The 9" chimney cap is a good size for an 8" flue pipe, meaning that it's not too big. However, the fasteners are far to long for this application. The clearance is just 1/2 inch on the each of the 4 sides, but the fastener must be 2" long. It doesn't make for a good finished look, because the fasteners stick out too far.

Quality product made in the USA

My only issue with this cap is that the threaded base ring is not reinforced to prevent the screws from angling off. This makes it very difficult to fet a tight grip to hold the cap in place during strong winds. A welded nut instead of just treading the thin guage metal would likely fix the issue.

Easy and effective. As long as you have enough flu sticking up over the top of the chimney this is as easy as it gets.

No complaints with construction or instructions. The unit is supplied w/ four lag screws to bite into the corners of the clay tile liner. the instructions even mention that these will not damage liner, but I believe that is exactly what will happed if they are used, as they are near the edges of the tile. I purchased a set of short legs to add inside chimney as my tile was flush with top of cement. I could not find these very useful legs at the store and ordered online.

Easy to install, very practical and quickl process

Nice product, well made. I used it to hide an unsightly duct rather than as a chimney cap.

Quick and easy install. Hardest part was climbing on the roof :)

In my application, this product was totally unsuited to the job, so I returned it for a refund. The only screws provided were sharp sheet metal screws. The screw holes at the beveled corners were so flush with my chimney that I would have needed to drill holes into the chimney with a masonry bit to use the screws at all. The design was shoddy and minimal. Sadly, this product was the only choice offered at the store.

The angle on side are too much to match the radius on flue. 9x9 wastoo small with the agl being in the way. Had to get 13x13 and screws wre just enough to hold it on
