Worth the price
This is a nice Laser. If your looking to layout ceiling lights or walls. This is worth the money. the magnets on the back are very strong and will attached itself really well to steel walls studs and beams. The box has room as well to add other items that work well with the laser.

    Damaged Case
The case came damaged. I think the laser will be fine, and the case will probably get beat up some on the jobsite, but I didnt expect to start out with it damaged. Not really bad enough to deal with a return

        Powerhouse for the Professionals
This Milwaukee laser level (model 3624-21, Made in China) is an industrial strength, professional grade beast. It projects a bright green Class 2 laser visible with the naked eye at well over 150-ft away at night. Specifications say it is visible to 250' but I couldn't test at that distance. It has three operating modes for projecting, horizontal lines, vertical lines, or both. There is an excellent feature where the laser flashes every 8 seconds if the self-leveling pendulum is locked, meaning you can't trust that the lines are either plumb of level. Self-leveling works over a range of roughly +- 4 degrees when unlocked. The base offers several mounting options for use on a tripod or vertical steel surface; 4 rare-earth magnets hold the unit securely to steel studs, for example. It holds TIGHTLY. The laser unit itself can then rotate 360 degrees within the fixed base, providing great pointing flexibility. The kit includes a Laser Alignment guide for precisely measuring offsets and easily aligning the beam, but when placed on the floor all the measurement markings are upside down – I'm not sure why. It also includes strong magnets for securing on ferrous surfaces. The kit comes with charger and M12 battery, all stored in an oversize case with foam inserts to protect the equipment. The unit comes with a conformity certificate of accuracy and the instructions offer highly detailed, step-by-step ways to verify calibrate when needed (such as after a physical shock to the unit. Unfortunately it begins by setting up the unit in a 66-ft wide area demonstrating once again this unit is intended for industrial use, not by a homeowner mounting pictures on a wall.

        Great Laser Level
This is a fantastic 2 plane laser set. You will need to buy your own tripod, but it is worth it. It has made installing cabinets much easier. The battery lasts over 10 hours with is convenient for a long day's work. Just charge the batter at night and you are ready to go all day. It is self-leveling within 4 degrees and has a working range of 125 ft.

Useful tool, fairly bright laser, a number of extras in the kit
This tool can save a lot of time for certain kinds of projects, like setting deck post heights, precise marking of plumb points (far faster than a plumb line), etc. In a simple test outside in full daylight the laser is visible at about 60’ using the included alignment target. The instructions say the working range is 125’ and extends to 165’ with a detector (not included). It has an on position with self-level locked which will warn you it is in that position by turning off every 8 seconds. This is useful for quickly starting the alignment to a target. In its self-leveling mode, if it cannot achieve level it has a great feature that will flash the beams 3 times a second to warn you immediately (I tested it) that it is temporarily inaccurate due to a mounting position problem. Included: 1. A large, strong case to protect the laser unit. It has molded foam inside to hold the various included items and it seems to have spaces for optional accessories. 2. A built-in pivoting base plate (bracket) which allows for nail/screw mounting, magnetic mounting to flat steel surfaces, tripod mounting, and the bracket includes a horizontal micro adjust knob. 3. Laser alignment target 4. Battery & Charger Good to Know: 1. The instructions provide a set of procedures to double check accuracy when you first use the device. You need a fairly large walled open space, at least 66’, to perform the check. It would probably be easier to perform the procedure indoors for beam visibility reasons. The various checks are fairly time consuming; so, check it well before you need it for a project. Better yet, check it soon after you buy it in case there’s an issue. 2. The laser level can be damaged by a fall or other strong impact. The manual recommends performing the accuracy checks after any such incident and before any highly critical projects. 3. Vertical adjustments must be made through the mounting process or with a tripod. Possible Improvements: 1. It would be easier to use with a micro adjust for height. 2. It would be easier to use in bright daylight, at distance, with a setting for a single point high power beam to make it easier to align to a target point. I have a green pen laser which produced a dot outside, in bright daylight, which was easily visible at the same time that I could not see the beam from this level without the target and, even with the target, the beam was still difficult to see. Conclusion: This is a very useful tool that can save a lot of time.

        Another Excellent Milwaukee Tool
Another Excellent Milwaukee Tool The Home Depot gave me the opportunity to evaluate the self-leveling Milwaukee M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Green Cross Line and 4-Points Laser Kit. It came nicely packaged in a hard protective case, there was no damage or missing parts. The kit includes (1) M12 green crossline and 4-points laser, (1) M12 3.0ah CP battery, (1) M12 charger, (1) laser target and (1) carrying and a leveling plate to make sure it's working properly. Many optional accessories are available. I did a lot of research before ordering this. I do a lot of tile work and carpentry and a laser level is always a nice tool to have on hand when professional results are your recommendation for future jobs. The Milwaukee brand won me over as a loyal customer about eight years ago. I have never had a Milwaukee tool fail including their batteries. I can't say that about any other brand I've used. The green beam is super bright and easy to see. It has a 125 ft. working range or 165ft. using the optional laser line detector. The backside has amplified rare earth magnets that can be stuck to any ferrous metal surface. The base has two thread mounts, 1/4 - 20 and 5/8-11, for use with a tripod or it can be hung from a screw or nail. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. Milwaukee offers a 3 year warranty on the laser and 2 years on the battery. Home Depot's return policy on this item is 90 days. If your purchase was made with The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge, or The Home Depot Commercial Account, you have 365 days from date of purchase to receive a full refund.

Very easy to use, good brightness, requires occasional cross-checks
This laser level provides horizontal and/or vertical lines as well as horiz. / vertical plumb marks. All one may need, I would always recommend getting the unit with all the options, makes it so much more useful. Brightness is good and a included 'cat eye' target helps to increase range in sunny conditions. We have used it in regular daylight up to 35ft. The best feature, of course is the self-leveling head. A pendulum provides leveling of up to +/-4 degrees from level, settling time is only a few seconds. As the manual points out, the self-leveling must be verified occasionally, especially after dropping the instrument or a rough transport. There is no way to tell, if one of the two laser heads is misaligned, relative to each other or relative to plumb or level. This is different from manually leveling lasers which have levels mounted right on the rugged laser housing and a centered level guarantees a level laser. Alignment checking of this self-leveling unit is involved and requires 30ft wall distances. We set it up in a large garage and put markings as recommended in the manual and check against those whenever required. We found the observed deviations to be smaller (up to 50%) than the specified errors, which is excellent. We like the unit, but it needs to be handled carefully even inside the case to avoid any misalignment (which we have not observed at all) because you will not know when it is out of alignment, unless you run the checks. There is not much soft support in the case and the laser head rocks on the mounting bracket. The fine angle adjust has 1/2 turn backlash! Due to this, rotational line alignment is not easy. Still 5-star, because it simplifies and speeds up the process of usage very significantly!

        Best Laser Kit Ever!
This Milwaukee M12 Green Cross Line laser is compact and high-quality. The green line is visible even in full direct sunlight so you know it will work well on your construction job. It has a self leveling feature and magnetic brackets so there lots of ways to attach it no matter the site. It also has four modes so you can get lines or points depending on your need. And it’s part of the M12 battery series so it’s interchangeable with other Milwaukee tools. The only thing about it I don’t love is that the case is far too big. While it provides good protection it’s also really bulky and hard to store. The tool itself is fantastic though!

This makes it quick and easy to get things aligned level and plumb.
This makes it quick and easy to get things aligned level and plumb. I used it for the first time while hanging shades. The laser line thickness was closer to ⅛” than 1/16” and made lining up all the shades in the room effortless. The laser shoots out over 180 degrees so I was able to install brackets for shades in three walls before moving the laser. It mounts securely on my large tripod, but the house has 9- and 10-foot ceilings so I had to set my tripod on top of a table to reach the right height. [Later, after I took the photos, I moved it to a “Baker” scaffold so I could spread the tripod legs a little wider for extra stability.] The laser works great. It self levels within a good range. Also, it is easy to select the correct mode. I used just the horizontal line for this job, but I look forward to using the cross lines and plumb points on future jobs. This set includes a very compact 3 amp-hour battery which I love. I put a 2 amp-hour battery in the laser and used the 3 amp-hour for my drill driver. The smaller battery was more than enough to hang shades in 4 rooms. The laser unit is larger than I expected (roughly 7”x6”x3” & 2-½ pounds), but the case is HUGE! Roughly 19” x 20”x 6” & almost 10 pounds with the laser, etc. inside’. It has space for a lot of accessories that didn’t come with this set, and I don’t anticipate ever needing. The case is sturdy and protects the laser well, but it takes up a LOT of extra space. It is a really nice, hard plastic case with metal latching loops and custom molded black foam to hold the laser, charger, battery, target and other stuff. There is even a place for a padlock under the handle for extra security. Actually, the opening in the foam follows the shape of the laser with a 4amp battery installed. When I opened it there was a chunk of cardboard filling in the gap where the larger battery would be. For now, I am keeping that chunk of cardboard in place for extra protection, but the laser seems sufficiently secure using just the foam.

Fast and Accurate Time Saver with Many Options
This is such a helpful piece of equipment in so many ways and you won't always need a helping hand to do your layouts with this. The green beam is so much easier to see and work with. It will mount to a tripod using either its 1/4"-20 or 5/8"-11 threaded mounts or use the amplified rare earth magnets to firmly attach to a steel stud or beam or use the nail/screw hole. It has a 125' working range, 165' using the detector. Accuracy is +/- 1/8" at 33ft and it is self-leveling +/- 4° tilt. Once you are satisfied with the setup, the pendulum can be locked. The micro adjustment helps to get it exactly where you want it. The plumb bob feature is so helpful and easy to use. There is a 2" access point for that. Quickly and accurately find and mark your points faster than you have before. It is one of the greatest time and manpower savers that you'll use. It has 9+ hours of run-time, a three year warranty and it has a IP54 rating. It uses the handy and ever popular M12 batteries. All comes in a hard case with molded padding inside, including a battery, charger, detector and an operator's manual full of information,  especially on how to check for accuracy.

          Pricey- Worth every penny
Green light is definitely more visible- we use a red unit and this green one side by side, and there's no doubt this is better. We often do ceiling layout on the floor using the 3-axis feature then transfer points to the ceiling. The dial adjustment is also well designed- pivots directly over the intersection of 2 of the laster lines. Running on M12's is also a huge plus- we always have one at hand, so we don't lose time when we leave the unit on all day. Only drawback is that the foam insert doesn't work with standard backout boxes. We ended up carving up a 10" compact packout box to hold the unit and the adjustable wall bracket. Would be great if it fit inside a standard packout unit.

            Milwaukee Green
Milwaukee Green 100 foot Cross Line and Plumb Points Laser Level with REDLITHIUM Lithium-Ion USB Battery and Charger! First, it is GREEN; second, it is RECHAGEABLE. Some people do not like plumb bobs, but they just might change their minds with this gem. An accessory is available to extend the range to 165 feet with the ‘detector’ which is available for an additional fifteen dollars. The built-in magnet is handy for steel studs and other metallic surfaces. Drop it, say a few words, and keep on working because it will stand up to the rigors of a rough life. I wish green laser had been available years ago because it is more visible than red, BUT it is more expensive to manufacture. In very bright conditions — such as at the range on a clear, sunny day — a green laser sight will be more visible on target than a red laser sight. Green light offers less of an advantage over red light in dim conditions. Replacement battery is about $25 if or when it is needed.

Easy to operate. Far reaching vivid laser lines and points. Some self-leveling level. Magnet, nail/screw, tripod mounting. Vertical laser micro adjust. Long lasting battery- w/ ‘fuel gauge,’ low power mode indicator, in use charging, heavy duty charging cable, ac adapter, riser and carrying case included. Very well designed. Easy ‘Operation.’ Overall- expectations exceeded after initial concern (shock) at requirements for ‘accuracy field checks'- this is a highly accurate tool! Requires specific ‘work surface.’ Laser quickly proved justifiable. Precise green laser lines, eliminating marks, marking lines or stretching strings- leaving a wide open work space- Milwaukee's 3522-21 Laser quickly proved being a time saving accurate easy to operate leveling tool. --------Details------------------- Laser seemed extravagant for DIY use but quickly proved a valuable tool for two lingering projects; old house 2 x 6 roof rafter bracing and old barn stairs- windows installs. Both made much easier, more efficient and safer, using the laser. House attic- after establishing reference points on opposite sides, using lasers top plumb point on one and the vertical laser on the other, the far reaching laser created a precise line across the attic space for brace placement. Without strings stretching and in the way to catch, break or sag! Making brace install easy and fast. Barn- few level or plumb places to start from. Laser quickly proved the perfect tool for establishing both. Reducing time while making estimating cost and performing tasks easier and safer. Eliminating time on ladders alone easily justifies laser. After creating a small portable surface that is easily moved and shimmed to create the specified ‘within 4 degrees of true level’ work surface, the laser lines quickly reveal the ease of establishing level and plumb lines, a new perspective- the ease of establishing reference lines is literally amazing. Eliminating extensive measuring, creating both elevation and plumb in crisp highly visible green lines! What may have been hours of measuring from ladders, establishing level and then plumb lines with tape measures, levels (on long straight edges and/or multiple strings lines) was suddenly a thing of the past. Replaced with the lasers plumb points and lines establishing multiple reference lines and points as quickly as moving the 'work surface' could be done, creating level and plumb lines easily and accurately, eliminating hard to find pencil marks and stretching -of work interfering- strings. Milwaukee Rechargeable Laser Level with REDLITHIUM Lithium-Ion Battery made two DIY jobs safer and more profitable. --------And------ then there is the bulk of the Operators Manual info- the ‘accuracy field check,’ requiring a free measuring distance of 66’, 33’ x 33’, door opening with 8’ and 33’ between floor and ceiling- wow! Not exactly something easily done for a DIY’er. But checking the laser lines for accuracy can be as easy as checking any level or plumb line, by using a precise level or plumb line. The laser lines were more precise than the accuracy of the tasks required, and the results have been near perfect according to the tools used to measure. After several weeks use on DIY projects and testing the accuracy, we’re confident in the performance of Milwaukee's Model 3522-21 Laser. Highly satisfied and recommend this professional tool. Another well designed functional easy to use Milwaukee tool.

Absolutely fantastic tool that makes the job so much easier. Complete with a powerful battery that keep a change for hours, it self levels and keeps your lines accurate. It charges pretty quick and if you end up using it for huge projects, it will be ready for you to use again in no time at all. The laser itself and high contrast and I was surprised that it was viewable in morning light. It's simple to use and comes with a bracket for temporary wall mounting and a screw hole on the bottom that accepts most telescoping system, including a camera tripod, etc. Most any project simply needs to have things right from the very beginning. Getting your measurements right from the get go sets your project up for success. With this tool, you're not leaving anything to chance.

The Milwaukee Model # 3522-20 laser unit is a very professional, versatile, and an accurate layout device for use by the trade’s person or the even the DIY (Do It Yourself) homeowner. Whether it be on the jobsite or in the home, this laser can quick project a strong bright high intensity green horizontal line or a vertical line or both cross lines at the same time plus it also has a handy two-dot laser vertical plumb line feature too. The bright green laser lines are especially visible for use in daylight and or in dim and dark conditions and overall, the bright green laser is stronger than the traditional red laser. This laser can project the layout lines over a distance of up to 100 feet or up to 165 feet when using the optional laser detector. The laser has a manual rotary switch to lock/unlock an internal leveling pendulum system to self-level itself and it will indicate to the user that the laser is in a 4 degree or more “out of level” situation by blinking the laser line. The laser has an accuracy of +/- 1/8” at 33 feet has and it has a IP54 (IP – International Protection) rating, with 5 meaning it has protection against dust – limited ingress and 4 means protected against sprays from all directions – limited ingress permitted. It should be noted that the Milwaukee laser kit #3522-21 comes complete with the #3522-20 laser unit that has a left to right swivel micro adjust feature and 4 very strong embedded rare earth magnets for securing the laser to steel beams and steel studs, 2” molded plastic laser riser bracket to use with the vertical plumb line feature, 3 foot USB charging cord and 120 volt wall plug, 3.0 AH (amp/hour) REDLITHIUM rechargeable battery which can be used for 8 hours on a full charge, built-in battery power charging and strength indicator, heavy duty blow molded plastic carry case with handle to safely secure in place, the laser and its accessories while storing or carrying them plus a manufacturer’s instruction booklet. This laser helps you to work safer when making layouts lines while saving time and being more accurate over the old way, when using a stringline, a level and plumb bob. It has a convenient built in 1/4-20 female threaded tripod mounting connector so you can securely mount it for height to a tripod for use in the field or home. The laser plumb line feature is great for properly locating drill points holes on the ceiling and the floor to run pipes or for attaching framing studs. It can also be used to line up where to place recessed kitchen ceiling lights, so they properly splash light down onto the kitchen counter without creating shadow spots. Some other great practical uses for this laser include when installing a shower body and vertical relationship to the tub drain, shower body, and the shower head, aligning kitchen wall cabinets, aligning kitchen base cabinets, installing wall shelving, for placing and the leveling of a group of wall mounted picture frames, and with the optional bracket, you can hang a suspended ceiling grid. The unit is made in China and comes with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty and a separate 2-year warranty on the REDLITHIUM USB rechargeable battery. All in all, Milwaukee is a name you can trust and this a great laser layout tool to have and use!

I am surprised how easy this Milwaukee laser level is to work. I charged up the Red Lithium USB 3.0 battery (which charged up relatively fast, about 20 minutes). This small Milwaukee battery should last all day. The green laser lines are incredibly bright and easy to see in any light. I checked the level of some shelves I know to be level, and the laser is perfectly accurate. This laser will also work as a plumb bob which will come in handy on the job. The laser has a rating of IP 54, which will protect it from water spray and dust. Overall, this Milwaukee laser is a breeze to learn how to use; it has a tripod mount and comes in a hard protective case.

This is a very high quality laser level. I would easily say it is commercial grade. It’s easy to use and I really like the self level mode. The green lasers are strong and can easily be seen. We placed it on one side of my kitchen to the other side of the living room which is 40ft away and could see the light perfectly. I love using this when I make floating shelves. In my photos you may see a double line because we used it in a bathroom and the light was reflected from our mirror but it was very easy to see the real line and which was the reflected. You do need to have the laser at the right level, I tend to use a latter and stack items to get it the height I want but want to invest in a nice adjustable stand for it. Overall the quality of this laser is very high and I couldn’t be happier with it. It comes with the battery charger and the carrying case which makes it very convenient to haul around.

This thing is great- I can’t wait for the laser receiver to come out so I can use it for grading. Admittedly, I’ve only used knock off rotary lasers before (in the $100-$200 range), and this is definitely way better than those. It self levels almost instantly, and is super, super bright. It is simple to use, just select which plane you want, and off you go. It may be over-kill for the average homeowner or DIYer, but I love this thing.

Very helpful tool for laying flooring and ceiling grids. The 3 planes of the laser can each be turned off independently so you can see just the laser that you are using, but often the extra laser plane will make setup and adjusting easier and give you a checkpoint. The self leveling feature is amazingly accurate and works even on a uneven surface of a crooked old house. Also micro adjusting the verticals is simple by a turn knob. For the most part you can have it mounted aligned and leveled within a few minutes. The level is tripod mountable with 1/4"-20, 5/8"-11 screw mount but also has magnets to mount to metal studs or you can just nail it down. I was glad to see it has a 3 year warranty that also covers the battery. There is a battery status light that will alert you to when it needs a charge , so far I have only used a few hours a time but the battery holds a charge a long time. The laser says it has a working range of 125' , maybe in the perfect lighting but on average realistically I would say you start to loose it before it hits 100'. The kit did not include a beam detector but I hear you can get the range up to 165' with beam detector. Outside in sunlight it is not visible for more than a few feet away so its not made for use outside. I guess you can use it outside with the beam detector. But this in meant to be a indoor unit. The kit included case that protects the laser, also has a spot for a extra battery and a beam detector.

This kit includes the 360 degree 3 plane green laser level, M12 XC4.0 Ah battery, battery charger and Alignment Target. They are housed in a molded plastic outer case with a molded foam inner liner – the molded foam liner does an excellent job of protecting the components. The overall dimensions of the laser level are 7-7/8” long x 6-9/16” tall x 4-11/16” wide - The total weight including the battery is 3 lbs 10.2 oz. The 4.0 Ah battery gives about 15 hours of run time. The Laser Alignment Target is a 4” square black plastic body with a magnetized bottom and a hang hole – it has a reflective specular target face. There is s 3 year warranty on both the laser unit and the battery. The body is dust and water splash protected (IP54 rated) – evident of attention to detail - there are two little drain holes at the bottom of the battery compartment, in case any water should splash into it. A control panel is on the side of the unit – an ON/OFF rotary switch, the Micro Control knob and 3 buttons for beam selection. A power on light and battery level indicator lights are also on the panel (see photos) There are two ON positions, locked and unlocked beams – in the unlocked mode there is an automatic leveling feature that can compensate within a range of plus or minus 4 degrees – the beam(s) will flash if the unit is not within the level range. The green laser beams have a visible limit of 125 feet (250 foot diameter). This range can be increased to 165 feet with an optional Laser Detector (not currently available 1/23/2021). The Micro Control allows fine adjustments about a plumb point. If you want to make micro adjustments to the horizontal beam, you will need accessories not included - either the Milwaukee “360-degree Quick Connect Laser Mount” or a tripod with a hand crank center column. The image shown for the Micro Control in the “Product Overview” is very misleading – they show a swing angle of about 75 degrees – the actual swing angle of the Micro Control is only about 9 degrees (see photo) – although the laser body can rotate almost 300 degrees on the integrated bracket – the pivot point is on axis with the 5/8” tripod screw hole and not the plumb point. Like most Milwaukee M12 tools, removing a battery can be difficult – M12 batteries use a combination of a friction fit and pronged squeeze latches to keep the battery in place.

This is a mammoth laser, one for the professional who relies on durability and accuracy in their workmanship. My first thought was how do you get this battery out of the laser to charge? I had to go to the manual that reads that there are two buttons that you have to squeeze simultaneously to remove the battery. What buttons... oh on the neck of the battery! You have to squeeze like nobody's business to get the two holding concealed clips compressed to get the battery to come out.... my only thoughts this was that this design for tradesmen who would carry the laser by the battery Milwaukee did not want the battery coming loose and the laser to drop on the floor. The M12 battery is has a 15-hour runtime for this laser plus the battery fits all M12 tools This thing is a beast... but if you are like me and price is secondary and you enjoy tools and want the best, this checks all the marks. The base that it's attached to allows you to place it on a flat surface or on a tripod with two threaded inserts on the bottom of the attached base 1/4-20 - 5/8-11 threads. The base has a knob for fine adjustments left or right, most quality bases  have increment to go up and down never seen one that goes left to right to plumb dial it in , it also has two powerful magnets on the backside of the base to attach to a metal structure. The main button to turn it on 1, is on pendulum lock, position on 2, pendulum unlocked to let the pendulum swing free for leveling position there are two additional separate buttons that will focus in on what part of the laser beam you want to use vertical, horizontal or both. The green laser beam is very bright about an eighth of an inch  (1/8) wide the accuracy that is advertised is an eighth of an inch (1/8) at 33 ft. Most of these line lasers are meant to use indoors. The laser comes in a plastic case with styrofoam molded for the laser, charger and  battery, and some targeting accessories. This is a precision tool to have in your tool chest my only complaint is that they should have made the battery easier to get out there are no marks on the battery to show you where to squeeze to remove the battery and once you figure that out you have to squeeze it pretty hard. All in all Milwaukee has a good reputation for making quality tools and Home Depot has one for backing products that they sell to consumers.

It’s a little bulky but does exactly what I need it to do.
