper in 2 days.

The Lucid 3 inch gel and aloe infused memory foam mattress topper is great. This is a thick pad and elevates the comfort of any mattress. It arrived vacuum sealed in a bag and rolled up so it fit in a compact box. This makes it easy to transport and move to the area needed. After removing it from the bag, it needs to lay flat for about 48 hours to fully expand and regain its shape. Installing it is as easy as putting it on top of the mattress and then putting your sheets and bedding on over it. This is very comfortable and amazing to lay on. It helps improve your quality of sleep as it's supportive and soft. The box also comes with a letter opener type tool, which can also be used to safely cut the plastic off the topper without cutting the mattress topper itself.

If you want to add comfort and cooling to your bed them I suggest this foam topper. It is not foam, it is a high-tech gel material memory foam bed topper. The color is an ice blue color, very neutral and pleasing to the eye. It will arrive in a box all rolled up. When you open the box. pull it out, unroll it and unfold it ther will be a high ridge in the middle from the fold. Do not worry. the ridge will disappear within 48 hours of "relaxing", After that it is ready to use. It is a full 3 inches thick AFTER it has relaxed and decompressed and it really does add comfort to the bed and eliminates all the pressure points. In addition it has a 3 year warranty.

I received the package and opened the box from the bottom and missed the instructions. I needed it immediately and didn't realize it had to sit layed out for 48hrs. I was really dismayed thinking it was a terrible product. After opened for the second day the mattress grew almost three times the size and turns out I am really happy with the product. It is very comfortable and it bounces back to normal shape after the initial 48 hrs. very quickly. It works good on a couch or bed. I would recommend this product.

Oh boy - a great night's sleep! I knew this was going to be a good product from the start. Number one it was boxed quite nicely. No big deal though. When you open up the box and see this in shrink wrap very nicely you immediately wonder if you're going to be able to unpack it without ripping it. Don't worry, they provide you with essentially a concealed letter opener that easily slices the plastic wrapping without the possibility of ruining the foam mattress topper. Unwrap the mattress topper to begin with and you will find that the foam topper is not only inside that polyethylene plastic but also inside some sort of a muslin fabric. This fabric keeps the foam mattress topper from sticking to itself. I laid it out on the floor of my spare bedroom and allowed it to come to full size. That happens in under 24 hours. I did take the recommended 48 hours though so that any off-gassing of smells from the foam at the manufacturer would be gone. Within two days it was perfect and ready to go. Simply drop it on top of your bed, put your mattress protector and sheets on and you are ready for a great night's sleep. This mattress topper reacts quite nicely to body movements. It does not leave the foam in a depressed state for long. It reacts quite nicely to body movements. In other words it cradles you for a perfect night's sleep. I love this mattress topper.

This is Lucid 3" topper is great for a conventional or foam mattress! This is a replacement for a 2" mattress topper that was on a new Comfort Gel 10" memory foam bed. This is more firm that the one that it replaced and seems to breathe more. The topper came shrink wrapped in a sleeve inside a 24" x 12" x 12" box. As you will see in the photo the mattress topper is quite compact as shipped. When unwrapped, it is best to locate the pad in the center of the bed and unfold it once the package is opened. The pad took about 2-3 hours to fully expand to the 3" height. Once expanded, you can put on a conventional mattress pad and the sheets. There was no out-gassing of the memory foam hat was noticeable. So far, I have been sleeping well and really enjoying the Lucid mattress topper. I look forward to many comfortable nights! Comfy, easy to unpack, fits well!

This is a very comfortable, marshmallow soft mattress topper. It still provides good support, but it eliminates the sensation of laying on a hard, solid surface that comes with a lot of extra firm mattresses. The topper is packaged in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag and box that takes up only about 3 square feet. For this reason, it needs to be allowed to breathe and plump up after it is unpacked and unrolled. This takes at least 24 hours; the manufacturer recommends 48 hours, and also states that it might give off a slight odor (I didn't notice one) as it airs. Once it is plumped up, it can go on top of a standard sized twin mattress and then covered with linens. There is no overhang, and fitted sheets go easily over the corners. The aloe-infused foam helps keep you cool when sleeping, which adds to the comfort level this brings. The memory foam is also very resilient, returning to a full shape within minutes after being laid upon. This is a very nice mattress topper that offers a good night's sleep with less morning stiffness.

This topper is for my grandson's bunk bed. Small box, big surprise inside. He thinks he got a new mattress and loves it. Opened up the box, unfolded it, used the little letter opener thing that came with it to easily and carefully slit open the vacuum sealed envelope. When I laid it on the bed is seems too small but it began to rise, it had the fold humps in it and I thought "what?" but after 48 hours or less it is the size of the mattress less than a tad all the way around and humps have disappeared. It does seem to not be as hot as the first ones that came out and does seem to regulate to a comfortable temp for sleeping. It is medium firm and will give more comfort than the firmer mattress he has now. It is blue so that is all he cares about at this point. He did seem to sleep "less floppy" last night and that is great. Warranty on it too. Great!

So completely satisfied that I cannot wait to go to sleep! Although the directions say to lay flat for 48 hours, I went a lot further. Reading the other reviews that had a terrible time getting this to totally take its proper shape, I laid it out for about 5 days. I’m fortunate enough to have the room and place to lay it flat(used my pool table) but I do understand that many people do not. So rushing the lay out time is detrimental to the proper use and enjoyment. Everyday I watched it rise and lose its creases so when I finally placed it on my mattress it was nothing short of perfect. I was totally amazed on how comfortable it was. I sometimes experience leg cramps and did notice that my legs felt better on this. I do not move around too much like I used to but when I do move I’ve noticed the very first position is so comfortable. I sleep so much better now. Initially got this because of the cooling effect and I believe it really works for me. I have not experienced being hot at all. So happy to stop playing the covers on covers off game. The memory foam bounces back to its original squared shape almost immediately after moving off. If you are considering a topper you must go for this one. Just remember to really let it lay out flat for more than 2 days (manufacturer should amend this) and this would be one of the best investments on great quality sleep you could ever make.

Having never had a memory foam mattress or mattress topper before, I had no idea what to expect. This topper came tightly wrapped in plastic, folded and rolled into a tight cylinder. The instructions provided said prior to using the topper, it should opened up and left on a flat surface for about 48 hours, in order to expand to the proper shape and thickness. Once I opened the plastic and unrolled the topper, I could understand why, although I was skeptical that the topper would relax to a flat 3” thick mattress topper.( see my photo). I was shocked to see that after about 36 hrs., the topper actually did flatten and smooth out. When I placed the topper on my mattress, it is not exactly the same dimensions as my full size mattress (it’s a little smaller). Once the fitted sheet was put on, the topper seems to be okay. In terms of support, the memory foam does seem to do a good job supporting the body, and it does bounce back quickly. My husband has back problems and he said this topper feels comfortable for him. Overall, I am pleased with this mattress topper.

The Lucid comfort memory foam topper is a good product. The topper was compressed and put into a nice size box for shipping. After unboxing and rolling out on the bed, it was just slightly larger than the full mattress. The directions state it need 48 hours to decompress. Sheets do need to be deep since it will add 3" to the height of your mattress. The Lucid topper added comfort but did not take away the firmness that was liked.

Mary really likes this topper. She says it gives her a great night's sleep. It really makes a difference. The topper arrives try-folded, compressed and rolled up in a medium sized box. You have to unroll it, and then unflold it. It then has to lay flat for 48 hours to expand. That is something to plan for. The bed would be then best place for it, if you have somewhere else to sleep. I couldn't do that. I did have an open area upstairs that I could use. I had to put it in a loose roll to get it down the stairs and into the bedroom. It is manageable.

This memory foam topper by Lucid comfort is gel and aloe infused. It comes tightly packed and they include a small gadget to help you rip the heavy plastic off. It was a bit confusing for me when i opened it and placed it on my queen mattress because it seemed a bit smaller than my mattress and was not completely flat, it had two large humps. After a few hours it started to fill out and grow. This topper is slightly smaller than my mattress, but that works for me because i don't like the toppers to flop off the sides. Be sure to use deep pocket sheets. I am still getting use to it, it did grow to the 3 inches but it is denser than other foam toppers.

I got this to put on my toddler's new twin bed. I had purchased a Lucid mattress that was waterproof, and while it wasn't very thick, I didn't want to get a really nice mattress while my son was still in diapers. This was a nice add-on, without breaking the bank. It arrived vacuumed-sealed, and includes a branded letter opener to easily open the plastic, which I thought was really clever. It needed to sit for several hours to fully expand, and did have a slight odor, but it did dissipate quickly. My son's still pretty little, so he doesn't have much to say about how much he likes it, but he's been very still in his sleep, and sleeping well, so it must be comfortable. I have no idea what the Aloe does as I can't see or smell anything, but it is under a waterproof mattress cover so, maybe it would be without it? Overall, a nice topper, would be perfect for college too, if it came in Twin XL.

Nice, very thick, mattress topper. It took a couple nights to get used to. I change position and the hole stays behind -- I guess that is what they mean by “memory” foam. It makes it more comfortable to sleep on my side (I have occasional trouble with insomnia and try sleeping in all positions). UNBOXING: About 50” x 66” when first unfolded, it slowly expanded over the next few hours (see photos). It came in a small box:; 14” square by 23” tall. However, I don’t expect it will ever be that small again. It was held by a 20”-wide hoop of plastic which I cut using the cutter provided. After I unrolled the topper, I could see that it was in a plastic bag. I cut the end (using the same cutter) and wiggled the bag down off the topper. Now, I saw that it was also wrapped in a white woven fabric and folded in thirds. I opened the folds to get the topper as flat as feasible and left it there on top of that white woven fabric (see photos). It would have been convenient to leave it in the guest room, but that room is closed off. We don’t condition the space unless we have a guest. Instead, I set the mattress pad on our Hobby Room Table. It does not have a strong or noxious odor. The instructions suggested allowing it to breathe for 48 hours -- I left it out for 3 days. After that, the aroma was almost imperceptible. It was slightly smaller than my mattress - maybe an inch in both directions. My mattress is an older style - about 9” thick; whereas, my sheets are the new “deep pocket” style. It was kind of strange not having inches of fabric to tuck under the mattress, but the sheets easily covered both the mattress and the topper. If you have a thicker mattress, you should check to see if your sheets can accommodate this thick topper. I suppose sheets could compress the outer edges without damaging the topper’s performance. I just suggest looking for a different reviewer who tried it on a thick mattress. Also, I haven't tried this mattress on any hot nights, but it has been comfortable -- not too hot or too cold (in March).

As someone with a lot of back issues, I wanted a high-quality memory foam topper to provide additional support, cooling, and comfort at night. I opted to try this Lucid Comfort Collection 3-inch foam topper and, so far, I've been quite pleased. The topper arrived in a roll that you must lay out on a flat surface for approximately 24 hours. This allows the topper to fully expand. There was some slight outgasing as well; I laid mine out on my patio to prevent any fumes from being in my home. The topper is very comfortable and it provides a solid amount of additional support. I prefer to have it under my flat sheet and, surprisingly, my sheet still fits over the 3-inch foam. That's a big plus. I'm not sure about the "aloe-infused" feature, as I don't notice this at all. I suppose, if you're sleeping directly on the foam, there may be some skin benefits, but this does not apply to me. Overall, the set-up was very easy. The topper is light enough to easily carry up two flights of stairs (which I did) and also easy to place on the bed. I'm definitely more comfortable at night, which was my main purpose for getting this product.

Firm and good cushion for the body. We put this topper on a mattress that was shorter than we liked for the bed. The 3" made a difference (see photos) and made our sheets fit better. Now when you go to sit on the side of the bed, you can feel the difference. The memory topper comes is a small box and when you open it, you don't know what to expect. Following the instructions to wait 48hrs before using, we watched this topper expand to the queen size mattress it was on. Technology is amazing. The memory foam gives excellent support to the body. I was waiting to feel trapped in memory foam, but that didn't happen. It held firm and allowed me to move easily in and out of the bed.

The foam pad came packed in a box. The “Read Before Opening” guide advised to remove the plastic packaging, place the topper on a flat surface in a well-ventilated room and allow to expand for 48 hours. Then top your mattress with the Lucid Foam Mattress Topper and enjoy. We did as instructed, and did enjoy a very good night sleep! The topper was not overly deep, so we had no problem turning over or getting out of bed. It also kept us cool. There was a slight odor, which disappeared after a few days. NOTE: Because the topper is 3” deep, be sure your sheets will fit over both your mattress and the topper. If you use fitted bottom sheets, the sheet will keep the topper from moving around on your mattress. Comes with a 3-year limited warranty. A mattress topper cover is available, which is recommended. This cover will help keep the topper in place better.

I was totally amused by the size of the box and how it was packaged. Instructions say to lay it out for two days before use. Sure enough, it enlarged to a 3 inch (I measured to confirm) memory foam topper. I though it was supposed to smell like Aloe but I smell nothing. I Slept on it for a couple days and really like it. It sinks in while you lay in it and shortly after you get out of bed, it goes back to it's regular shape. It has a 3 year warranty, so let's see how long it actually lasts.

The experts say you're supposed to replace your mattress every 6 to 8 years. But those experts are the ones selling you the mattresses to begin with, and they can get really expensive. I say don't replace it, top it with a memory foam pad and sleep well again. When this Lucid twin topper came it was in such a tiny box that I thought I got the wrong order, but it was vacuum packed to such a thin state that it took a day and a half for it to reach full size. But the wait was worth it - he difference in comfort is like night and day, I can sleep on my side again without neck or shoulder pain. We might also roll this topper up and take it glamping and not curse those really thin air pads. Think about it - roughly sixty dollars to give new life to a mattress that would cost you hundreds to replace is just a no brainer.

Amazing and comfy too!! It was so hard to believe that when I opened the shipping package that is odd shaped, lumpy, rippled mattress topper would be any good. But after laying it down on the floor for just a few hours (instructions say to leave it laid out like this for 48 hours before using), I was amazed that it was the correct shape and smooth. I was glad it had this white, removable gauze type material on one side of the topper so that it stayed clean while I had it laying on the floor. It fit on our queen bed perfectly. It does help with my bad hip joint when sleeping because it sinks down in the areas where I have curves in my body.
