Q:What other brands of nails will fit this gun?

1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The nailer is not limited to DEWALT nails but they would not have been tested by DEWALT with the nailer. The nails would have to meet the following specifications. Nail Specifications Nail Lengths 1 1/4" – 2 1/2" (32 mm 64 mm) Shank Diameters 15 gauge Nail Stick Angles 34º

Q:Why are there so many comments on a nail gun when this listing is for a drill?

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, All DEWALT 20V batteries and all DEWALT 20V tools are compatible. Please note some tools require more power than others, so a higher Ah/Amp battery will provide longer runtime.

A:  Go look at Milwaukee tools. Same thing. Looked at a Finish Nailer because it had awesome reviews. But then when you start looking at comments under the nailer I was looking at, over 1/2 the reviews were for other Milwaukee products. Misleading.

A:  I'm pretty sure that if HD is discontinuing a product and the web page for it has good reviews they will replace the discontinued product with another products info, price, details, and such in order to make the replacement product appear more desirable.

              Great product, but nails jam
I purchased this product for a ship lap project in one of our bedrooms. The project called for nailing 5/8" MDF ship lap boards into drywall-covered studs. Pretty basic and 15 GA was the recommended size nail. First, I have to say I really like this finish nailer. So much better and convenient than using my compressor. Excellent battery life and does the job quite nicely. Unfortunately, when you get down to about 7 or 8 nails left in a set, the nailer jams. I was using DeWalt 15 GA finish nails. Every set of nails jammed at the last 7 or 8 nails, every time. Extracting the jam is quick and easy, but it leaves a lot of wasted nails. Putting a second set of nails behind the jammed ones does not improve the situation. The nailer clearly doesn't like dealing with those last few nails. I've attached a picture of the nails that got wasted on this relatively small project.

Lots of Power The only complaint is when you use the 2-1/2" Nails they go in tight an the spring load that keeps pressure on them to keep them feeded is not pushing them for the next shot so I push it a little. Also read another Comet with same problem. I'm using galvanized Senco 65 MM so will try the Dewalt if I can find Dewalt Galvanized to see if that fixes the problem will give it the 5 stars. I have tried some Hard wood an worked with no Problem with penetration. Being in a Wheelchair this really makes it a lot easier for all the inside work I'm doing an also used it on outside Siding

                    This thing blows
I purchased this nailer thinking it would help make installation more efficent but it’s had the exact opposite effect. I spend more time clearing it from jams than I do actually installing. Extremely disappointed

                      was good at first
barely put 500 nails through it before it started jamming. as you can see from the picture, it got to be very inconsistent. i had to take the finish nailer back.

This is a big tool. Normally, that would make it difficult to use, but in this case, good balance combined with not having to drag around a hose makes using this nail gun a breeze. I recommend using the included 4 amp-hour battery as the lighter weight of a 2 amp-hour battery leaves the nail gun feeling nose heavy. I would like more adjustment in the drive mechanism. The attached picture shows the nail gun dialed in for maximum, middle, and minimum depth on a standard two-by-four. That said, the drive depth is extremely consistent - more so than normally seen with most air-driven nail guns. The visual adjustment guide is also not at all lined up with the indicator, but that is the only piece of fit and finish lacking on this tool. The inclusion of a pencil sharpener is a bit of a novelty, and the additional nose covers were a nice thought. I particularly appreciate the included hanger, but make sure you have a stout belt or you may find your nail gun and your pants on the floor.

This is a great cordless finish nailer! This is an extremely high quality & durable nailer. The nailer runs off of a 20V Max Lithium Ion battery pack which is somewhat compact in size and offers extreme power. The nailer comes with a battery, charger, nailer, and a very cool contractor bag. The nailer has a removable belt/ utility clip that is easily moved. The lights on the nailer are very nice and located on both sides to illuminate wherever you are working. As far as accuracy, the nailer has a pointed nose for precision nail placement. The nailer has a good feel and appears to be very well balanced. One of the nice features is the rubber bumpers that are found all around the nailer. I have owned other nailers that would constantly scratch delicate surfaces when it was placed out of hand. The bumpers offer protection against this. Near the trigger, there is a lock to avoid accidentally hitting the trigger. Adjusting the depth on the nailer is extremely easy along with switching between single and sequential nailing. The nailer will hold 110 15 GA Angled Finish Nails "DA" Style that measure 1-1/4" to 2-1/2". Overall, this is a extremely high quality nailer. i would strongly recommend. It is very convenient not having to use an air compressor and constantly getting tangled up in air hoses and electrical cords. I would strongly recommend!!

DeWALT’s cordless 15 gauge angled nailer is well designed. It can use fasteners from 1 ¼ in. to 2 ½ in. It operates using a 20 volt lithium ion battery that has an indicator to tell you the amount of power left in the battery. If the battery is running low an LED light above the battery will flash. The fastener depth adjustment is extremely easy to use, and allows you to drive nails flush with the wood, or deeper if needed. Just rotate the depth adjustment wheel to the desired depth. There is a selector switch located below the trigger of the tool that allows you to switch from single shot (T) to bump action fire (TTT). The nailer comes with an easy to load nail bar with a lock button. The nailer has a belt clip which allows you to hook it on your belt, your pants pocket or tool belt. This clip can be switched from right-to left-hand usage. The nailer comes with a sturdy zippered carry case, battery and charger and DeWALT’s Three Year Limited Warranty. However it did not come with any nails. Other great features are - you can see the nails when you’re running low, if it ever jams it has a clip on the front of the nailer that can be popped open to clear the jam, there is also a LED light located above the battery that will flash indicating a nail jam and the gun is oil free. It also comes with a trigger lock-off located next to the trigger to prevent the tool from firing a nail by locking the trigger and bypassing power to the motor. It also has a rubber tip on it so it won't mar the wood surface.
