I've had this tape measure since July of 2020. It has been lightly used as a general purpose tape measure around the house. After only minimal use, I found that it would not retract quickly or fully. In places where the tape had flexed during use, there were wrinkles along the edge of the tape. When trying to smooth one of the wrinkles with my fingernail, I somehow managed to rip the metal of the tape leaving a ragged metal edge just past the anti-tear plastic strip. This rendered the tape measure useless and quite dangerous to use. Surprised that this had happened, I began comparing the tape of this tape measure with other tape measures I had on hand. The metal tape on this tape measure seems quite a bit thinner than others. I have many other Milwaukee tools I have found to be excellent, but this one has disappointed me. I will continue to purchase other Milwaukee tools, but likely not their tape measures.

I bought two of these to use in our metal fabrication shop because I was tired of other tapes tearing or the marking wearing off, and these had a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, both of them tore within 6 months of purchase. A torn tape is very dangerous when it retracts, so these will both be going back, and I will resume my search for a more durable tape measure.

MILWAUKEE 25 FT. X 1.2 IN. COMPACT WIDE BLADE TAPE MEASURE WITH 15 FT. REACH, is another quality product from Milwaukee. The tape measure is very well made, and you can see your measurements on this tape very well. The sliding lock, holds this tape nice and secure while your using it. This tape measure has a sturdy belt clip, and if you don't like to use that, it also has a place where you can attach a lanyard if you prefer. Although, the lanyard does not come with the tape measure. Also this tape measure has measurements on both sides of the tape, which really comes in handy. The standout is really nice too, better than most tapes I have used !

I will be returning this tape. I love Milwaukee tools, but this one was a dud. First, I suppose this may just be me, but I thought the marketing was deceptive. In the listing it says "15' reach," while the packing on the tool says "12' standout." I suppose that is technically accurate, but I was expecting 15' standout. I'm willing to accept that I missed the intent of the wording there, but it just seems like they could have made that more clear. I feel "standout" is more of an industry-wide, universally accepted term than "reach." If that were my only issue, I would chalk that up to "shame on me for not being more aware," kept the tape and moved on. HOWEVER, there was a manufacturing defect as well. The blade coating that is applied to the first 6" or so was not complete adhered. At the 6" mark it was peeled back about 3/4". Due to that the tape does not fully retract, a few inches stay sticking out unless you physically push it back in. That's not ok

To show up on the work site with a measure tape different from the norm makes for a tough morning. I'm really impressed by the Milwaukee 25' tape measure. Everyone seems to think that it is a little lighter than the competition, fits pouch nicely and easy to grab even with gloves. I like the easy to read markings which are staying put really well. Easy out easy retracting. Still can't get the 15' standout in real life situations but 13-14 is still plenty. It's a keeper.

Nice sturdy tape with good reach and easy to read numbers but "reach" claim not quite accurate. As I get older I appreciate things that are easier to read, and compared to my trusty old Stanley tape this is far easier to read due to the thick bold numbers (which they can do since the tape is wider) and non shiny finish on the tape. Another nice feature is that BOTH sides of the tape are marked making measurements so much easier. Because it is wider than my old tape it is a little bulkier, but that seems an acceptable tradeoff for larger numbers and greater reach. HOWEVER - I don't think the 12' standout is quite right. The most the tape will extend (unsupported with the other hand) before folding under its own weight is about 11' 6" and I suspect that after a few months of heavy use that length might decrease. Meanwhile HD's description of the this tape says "15 FT. Reach" which, if you are built like an orangutan, and supported the tape with the other hand might be true. PROS: - Large, easy to read numbers on a satin finish are easy to read in different lighting conditions - BOTH sides of tape are marked - First 6" of tape are reinforced with a plastic film to reduce wear on the tape - Good reach of approx 11'

Anybody over a certain age knows for a fact that as we age our eyesight starts to diminish, (or as my husband puts it, the length of his arms is shrinking!). I can honestly say that one of the most impressive parts/features of this Milwaukee Measuring Tape is the incredibly large numbers and indicators. Yes, I still have to wear glasses, but I can instantly look down at this tape measure, and see immediately what the measurement is! The OTHER phenomenal feature? Numbers on BOTH sides of the tape!!! I'm only 5'0, and love that I can take certain measurements without needing to stand on a stool or turning the tape upside down. It's things like this that keep the Milwaukee tool company at the very top of my list in quality and craftsmanship.

Finally someone has made a measuring tape with a decent reach. Milwaukee claims that this tape has a 15' reach. It actually will reach out 15' without folding but you need to be really slow and careful and once you get it out there, it's almost impossible to maneuver it to where you want to measure. It does however have a much longer usable reach than most of the other tapes that I have used. Thumbs up. The numbers and graduations on the tape are large and easily readable and they are in inches on one side and in metric on the other. There is even and architectural scale section on one side. The case is very robust and well protected against drops and bangs. I even slammed mine in the car trunk lid once by mistake, no damage. Great little tape to have on hand.

Milwaukee makes fine products from hand tools, power tools to attire. The Milwaukee 25’ tape measure is impact resistant and two sided. The blade has an anti-tear end and can standout erect for 12’ before it flexes. The red color makes it visible if you happened to drop it. The belt or clip holder possess a firm grip and it’s unlikely to come off. Overall, I’m impressed as usual.

I tested this tape measure by accidentally dropping from my 2nd floor window onto my blacktop driveway. It actually bounced 5ft high and landed 10 ft away without any damage to it. I tested it out and it worked like it did when I received it. My son-in-law was really impressed. Pulled out the tape and it snapped back perfectly. Its plenty wide and very easy to read. It will take a lot of use to wear this out. The clip on the back makes it easy to attached to my work belt making it always available especially when on a ladder. The 12 ' standout work well but you must hold the tape at a slight angle so it does not bend.

The Milwaukee tape measure is a quality product, a tool that is essential in any project that requires an accurate measurement. The large numbers are easy to read so you can get the distances right. The tape lock is easy to function and the belt clip feels strong. I highly recommend this tape measure for your next project that requires accuracy and ease of use.

BIG & BOLD NUMBERS. This tape measurer by Milwaukee has became my everyday tape measurer. As a DIYer, I am always in need of a tape measurer for all the various projects. The sturdy design with the rubberized grips make it ergonomically friendly. Best feature is that the tape is 2-sided, this is super helpful. The length works for pretty much all of my daily situations, I don't find myself working in lengths longer than 25 feet.

This tape measure is a good quality buy. It's not quite as heavy duty as a the bigger Stanley FatMax tape measures. The stand-out is good, the markings are sharp, the double-sided numbers are nice on the front & back of the blade. The tip isn't as bulky as the magnetic tip tape measures, so that is handier in certain applications. Overall, not a bad tape measure.

This Milwaukee #48-22-0425 25 ft. Compact Tape Measure is a good quality tool that works well, fits in the hand and features a 12 foot standout. The blade measures 1.2 inches in width and has a slightly more curved profile than other tape measures and that is probably why it can standout 12 feet. Both sides of the blade are marked and the first six inches is reinforced/laminated with a strong plastic layer that should prevent tearing. The case is made of plastic, has a semi non-slip treatment in the black colored sections, a good belt clip and is impact resistant. My only complaint with this tape measure is that when the blade is extended it is difficult to apply the blade stop. I was unable do this with one hand. Each time it took two hands to apply enough force to engage the brake. This caused problems with keeping the blade extended because generally one hand extends the blade and the other locks it in place. I didn't have another one of these measures available to see if this problem is common and this could have been an exception. Overall this is a good tool.

This Milwaukee 25 foot by 1.2 inch compact wide blade tape measure with 12 foot standout is great. The standout alone makes this the best tape measure I’ve used. Standout means you can extend the tape out unsupported without it folding down under its own weight, and this one can go 12 feet! That makes it very handy. The tape is coated for anti-tear, marked on both sides, and enclosed in an impact resistant frame.

The Milwaukee 25 ft. x 1.2 in. Compact Wide Blade Tape Measure with 12 ft. Standout is a true carpenters tape. It has been used the past 3 weeks on the job site. It fits comfortably in your hand. It is about average in weight for a 1" tape. It is heavy duty and compact at the same time. The end of the tape has a catch hook on both the top and bottom. It catches on very well. The break works good and there is a nice protective coating on the tape. It is true to its advertisement that it breaks at 12'. The tape is on the wider side with easy to read numbers appearing on both the front and the back of the tape. It also has an architectural scale on the back side. Everything on the tape is laid out very well. Most important is that it is accurate. Definitely a tape worth having.

This Milwaukee tape measure is twenty five feet in length. The plastic housing has a rubber over mold and is impact resistant. The back of the frame has a spot where a tether can be attached. It has a standard belt clip and the tape hook is oversized and non-magnetic. Milwaukee claims this tape has a standout of twelve feet, and I was able to achieve that every time. The tape is printed on both sides with large bold numbers. This tape measure carries a Milwaukee lifetime warranty. As with all brands of the tape measures I have owned, I would like to see a more robust tape lock (one that doesn’t loosen easily when handled).

The Milwaukee 25 ft tape measure is easy to read. has a 4 rivided flip hook with a magnetic . The Yellow high visible 1 1/8 inch wide . the back side of this tape measure is also marked in 1/16 interments on the front and back of the tape . the inch marks are in large Black print. the tape claim it will standout 12 ft - I was able to get this tape to stand out to 14 ft without bending. the high impact case is design to hold a wrist strip not supplied & has a mechanical tape stop . there a wide stamped steel belt clip on the back . the back side of the tape also has a 12 inch 1/4 scale architectural ruler scale imprinted on it.

I'm a DIY'er and this tape measure is a good fit for everything that I do. Reading the fractional scale is easy with the large printed numbers. At my age I need all the help I can get and really appreciate Milwaukee making a print that is easy to read on the front and back of the tape. I like that the tape measure is made with durable made to last materials. I've already dropped this piece from a height of 10ft when I was working on the roof of my shed. Not even a scratch or any dent and works like its brand new! If your looking for a good tape measure that gets the job done and is built straight forward to last, give this one a shot! You'll get your moneys worth and then some!

So I really like this spool of inches. It claims a 12 foot stand out and after repeated tries it was reliable up to 4 inches shy of 12 feet. That allows you to reach out and measure things while on top of a ladder from quite a ways away. Having the inches and feet printed on the back of the measuring tape is also very handy. It has a nice solid feel to it and I expect that should last a long time.

I like the fact that it is sturdy, has large 2-sided printing for easy to read measurements and comes with a very good steel belt clip. I used the tape measure for all my 2X4 measurements to replace the stair railings for the steps to our beach. Really pleased with this tool and it definitely met my expectations.

All materials; tape, tip, case, mechanism, etc... are hi-quality. On places that a ladder was required to reach for measurement, this tape design makes it possible and also with the larger print the numbers (on both sides of the tape) are easy to read. We old-timers, appreciate this new design. The tape can be carried using the belt clip also the case is lanyard-ready for quick and easy tethering. The new tip hits both sides of the case opening protecting it from bending. The rivets and the 6" reinforcement at the convex end of the tape will also extend its accuracy and life. As you probably can tell, I kind of like this tape and I highly recommend it. The Milwaukee 25 Foot X 1.2 Inch Compact Wide Blade Measuring Tape with a12 Foot Standout is a great size measuring tape. Milwaukee makes good tools that you can count on to work. This tape measure is no exception. It is easy to hold because of its compact size. The numbers are large and easy to read, it retracts effortlessly. There is a sturdy metal clip to make sure it holds securely to a belt when not in use. It works first time, every time.

- Big, sturdy, solid, extend forever before bending. - Retract with a shotgun reloading sound. Cons: - They look at me with their cold tape eyes and whisper: "We are way more tool than you deserve. Go find your ikea tape, amateur !" - Each comes with its own black hole with predictive AI. Said hole will suck them in and make them disappear seconds before you need them, and re-appear (together, even if you kept them in separate rooms initially) seconds after you finish the job without them.

I use tape measurers every day. These are not worth the money. The tip busted off within a week. No worries I have two.. well that on also busted off. I would not spend the money on these. Harbor Freight last just as long.

Go to harbor freight You will get a better tape, This is off the boat China garbage like All Milwaukee tools are garbage from China. they are using the name but not the quality.

My initial thoughts on the tape measure was excellent. The feel and size is perfect. However, after only 6 months of use, BOTH of the tape measures have developed issues with nothing more than basic use. The biggest issue is in the locking mechanism. Neither of the tapes have ever locked very easily. In fact, many times I've been unable to lock it one handed. Now, if the tape is locked, it requires blunt force against a table edge to disengage the lock. The significance of this is that I use my cheaper stanley tape more often and ESPECIALLY if I need to do anything where I need to lock the tape. Considering that the lock is one of the few basic functions on any tape measure, this flaw is a major one.

I carry a tape measure all day every day and this is the best all around tape measure i’ve used. I give it 4 stars mainly because home depot does not carry this tape in stores anymore so i have to order it. The best part of this tape is the clip. The wire clip on the higher end milwaukees can be uncomfortable. The clip on a fatmax and others is flimsy and falls off my pants constantly. This tape doesnt have all those unnecessary fractions so thats a plus. The metal blade will last if you somewhat take care of it. The coating an the blade could be improved but it is sufficient. I highly recommend it this tape measure.
