Great M12 set.
These are my go to tool set I use 90 percent of the time. They have a lot of power for most jobs and are compact for tight places. They are lighter to use for overhead work or on a latter so they don't hurt your wrist or arms as much. I bought them as kit for 99 dollars. Batteries and charger. I bought the 6ah batteries so I could stand them up and use longer too. HD is authorized seller for warranty service is also very important to me. Came new in original mfg. box.

    Thoroughly Impressed
I'm so happy with my purchase. These little guys are so comfortable to use and quite powerful, even the brushed model. I needed a smaller profile drill for some work I was doing and found these on sale. I had used some Milwaukee in the past but never owned any until now and as my current set of drills and drivers are well used and batteries dying, I can say I'm looking real hard at this brand from now on. I think I will be purchasing an M18 combo soon. Both the M12 and M18 lineup have a great selection. It is safe to say I've switched from a mustard to a ketchup man if you know what I mean. It seems yellow has so many gimmicky things with their different models, I appreciate the simplicity of Milwuakee's lineup. I have some limb trimming to do and my old corded Sawzall ain't what she used to be and I think my next purchase will be a M18 sawzall.

I ended up getting the same set cheaper
So i ended up returning the item in reveiw. I got the exact same set with more bits for a lot cheaper by simply visiting the store on black friday. Excellent customer service that day and my son is happy that he can help his day with some cool projects in the future.

      worth it for the price
For what it cost (99.99) at the time (6/2021) its worth it. Perfect for removing interior bolts and/or drilling sheet metal. I have not drilled anything over 1/4 dia so i a not sure how it will work with a bigger drill. But compared to others overall I love it

Great for light-duty jobs but nothing medium or heavy duty like framing 2x4s with big drill bits
I bought this combo kit and was super excited. I put on a 3/4" pilot-tipped spade bit and began drilling through a 2x4 top plate in my house use the 1 speed setting for control/safety. The drill tapped the spade pilot tip in just fine. Then, the moment the spade hit, it began to bog down and smoke came out the back in seconds. I could see the smoke in my headlamp in the attic. I immediately stopped and let the drill cool down so I didn't do further damage. I was applying no pressure and let the pilot tip do the work. I backed off the moment the drill bound up. I've used dozens of drills in my life as a career engineer and also as a handyman. This light-duty drill wasn't up to the job to tackle drilling holes in 2x4s for electrical work. Then, I tried the Milwaukee with a 3/4" pilot-tipped auger bit and the same thing happened. The drill ran out of torque in moments. I applied zero pressure, only letting the weight of the drill do the pushing. I didn't even get through the first of 3 of the 2x4s (thick top plate) and the battery read 2 out of 4 battery dots. I made sure to go really slow and apply no pressure, stopping and backing out the moment the drill got stopped. I have a dozen holes I need to drill. I'll never get the job done at this rate and will likely kill the otherwise Milwaukee nice drill. I switched to my cheap corded Ryobi 3/8" drill, using the same pilot & auger bits, on the top plate. It bogged down a bit but didn't give up. It blew through the 2x4 in moments with both the spade and auger bits. This is a nice light-duty 3/8" drill but it won't get the job done with 2x4s and pilot-tipped (screw) spade and auger bits bigger than 5/8", though safer with 1/2" spade bits. That's a big maybe because the drill slows down a lot once it gets to 2/4 battery dots, letting the bits get jammed. Bigger pilot-tipped bits are too aggressive for this drill. If you use standard, non-pilot tipped spade bits, it'll be okay up to 5/8" knowing you won't get many holes done. I tested and tested - the pilot tip pulls the bit in too hard for the 3/8" Milwaukee with zero weight applied to the drill. You can see in the picture where the Milwaukee drill runs out of power using a stubby auger bit. The other holes were made with my corded drill with various bits with very little bog-down. I've never tried pilot-tipped bits until now - wow do they get the job done fast with a drill with real power. They're too much for this drill. I tried basic metal and other drill tasks and this one works just fine. Just not for drilling bigger holes in framing 2x4s. Clearly this has to be my mistake - I expected way too much and it's probably not fair to use anything past a 1/2"-5/8" pilot-tipped spade & auger bits with a 3/8" Milwaukee drill. I'm going to try the 1/2" drill brushless Milwaukee model instead. I don't have time to stop, back out, and recharge for this job and hope the drill doesn't smoke.

compare M12 or vs M18 drill driver/ impact driver
OK after 2 yrs of owning both I will hopefully steer you in the right direction. First off I want to say I bought the m12 set. It was super light, fast and stood up to everything I put in front of it. And for the price this was a no brainer. Extremely happy. I thought this was it. Then I bought the M18 for my cabin work. Wow, Can Milwakee make a better driver set then the M12? Yes, the M18. The main pro is the drill does not go into impact mode as quickly or often as the M12 has too. If you are unfamiliar with impact mode it is a loud banging noise that helps the drill get more torque to drill/drive screws. My daughters are always yelling at me when i'm doing projects in the home renovation when the impact mode kicks in and it is so loud. The second biggest pro of the M18, that i did not think about, was that you can stand your drill and impact driver on the ground. with th M18 you have to lay it on it side. This was a big inconvenience was I was framing in basement walls. Bottom line, If you have the money I would not hesatate to buy both sets. Instead of switching out drill bits I just switch out drills. The M12 set you can get for $99 bucks on fathers day. But, if you are only going with one set, buy the M18. Don't cheap out on this one get the m18 and never look back.

Small. nimble yet powerful enough to handle any job
The best feature of this tool set is the compact battery that allows for single hand use of the tool without sacrificing run time. I am able to carry both tools on my hip at the same time which allows for pilot holes with the drill and sinking screws with the driver. I have owned these tools for just over a year and have really put them through the mill with using the tools about a few hours every other week. I have not experienced any battery degradation and charge times are short once you do finally run out of juice. The only complaint i have with these tools is the belt clip, it could be a little easier to get on with one hand but once it is on, it stays on. Try these today for everyday use in your home or shop, you will not be disappointed.

Drill and driver work as good as the 18v ones, but less than half the weight. I bought this set so my kids could help me with projects and they are perfect. My daughter (7) and son (3) can handle them easily enough. Battery life is about what I expected, maybe 15 to 20 min of intermittent hard work drilling and driving into pine studs. The saw also works well and is super easy to handle, it kills the battery fairly quick and the short stroke on it makes some cutting tedious. This set is definitely for light work, but perfect for little helpers. And the price was great.

I love Milwaukee tools, especially these M12 Fuel tools! The 2 driver combo kit we purchased off the shelf was defective. The chuck was not concentric with itself. It ran in a somewhat oval shape. It was the last box on the shelf and the box looked damaged. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, and it was probably not Milwaukee or Home Depot's fault. Home Depot quickly helped me return it and I purchased another kit. The second one came in working great. My co-workers and I work on smaller motors and such. We do not need any larger drill. The weight is great, it's just heavy duty enough for a quality tool, and just light enough to use all day without someone complaining. I now own many Milwaukee products. Perfect. 5 star review

                built to last!
I have owned this set for 5 years. No issues or problems as of yet. Not to take away from any other brand out there competing for our business, milwaukee drill and impact set is still going strong.

Pros: Both tools perform great and operate flawlessly. The batteries last a long time and recharge fully in about 1/2 hour or less. The M12 batteries keep everything compact. One would struggle to find a better drill/driver kit for the money. Cons: The included bag is a little on the small side. Mine can barely fit the tools, 4 batteries, the charger, and a driver bit set.

I purchased 2 Drill Combo sets for employees of a Heating and AC Company in June 2018. They are utilized for light duty as they were for service techs. We have used "D" yellow drills since opening in 1983. I read the reviews for M12 and considered the weight and thought we would give them a try. Unfortunately, the Milwaukee needs repair and there is one service center within a 50 mile radius of Richmond, VA. We called HD who referred us to the manufacture in under a year. If mailed Milwaukee states " freight prepaid and insured, is required" otherwise they should have you back working in 7-10 days! Good thing we have all the original yellows!

I contacted Milwaukee regarding this kit. I am a regular homeowner/hobbiest (not a contractor) but I own a lot of Milwaukee tools. Made a decision back several years and stuck with RED. I was not pleased that the kit Does Not come with the bag pictured. That was a big part of the plan, separate my M12 tools and accessories from my M18 which came with the taller bag pictured. The M12 kit (bag) is a Flat bag barely able to fit the two(2) tools that came in it. So far Milwaukee has not responded, if they do I will update but so far they are not interested in addressing the obvious issue. For this reason I say value is fair at best. IMO loyalty should be rewarded with at least an offer to swap the bag for one that is clearly represented in all pictures associated with this kit.

I'm a handyman and use these tools 3-4 days a week. The included batteries run down on medium size jobs... but upgrade to the bigger batteries and you'll be happy. I've had my set for over 2 years and they still work great. When the set and bigger batteries are on sale (Black Friday) they are an incredible bargain. These replaced for my tired, heavy Milwaukee 18V NiCad tools. The 12V Li Ion does everything they could.

Bought these drills because I ended up with Milwaukee batteries & charger, and I quickly realized how much I love them. Yesterday a flash flood tore through town, caused closed roads and a lot of property damage around town, including soaking my drill set in gallons of flood water, I dried them off after they were drenched for about an hour and they still work perfectly, both the tools and the batteries are still as good as new. While this isn't my normal brand of tools, it's definitely the best set I've every purchased. Between the flooding and the fact that I use them almost everyday, I have absolutely gotten my moneys worth. As a certified technician, an everyday DIYer, handyman and backyard mechanic, I recommend this product for literally anyone who uses a drill, whether professional, home owner, hobbyist, or fellow tool addicts. They are a great investment you won't regret at an amazing price. Plus they come in a really cool color, compact size, and an effortless time stamp warranty that doesn't require filling out little post cards or searching for sites.

I've had this set for about a year and a half and I just bought another set for my sister who's always doing projects around her house and cabin. I also have the M18 set, it's heavy duty for sure, but I find that this size is perfect for 95% of the jobs I & my wife need to do (she love using it too!). It's light, compact and the front LED light is so helpful. The battery run time is also great, it's never been an issue for me. You can see right on the left side the battery level meter as you're working, so you can check it before you go up the ladder or into the attic or crawlspace! LOL....The only difference in the batteries from the 1 to the 4 amp hour is the length of run time, it has no effect on the power of the drill while using it. The batteries are small enough to put in your pocket or tool belt pouch, but what ever you do make sure there is nothing metal like coins in your pocket or nails & screws in the tool pouch!!! My only issue is the location of the forward reverse/switch and how it works. I'm always hitting it by accident. It's actually a 3 way switch that goes thru the body, the middle setting is a lock, so many a time I go to use the drill and the trigger won't go down! I then have to stop what I'm doing and figure out which way the slide switch needs to be to go forward (up looking on the left side) After having Makita drills for 25 years with a slide switch on the back that never ever got in the way...this switch has been kind of a pain in the butt. There is a little arrow in the black switch itself, but it just a depressed arrow with no color like white, so it's very hard to see. A pic below shows what I ended up doing one day in frustration, grabbing a permanent marker and writing on the side which way the switch should be! You would think down would be forward and up would be backward right???? (the direction of a screw) I am also a little surprised that that the paint of the raised Milwaukee logo is coming off so easily. The clutch works great for assembling things that have a bunch of bolts that you want everything to have the same tightness. The 2 speeds also come in handy for some jobs. The batteries themselves can be a little hard to take off at first, but once you've used it for a while it gets easier, but someone with hand issues might have a problem removing them as you have to squeeze both sides of the battery while pulling it out. Overall, I'm very happy with the whole M12 line of products and own about 20 M12 tools and another 10 M18. Each is well made and made to last. This fantastic selection of tools was the main reason I jumped ship and moved to Milwaukee tools...
