Using a fully charged 5Ah battery, Will not sink a trim nail of any length into 1/2 trim. Depth adjustment does not fix the issue.

Have used Mikita tools in my business for years, I highly recommend them !

The gun was as expected. It does occasionally misfire but every gun I've ever owned misfires once in a while. We use it 3-4 times a week. Trim, casing, doors. Perfect.

Worked great the Makita radio, and worked with my other Makita equipment 18V charger. Couldn’t be happier…..and love the heavy duty work site radio also.

This tool is a huge disappointment. I initially purchased it to hang doors. With the 2.5 inch nails at full depth setting, it still left probably an inch of the nail sticking out of the frame. I tried it a dozen times gave up and Returned it. At the high price of ~$350 it cost more than any of the other comparable brand name 16g nailers. Even Milwaukee. I tried my buddy’s dewalt and it was amazing…Im disappointed with most of my Makita 18v tools and i have a boatload of them. Im a professional handyman so i do have a clue.

Its a nice gun…when it works. Have to unplug my battery and reinstall it to get it to shoot once then do it again. When it does shoot its clean and shoots below the surface on old oak.

I love Makita but this nail gun sucks. I have been trying to deal with it for over a year now and it drives me insane. Doesn't want to fire most of the time but will damage the material I am nailing every time I try to fire. So I will have multiple nailing marks but no nail until the second to fifth try nailing. I would not recommend buying this nail gun. I just ordered a Paslode because I can't deal with this piece of crap any longer.

Very pleased with power to weight ratio on my portable tools. My multitool does run through this battery faster than I would like, but less power hungry tools like compact drills work for a good duration on this battery.

This nail gun is ext. it does not work with the BL1815 batteries on the list. I have the 6 batteries (last ones on the list) and it works great.

This was purchased to make reinstalling base boards after vinyl planking. We planked an entire second floor with 35 boxes of Home Depot LVP. Removed existing baseboards in three bedrooms and a hall way. Sanded and painted old baseboards and reinstalled them with the 18v Makita finish nailer. Since I already use the 18v Makita battery platform, this was an obvious choice. Using this tool is easy and the results are clean. Simple to adjustable depth insures the nails are flush to the surface. Just needed to come back and dap a little paint over each finish nail head. As a baseboard nailer, the lower nail is driven in with the tool upside down. Just make sure to keep the forward pressure to insure full drive. 5amp battery seems to last forever. Could use a smaller 2 amp battery for weight saving.

The battery is very expensive, nearly the cost of the drill.

Nice size and weight. I have 5ah but was looking for something smaller when working around the shop. Used it when installing a fence and it didn’t have enough run time. I mainly run Dewalt but Makita’s impact (XDT16) is really nice so this battery was a welcome addition.
