Essies Does Her Job
Though definitely pricey, the priduct was not difficult to install with generall mechanical knowledge. Two people needed at some points. Linking directions via Alexa is not always succesful, but I love being able to keep a constant temperature, and doing a quick hand rInse with a wave on and off.

Beautiful on the surface, but...
I bought the Moen Essie Pull-Down faucet in January 2021. After 1 month of normal use, I had to order a new gasket. It's now May and I need another new gasket. There appears to be either a major design flaw in the faucet, or the gasket needs to be manufactured from a tougher material. Simple, every day usage has shredded the plastic gasket. I couldn't have imagined a flaw of this nature. I now have to buy a new faucet (different brand) so I can return the Moen Essie, because I have no intention of changing the gasket every 3 months.

    Cooks best friend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The set up is easy!!! My husband did the whole thing in less than an hour. He said the set up is simple, they thought of everything to make it user friendly including a tool to make installing it behind the sink. That can be really tight, but not with the reach tool. The app setup was easy too. The faucet is beautiful and goes with any style. The pull down sprayer is handy and goes right back into place easily. I love that I can cook and get my hands dirty without slopping up the handle. I can use the sensor or just tell it to turn on! We connected it to our Alexa device, wow! This is my favorite and most used gadget in the kitchen. Telling it to run water at a certain temperature is mind blowing! Wish we had our friends and family here for Thanksgiving to show it off. I'm over the moon with this intelligent and innovative faucet!

Fantastic! Had for a few weeks already and it hasn’t had any problems. It’s fun to see the water usage! Definitely would recommend! Easy install! Voice options are great for filling dog bowls, dish water and other things! Hot water is limited to 120f so no scolding hot water at the kitchen faucet! Wave sensor is flawless! Spray power and water flow are excellent!

A IOT faucet? Wow, what a cool concept! Our new Moen Essie faucet not only looks great and is high quality, but it has a very cool feature - it connects to our Google Home. I can give it instructions to provide a cup of 125 degree water or simply to turn the faucet on cold. Very cool, but there's a catch I'll go over later. But first, here are my plans. I own a condo that's about 70 miles away. With no traffic, it takes about an hour to get there and it's near the ocean, so it's a nice getaway for us. The plan was to install our new Essie faucet in the kitchen. I'm working on "modernizing" the home and I've already installed some cool new IOT features. This seemed like a perfect upgrade. I read the instruction and it's maybe a tiny bit more complicated to install. I have no trouble with that. Then I saw the battery box. Oh no! What happens if I get to the condo and one of the batteries is dead? Will the sink function with just the handle? Or will it completely stop working? I don't know and I haven't been able to find the answer. So, next thing I though is that I could hook up an AC converter (to convert to DC power). Nope, can't do it. I'm looking into other options and I'm going to do more research regarding what happens when the batteries are out. I did inspect the parts and the quality is very good. The main body of the faucet is solid and the finish is perfect! The hoses are normal PEX type with fittings attached, just like all modern faucets. There's a nice weight for the pull down sprayer. Even the mounting plate is well made - it's solid metal - nice and heavy! All in all, very good quality. Overall, I like the faucet and the build quality. I just need to find out about what happens when the batteries go out.

Best faucet ever! I first was attracted to this fixture by its gooseneck design. Many faucets have insufficient reach from the deck on which they're mounted. And everyone desires a bit of that "pot-filler" clearance under the spout - without going full commercial with a wall-mounted spigot. This faucet fulfills both those objectives in style, particularly if you have a reasonably deep sink basin. As a bonus, there are several stylish finishes available. And the touchless feature saves wiping down those noticeable 'kitchen contents' fingerprints and dribbled wet spots from manipulating handles and knobs. Everything about this faucet can be hands-free automated, save the booster button / sprayer selection / extending the spray head. See photographs 1 and 2. An LED on the faucet neck identifies whether hot or cold water is flowing. See photographs 3 and 4. Following an easy mechanical installation, linking to one's Wi-Fi network is a matter of following the Moen app instructions. I installed it on an Android device. In addition to use commands, the app facilitates monitoring history, consumption and status parameters. The app recognizes standard units of measure and can learn custom quantities as well as individualized routines. As part of the setup, the range of temperatures is established. Some safeguard functions also available; such as auto timeout, battery status (AC adapter is an option), freeze prevention. Thus, the faucet becomes a cook's assistant - as it can be asked to dispense a specific quantity at a specific temperature. One of its very useful built-in routines is hand washing. See the attached video. Some of my acquaintances looked at this faucet as unnecessarily elaborate - then become fascinated with unique customizations for favorite dishes we prepare. A less fancy, buth very practical, application is simply to draw water at a preferred temperature (by voice activation / while otherwise busy) rather than standing about - "testing" the temperature as the water tempers and one fusses with HOT and COLD knobs... One can place a container under the faucet, go about other duties, and call for the needed water when sought to add it to the recipe, or ready for rinsing prepared food / dirty dishes. Since installing this faucet, I spend less time at the sink - either "operating" it or cleaning up about it. I anticipate less effort changing faucet cartridges in the future.

This 1 flaw should have stopped production.
First, I am still loyal to both HD and (although much more cautious), Moen. Both stand behind their products quite well, and if I wanted to remove this faucet, I am sure HD would give a refund. Moen's Lifetime warranty has won me over for the past 30 years when replacing kitchen, bath and laundry room faucets. Their customer service is the gold standard.... With all this in mind, why do I say that the Moen Essie Stainless steel single-Handle High Arc Pulldown kitchen faucet (Mod 87014EWSRS) should be recalled? The One design flaw that makes this faucet a disaster waiting to happen is that the faucet neck rotates 360°, which means that with an accidental slip, one could easily rotate a faucet over the countertop on an island sink. I cannot imagine ANY scenario with a pull down/out water nozzle when one would want the faucet to rotate anywhere beyond the 180° confines of a large double sink. When buying the sink at HD, I DID check the spec sheet and it says it rotates 180°. It was not until a few days after I completed installation that, with that ACCIDENTAL slip, that I discovered that it actually rotates 360°. Assuming that I missed something when installing, I checked Moen's directions. No mention of the 360° rotation. I emailed Moen (due to COVID no one answered the phone). The response was: "The spout is designed to rotate 360 degrees. Please see the following link to view the specifications page: https://www.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/87014ewsp.pdf OK……so Home Depot's spec sheet was wrong. Maybe they didn't believe a firm with Moen's stellar history and reputation would design anything with this flaw, and typed in 180°, thinking their 360° must be a typo. Then to add insult to the folly, their email states: "We’d like to email you a coupon for up to 65% off and free shipping on up to any 3 items on our Moen PLUS Loyalty website. You'll receive an email shortly with the coupon offer and link to the Moen PLUS site. The code will expire in 7 days." REALLY????? Like buying a faucet is an elastic demand item, on which an offer of a huge discount will make up for their poor design.... but only if I buy more of their product within 7 days. What a slap in the face!!!!! I will be sending a copy of this review to Moen's upper management, because I expect that some manager of engineering failed to catch the design flaw on the front end, and doesn't what to explain why they should recall thousands of faucets, and refund all that money. This debacle is and should be, and career-ender for her or him.

Hello FixitDAD and thank you for your feedback on the Home Depot website for the Moen Essie Touchless 1-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with MotionSense Wave and Power Clean in Spot Resist Stainless. We appreciate you taking the time to make us aware of the incorrect specification sheet and we are working with Home Depot to have this updated. The spout for the Essie Wave as well as all of our other pull down style faucets without a top sensor does rotate 360 degree. We do appreciate your business and we regret our product did not meet your expectations. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. Our business hours are 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday. Moen

We have had our MOEN U by Essie Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Smart Kitchen Faucet with Voice Control in Spot Resist Stainless for three weeks. We took to the no-touch water dispensing fast. No doubt we are saving money. The ability to wave the water off when you would normally leave it running because your hands are soapy alone saves money and water. Of course you can also accidentally turn it on easily; which is done in the video when demonstrating the movement of the arm. Of course being able to tell Google to ask Moen to dispense even something as small as two tablespoons of water is great. It works well. The only issue we have found is they do not accommodate for the air bubble that sits on top of the water. You can see in the photo 1/4 cup came out with the bubble line at 1/4 and not the actual water. In the video 1/3 cup was asked for and the actual water stops at 1/4 cup because the bubble line is at 1/3 cup. One other issue we think Moen should consider is that everyone's voice is different. Our assistant hears "mowing" when one person in our house says "Moen". It is actually funny, but as a result he can not use the smart feature. Although you can name your faucet a names your assistant would recognize from everyone you still have to say, "….tell Moen to tell Vincent…" It would be great if Moen could find a way to skip their name and just say, "…tell Vincent to dispense…". Aside from those things we have had no issues in asking Moen to do anything. Of course this is not instant heat. If you are asking for a particular temperature the faucet needs to run to get up to temp and then will let you know so you can wave your hand over to get the water. The light on the top of the faucet also lets you know the approximate temperature as it ranges from blue for cold up to red for hot and transitions through shades of pink and purple in between the two. There is an issue in getting a low stream when using the handle. It goes from off to full pressure; no in-between that we have figured out yet. There are a few drips that can fall out after use (see the video); it seems some water is retained in the head of the faucet. The boost pressure is good. While the arm does not move all the way flush with the edges of the sink (see video), which our previous faucet did and was a nice feature, the pull down works well. Installation was not too bad. Took about an hour including removal of the old faucet. The base of this one is much smaller and we had to remove some hard water deposits from the previous faucet. Overall we are extremely pleased. We are looking forward to lower water bills.

I have tried out multiple smart faucets from a few different brands. Hands down, Moen has the BEST smart capability. It is not even a competition. Moen's measurements for dispensing specific amounts of water is much more accurate than competitors. They have a lot more smart features surrounding water temperature as well which is really nice. Set up is a breeze and only took a half hour to install everything. The sensor to turn on the faucet hands free is FAR superior to its competitors. This faucet does not turn on and off when there is steam from hot water. This is a major problem for Moen's competitors. This faucet stays off when its supposed to and comes on when its supposed to. Basically, if you want the best function for smart features and hands free, go with Moen. Now onto why I don't like the faucet and why I took off a star even though it was far superior to its competitors. 1. By far the most annoying thing is that the pull-down spray head does not dock properly or lock into place. It often just flops around or has a visible gap between the spray head and faucet arm. This is unacceptable in such an expensive faucet. 2. Another annoying thing is that the handle position for hot water is moving the handle up while cold water is moving the handle down. This is the opposite of what it is for most faucets. You cannot switch the hot and cold water lines to make it a normal set up because of the temperature smart features. It breaks those capabilities if you try to switch the cold and hot water lines. 3. By default, this faucet throttles your water pressure and you must hit the button on the spray nozzle to get full water pressure. This is extremely annoying and defeats the purpose of hands free. They call this button the power clean function, but really it is just normal water pressure versus throttled water pressure. 4. Another annoying thing is that Moen does not include their AC adapter in the package for the option of plugging in the faucet. Competitors did include an AC adapter. You can find third party AC adapters for the faucet for a fairly affordable price though.

Easiest installation ever! The wife loves this facet and gives it 5 stars, but I'm more picky and give it 4. The brushed stainless finish looks great and the facet's movement is incredibly smooth. The hand's free sensor works marvelously. The sensor is not only more hygienic, but also cuts down on the amount of water that winds up on the facet body and counter when frequent hand washings are needed. I do one or two facet installs a year and this install was the easiest I've ever done and it took maybe 15 minutes after I had the old facet removed. The wires and hoses are plenty long. The only hiccup was I had to press the nearly invisible reset button with a paper clip because the facet didn't work immediately. You must set up it's wifi within 5 minutes (I think) of plunging it in, which the wife was able to do rather easily. I tested its measurement accuracy and found it to be spot on. Fine engineering is evident when you notice things like a ball joint being used at the spray head to reduce strain and increase flexibility. Why only four stars? 1) It doesn't work with my Alexa devices. If you install Alexa on your I phone it'll work fine, but I refuse to use my phone for that task--- I already have a device in the kitchen! Maybe a Google device will work better. My wife has no problem using her phone to control the facet--just my personal stubbornness. 2) It's wasteful of water in my opinion. There is no fine control to reduce the flow of water. You can vary it a little manually, but it starts at a generous flow instead of a trickle. If you want a reduced flow for things like washing off vegetables from the garden or rinsing off a washed pan you're not going to get it. The mounting hardware is on the flimsy side, but that may be on purpose to prevent cracking a counter top. The washer/nut should distort before damaging a counter. The device to plug into a wall socket is way overpriced. The control box is completely hidden behind my sink, but I put the battery pack at a more accessible location.

This MOEN U BY ESSIE SINGLE-HANDLE PULL-DOWN SPRAYER SMART KITCHEN FAUCET WITH VOICE CONTROL IN SPOT RESIST STAINLESS is another fine innovation from a leader in faucets. The installation instructions are well illustrated but some knowledge in plumbing is helpful for a quality installation. The pairing was a bit tedious but after updating my first generation Echo the unit connected. Moen products are known for their quality and long-lasting finishes. The touch feature is perfect for those hands-free moments while cooking and the voice activation is helpful in a busy kitchen. This technology prevents cross contamination while cooking. A piece of mind here! This technology does take getting used to but in no time one will be accustomed to the units operation. If it is in one's budget I recommend this technology and beautiful faucet. I own a similar unit in my bathroom and would like to share a few helpful tips : 1. Lay everything out and review the instructions before attempting to install. Laying under a sink is a challenge and missing a step is frustrating. 2. Lots of space and access to the battery box is needed. Plan the area for the units boxes to allow items kept under the sink from interfering. 3. Cats love to lick the faucet. Just sayin' but true. This could activate the unit. Make sure your spigot is over a sink and the stopper is out to avoid a water mishap. 4. The unit will operate for months using quality batteries. Duracell batteries are included and with my experience perform the best. Using cheap batteries will frustrate you. You get what you pay for here. 5. Check for leaks after installation. Twice. Laying down newspaper is a simple check. Sometimes just a tweak here and there is all that is needed. 6. The placement of the faucet hose is crucial for it's smooth operation. No two sinks are the same and the hose can snag on plumbing fittings underneath. Have another person pull the hose out to full extension while you monitor the movement underneath. Make any needed adjustments. 7. Putting items under the sink may interfere with the operation of the unit and reduce quick access. This unit uses a lot of real-estate under one's sink. Plan the best layout and try and avoid too much clutter. 8. The unit fits many hole configurations. For four hole sinks, simply add a soap dispenser sold here at The Home Depot to avoid purchasing a new sink or a stainless blank cap. 9. Patience is the key to a quality installation. Enjoy the project and take needed breaks. Being in a hurry causes leaks and sometimes ugly words. Relax. 10. Most important: Using this new technology requires acclimating one's self to it. Using this new technology takes awhile to get used to but once mastered it can be a helpful tool in the kitchen. Before returning the unit to the store (in frustration) give it a chance. You will be glad you did. Overall, another quality product from a name we know and trust. A very nice product!

Beautiful! This is a fantastic looking faucet is LOADED with tech features, but the tech only matters if the faucet works well as a faucet. Good news—this is the best faucet I’ve ever tested, and we plan to leave this one on our sink indefinitely. The spray head has a nice feel and switches between stream and spray easily, and the boost button does actually boost the water pressure by about 20% (just my guess). That boost button is a big deal because the normal pressure default is plenty, and since the water pressure is turned down a bit is not just good for water usage, but it means the spray doesn’t go all over the place like it does with other faucets with just a single pressure setting. “Hey Google, ask Moen to dispense 32 oz of water.” Voice commands for a faucet? YES! I thought that was silly until I used it—I can ask for water at a certain temp, I can ask for it to help me wash my hands (it turns on, I lather up, then it turns off for 20 seconds while I wash, then comes back on automatically), I can ask for 8 oz or 10.5 cups of water, etc. A fantastic feature is the timeout feature—I have mine set to 1 minute. After the water has been running for a minute, it turns itself off, regardless of the handle position. It can be set to 1, 2, 5, 15 or 60 minutes. The control box has a built-in thermometer. If “Freeze Protection” is turned on, the faucet will trickle when low a cabinet temperature is sensed. This single feature could save thousands of dollars! Clearly, we are huge fans of this faucet. One final note: the motion sensor works so well that we use it almost exclusively. This is the best motion sensor ever incorporated into a faucet. This may be the best faucet ever produced. We’ve tried and tested nearly a dozen in the last few years in our home, and this is by far the best we’ve used.

MOEN U Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Smart Kitchen Faucet with Voice Control in Spot Resist St...
MOEN U Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Smart Kitchen Faucet with Voice Control in Spot Resist Stainless This is an outstanding faucet!! Installation could not have been easier. Simply remove your old faucet and follow the step by step instructions of the excellent installation manual. It seems very few manufactures provide a good manual or they send you to the web to try and locate one, kudos to Moen for providing this in the box. There is a control box that needs to be used with the faucet, Moen designed this very cleverly, the control box snaps onto the bottom of the faucet plumbing making installation a breeze and minimizing space. This faucet needs power to work, Moen provides a battery box and six D cell batteries, the battery box mounts inside your cabinet and plugs into the control box. I happened to have a 9V 2 amp power supply laying around and I have an AC plug under my sink so I did not use the batteries. Moen also sells an AC power supply and adapter that allows you to plug the faucet into both the battery and AC at the same time, the advantage would be that if you lose AC power your faucet would still work via the batteries. Once installed and plugged into power the faucet will work simply by waving your hand over the sensor or by using the handle but to get the most out of the faucet you will want to install the Moen app. The app not only allows you to easily install the Alexa and Google integration but it also has a lot of other cool features. When you first set this up the app will run the faucet for a number of minutes to determine your hottest and coldest water temperatures. You can then ask for hot water or even water at a specific temperature. You can also ask for specific amounts of water, 6oz, 2/3 cup etc. You can also setup presets, I have one for oatmeal, I ask Moen to run oatmeal, the faucet turns on and runs the water until it is hot, then it turns off, I place my bowl under the faucet and wave over the sensor and the faucet dispenses 6oz of hot water, very cool. The app also shows you the history of your water usage, the temperature the water was dispensed at and if it was turned on via sensor or by hand. You can also see the state of your batteries. There are also timeouts for running water that can be adjusted, these are great for someone who has an animal that may inadvertently turn on the water. I have both Alexa and Google home, the integration works well with both but it is annoying to have to ask Moen to do something. Most all other home automation systems you simply ask Alexa or Google for what you want. When the water is turned on the faucet runs at a lower pressure, the pressure can be increased by a button on the head. The pressure returns to normal when the faucet is turned off. This really helps to prevent water splashing everywhere. We almost always use the sensor to turn the faucet on and off. I had no idea how convenient this would be. With our old faucet every time we turned the faucet off with our wet hands we had to wipe up water that ran down from the handle, that problem is now gone. The faucet comes with a terrific warranty, lifetime on mechanical components and 5 years on electronics. The faucet looks terrific and performs brilliantly. After using this for a few weeks we love it and would never go back to a non-sensor kitchen faucet. Pros: Great instructions, Easy install, Looks great, Sensor works perfectly, provides specific amounts of water, Outstanding warranty, Great app. Cons Home automation (ask Moen) command could be better

I like it. It looks nice; the sensor works and the faucet is internet-enabled. I can use Alexa if I want to activate it. If I have dirty hands, I can wave my hand in front of the sensor to turn the water on or off. I still have to move the lever for a mix of hot and cold water. The faucet does present well in terms of appearance. I believe the faucet will not work (produce water) unless there is power (batteries or a $90 AC adapter). I like the spray. The water flow is what I would expect-strong. Installation is not so hard but I am a big guy so I just take out the sink and attach everything, then reinstall. There is a small plastic tab that goes just an inch onto the faucet stem and that is where the water transfer box is (see the picture) and it is a good thing to note the tab just goes on an inch and it is where the transfer box hangs. The transfer box has a clip that you push onto the pastic tab. Then you tighten the tab a few turns to hold the transfer box in place. When I say transfer box, it is a box that you connect the pull-put sprayer to, and from the same box, you have the hot and cold water lines coming out of it. There is a faucet cord, and another cord from a battery pack (if you use batteries instead of the AC adaptor (barries are included but AC adapter is purchase separately). These two cords also plug into the transfer box. It was about two hours to remove the old faucet and sink, and put the new faucet and sink back. I did call Moen for one thing. Today is Tuesday; I received an afternoon tech call appointment for three days later (this coming Friday). Fortunately, the instructions are great; I figured out my issue by myself. Everything was packaged nicely but there was a missing mounting clip for underneath the sink. I lifted everything out of the box and found it. It was loose by itself. It is an important part to be loose in the box. There is a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty seems better than competitors' warranties. If a person is handicapped (limited use of hands) then I can really see where the sensor technology is wonderful. The deck plate looked like quality material but I have a one-hole sink so I did not use the plate. In other words, the faucet will fit and look great on existing three-hole sinks because of the enclosed deck plate. I have no idea how long the batteries will last. I plan on getting the AC adapter. Based on the look , feel, operation, warranty, and new sensor technology, I recommend this faucet. I am quite pleased with it.

Awesome. Well engineered faucet with really well-thought out smart features. The unit's styling is very elegant and matches the other brushed nickel fixtures and appliances perfectly. The flow is good at 1.5 gallons per minute, and while producing a good stream, is not overpowering like others we've had that splash everywhere. The PowerBoost feature works well and is enabled by a button that on other sprayers turns off the water flow The unit has 3 modes of operation - Manual with the handle, sensor to detect hand waving and network commands from a Voice Assistant. All three work very well. The wave sensor is great. We've used others that required us to touch it to activate or re-activate it. The wave sensor is way better. The "manual" action works well, as expected, however, it appears to actually be electronically activated. The Voce Activated capability is really cool and is the highlight of this units engineering. The Moen app is really thorough, well laid out and highly intuitive to run. There are two Moen apps, one for Showers and the other for Smart Faucets. They are not interchangeable, as the Shower app will not work with the Smart Faucet. They appear to be written completely independently. The app connects the computer to the home network and then "learns" the house, which basically means is determines how cold the cold water is and how hot the hot water is. That way, when you command the unit to dispense at a given temperature it can advise if that temp is achievable. There are many settings that can be edited, but the defaults are all quite logical and good. The phrases are surprisingly powerful and useful. We used an Echo unit and Alexa and found the skill to be quite capable. We really liked the ability to "Ask Moen" to dispense a specified amount of water. We checked this to verify its accuracy and found it to be very accurate. This capability is very, very cool. Installation was surprisingly easy and was done in a half hour. The control module on this unit does everything and requires only connection of the two supply lines and the faucet line. A battery pack with 6 D cells, which are supplied, although an AC Adapter is also available. If the network connection drains the battery too quickly, we may opt for that later. The wire between the controller and battery pack is long enough to easily route to the front of the cabinet to allow easy battery replacement. Moen even supplied cable ties to get a clean install look. Moen is known for their excellent engineering, going way back to Alfred Moen who invented the single-handed mixing faucet . The controller appears to do all the mixing in this unit and is really well done. We've installed two other smart faucets and this one is hands down the best of the bunch. We're really impressed with the brilliant design of the unit, the app and its performance. Highly recommend this.

MOEN U by Essie Stainless Smart Kitchen Faucet with Voice Control - beautiful finish and great quality but I have to decide if all these features are necessary to get water from a kitchen faucet. First off, let me say this is a really nice quality faucet, everything from the finish, to the stainless metal housing to the supply hoses, all great quality and should last for years. The thing I can’t decide is whether I need all the extra features like voice control and a motion sensor in my kitchen faucet? I am at work most of the day and probably use my kitchen faucet at most no more than an hour total so do I want these luxuries or does it make me more lazy? Getting to the style and materials of this beautiful faucet, all of the housing and connections are stainless brushed nickel metal, the adapter on the pull out hose is chrome, I would prefer if it was a brush nickel or brush stainless , it would look much better if it matched the brushed finish but it is not a deal breaker, it is really not visible since it is inside the neck of the faucet. The hoses are a made of a quality braided material and they were long enough to reach the water turn off valves . The valve is made of ceramic and a counter top deck plate is included. It is nice that the plate is included in the box because often you have to purchase this item separately and the finish may not match exactly . The plate will cover a 3 hole counter top so no worries if you have extra holes cutout on your counter. The other item included in the box is a plastic tool to tighten the plastic nut under the counter. If you have ever changed out a faucet it can be tough to get to the fastener nut under the sink so this makes the installation much easier. The one thing that stands out on this faucet in my opinion is the finish, it is a beautiful frosted stainless, similar to a brush nickel but much prettier than my other brush stainless faucets and hardware. The faucet is 15.5 inches high and the spout reach is 7.5 inches so it is not excessively tall. The style of this faucet is very simple so it can be used with almost any décor styles, modern to traditional. Installation of the actual faucet is fairly easy considering all of the additional connections for the sensor and WIFI connection. Usually removing the old faucet takes longer than the install because parts or connections can be rusted or just stuck. When I ordered this I did not realize all of the extra hardware and boxes necessary to connect to WIFI. I have limited space under my sink because I have a water filter system and large garbage disposal under the cabinet so if you order this make sure you have space for the WIFI junction box and the battery pack, both of which are fairly large. The battery pack uses 6 AA batteries and I am not sure how long these batteries will last with frequent use but there is an option to purchase an AC battery pack (about $90) which gives you constant power but takes additional space under the sink. This system occupies a lot of cabinet real estate so if you have limited space you may want to think twice about this purchase. To use the voice control feature you will obviously need an internet connection, and a hub such as Alexa or Google Assistant and you will need to install the Moen app. This seems like a lot to get water from your kitchen sink and it is all for not if you cannot get an internet connection which was my biggest problem. My modem is on the second floor and I could not get the faucet to connect to WIFI. A WIFI extender may be a good purchase if you cannot get a connection. If you are able to get it to connect you can use the voice control through the hub, the app or manually but you must have a power source to get water out of the faucet so no matter what, you do need the battery pack or AC pack connected to get water. I am moving to a one story home n a month so I am going to take this faucet with me and try to connect it in my new home, This Moen Essie faucet has a lifetime limited warranty . Moen faucets are manufactured in China and Malaysia but also has some manufacturing in the US. It does not clearly state where this faucet was manufactured. Overall, this is a beautiful faucet, it is made of good quality materials and has a beautiful style and finish. The Smart feature can be difficult to install and connect if you do not have a good internet connection and the system takes a good bit of space under your kitchen counter. I recommend this faucet if you like technology but I am not so sure I need all of the various features just to get a little water out of my kitchen faucet.

Moen Smart Faucet ,if your finding the style that meets your needs this product is up there with the best in the Smart faucets. Know up front you need to load an app and have a voice command system from either Google or Alexa to keep the full benefits of this product. The install is two parts , the faucet then the app along with pairing the faucet to your network . Sounds scary but very straight forward . Installing the faucet is quite simple with all the required materials. You will probably spend more time removing your old faucet then installing this new system . With a unique control box that connects with the hot and cold water inlets. The faucet then connects to the box via clip on lines. This needs room in the cabinet along with a battery supply box. If under sink cabinet is cluttered with other items some planning will be needed. Single hole faucet install or it has a bezel to cover remaining holes in a three hole system. The faucet and head have a nice feel the performance seems about the same are the faucet we are replacing . I have not observed splattering as in other reviews. Using the sensor in the faucet works well and seamless but not sure if it will be cumbersome at this point. Our old faucet sensor was at the bottom where it meets the sink and well many times got soaked if I passed my hand across the area. With this faucet being higher I still have misfired while wiping down the area and now know where our daughters cat travels at night. Time will tell . I really wish this thing plugged into a wall socket . Changing a bunch of d cell batteries will become old cuz you know when they will die and at what point do you abandon the system . It took me 6 months on our old system to abandon the smart sensor. The smart app and control , disappointed this is not an open platform for other speaker systems . It's Google or Alexa at this point , I think Siri our Home system or Bixby our (refrigerator) are going to get jealous. Using a Google system does work fine pairs up well and the commands seems to work. Not allot of information available but I can tell you the magic box works a sensor for water temperature and volume. Seems pretty accurate and works with the voice command about as well as other Google speaker units. As I dig deeper I hope to find out min and max values etc. So keep in mind this faucet relies on your water supply for heating and cooling and pressure. For me I really don’t use the faucet for cooking or drinking using our water supply from our RO system for consumption. Lots of room for innovation but this is a good start that is better than my earlier generation system.

This MOEN U Faucet with Voice Control is awesome, I really love it. It's an elegant looking faucet and the Spot Resistant Stainless finish fits in well with my other appliances. Straight out of the box, aside from the battery compartment and control box, there's not much to it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a matching deck plate included, most of the faucets I've purchased in the past did not come with one and I had to find one that didn't stand out due to finish differences. The Installation was super easy, you don't have to drill any holes to hold the computer box, it clips right onto the threaded post of the faucet after it's installed. You do have to put a screw in the wall somewhere to hold the battery compartment, but you can place it pretty much anywhere because the power cable is pretty long. The most difficult part for me with this entire installation was getting the hose and weight to pull straight up without hitting anything on the way, because I have a hot water re-circulator which adds more lines under my sink. This faucet is about 2" shorter than the previous faucet I had but it's still beautiful. My wife hated that last faucet and wanted it swapped out because the spray was too powerful and it always got water all over the place from the splash. This faucet has just the right amount of power and it has a booster button on the pull down head, if you think you need a little more power out of the sprayer you can click the button and it boosts it up. You can boost both the standard stream and the spray stream. The pull-down handle is nice and long and is able to go outside the range of my 32" sink, should I need it (this is nice when filling my beer brew equipment). As for faucet operation, it works great, nearly flawless. You can operate the faucet using the handle, by waving your hand over the sensor (hasn't failed yet), by using the Moen app, or by using voice with Alexa or Google. I have a Google Home system, and this is the only somewhat disappointing part so far. Typically, no matter what device you have, the apps link up to Google Home and you just ask Google to take care of the task and the app integration works behind the scenes. As of right now, and it may be because the app sync with Google Home is new and isn't perfect yet, you have to ask Google to ask Moen to perform a task. If you don't ask it to ask Moen, it tells you that "You May Want to Use Moen for that, Would you like to try?" At that point you say yes and then tell it what you want to do. But it doesn't leave the communication with Moen open, so you have to ask it again. It just makes the process long and drawn out at that point. Now, if you get into the habit of asking Google to ask Moen, you should be fine, or at least until the integration is more seamless. On a super positive note, and the best way to leave this review, is that you can ask it to fill in measurements. That's right, you can ask Google to ask Moen to fill 8 oz of water and it will do just that and turn off. I've used a measuring cup to check the measurements and it's pretty spot on. Since I'm a homebrewer it's nice to be able to set up a carboy or bucket and tell the faucet to dispense 2.5 gallons of water and then have it shut off on it's own. You can also ask it to fill cold water, hot water, or medium water. It also has presets in it's settings to automatically turn off the water after certain periods if it's on and you forgot about it. All-in-all I would gladly purchase more of these faucets for other areas of my home as the convenience is amazing and they look fantastic.

Moen offers top of the line, high quality product and engineering design, materials and manufacturing at an affordable price. Package from HD came very well secured so online ordering is certainly a good and viable risk free option, the product packaging itself was very sturdy and items were well secured and protected from damages. Installation took about 25 min without rushing and required only a screwdriver and a wrench and basic following of the written instructions provided in the package. Installation required access to under the sink and consisted only of tightening the body of the faucet to the counter-top using a large washer and a nut using a plastic tube wrench. This was a good choice as using it you can't really over-tighten it. Very smart and efficient choice by Moen. You use the screwdriver for leverage, just like a spark plug socket. After that it is pretty much plug and play. You connect the water lines, wetting them first, hand-tightening and make half to a full turn using a wrench. Spray head water line is connected to the electronic valve using a push to fit Duralock™ quick connect connection, so no tightening is needed there. I attached the box of 6 D type of batteries to the wall, and with it my installation was complete. Simple as that. Setting up in both Alexa and Google home took almost as much time as the installation itself, but was definitely worth the effort as it offers so many more functionalities like tracking water usage, setting up pressure, temperature, flow rate, settings and also allow to use the faucet by your voice or smartphone. The system took a few minutes to set itself up running cold and then hot water, set a generic lukewarm temperature point that could be adjusted, update firmware and self-diagnose for leaks. All smart faucets have uniquely different design from smart faucets that have a regulating valve detached from the faucet itself. That makes the water valve the most critical component of the faucet. This makes choosing Moen the best choice, not only because of Moen's quality, but also because of the limited lifetime warranty offered and 5-year all around full warranty on the product. Yes, Moen's are a little more expensive, but in my experience totally worth every penny because of functionality, quality and longevity of the product itself. To me the most useful feature is running the water just by a wave, of the type "those are not the droids you're looking for" to turn on and to turn off. It is simply indispensable when you have dirty hands from cooking and this guarantees that your faucet stays clean. I was purposely looking for this flow as it does not allow for any dripping water running down along the spray head as it happened to me with other brands. It can be also operated manually and the spray head has also a flow button which increases the water flow seemingly by 30%. Also another one to switch from flow to spray. The generic water flow is ample at 1.5 gpm and is well aerated, so it doesn't spray around from a more vigorous hand washing. All hoses are pex braided, including the 68" spray head hose. It stands tall at 13.75" which in my case was concerning about if opening a cabinet door will trigger the water flow sensor, but it doesn't. There are a few major points that I see as drawbacks. The manual is printed in small letters and I couldn't really see without my glasses. Using batteries to me is counter intuitive with the power consumption of a flow valve and wifi connectivity so I see purchasing the 169031 AC Adapter with Power Splitter more of a necessity rather than a luxury as I wouldn't want to be left without water because batteries are drained. You can use the app on your phone to monitor batteries level, but to me this is the major drawback and I think an AC adapter should be included in the set, especially with the price range of a product like this one. The optional AC Adapter is about $85 online which is absurdly high for a simple 9 volt adapter. All in all, this is a great product, very dependable water valve and superb design.

Not worth the money ro hassle
It's terrible. It keeps having issues where it will not work. I mess with the power cord and the batteries until it finally works. When this happens it's very inconvenient to not have water in your kitchen sink.

Cant use manually if batteries die
I like the faucet but was quite surprised when I couldn’t use the faucet manually when the batteries died. There’s only 1 person in my household and rhe batteries die every few months. I am looking to buy the ac adapter but looking at the specifications diagrams here on this site I cant see where it evens connects. Hmm 🤔

Hello Janell58 and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Moen website. You are correct, the Moen Essie Smart Kitchen pull-down faucet does require power, from either batteries or the purchased separately AC Adapter Power Splitter, 169031, to operate even the manual handle. The included 6-D Cell batteries have a 2-year life expectancy under normal operation. The batteries must be non-rechargeable alkaline batteries and the faucet must be connected to WiFi to ensure it is running current firmware. The following link will allow you to view the installation instructions for the Moen AC Adapter Power Splitter, 169031: https://solutions.moen.com/@api/deki/files/129661/ins10491.pdf?origin=mt-web
Very Disappointed - Alexa Connection Doesn’t Work
Very disappointed with this purchase because the Alexa skill to operate the faucet via your voice does not work. I expected the technology to be much better given the price of this product. The faucet works well when controlled from the motion sensor or the app, but I purchased this item with the expectation of using voice commands. I would not recommend to anyone or purchase this faucet again.
