Great tool! This greatly reduced time spent on the tedious job of cutting rod.

This thing eats through threaded rod like a beast. only up to 1/2" diameter but that works for most of the work I need. Very simple operation.

Had to custom cut 6,000 security fasteners for a unique application we had. They were all 1/4-20 and of them 3,000 zinc and 3,000 stainless steel. The Stainless had a slight bur that wasn't much of an issue for re-threading the nut. The Zinc however did leave a slightly sharper bur that had to be touched with a belt sander. Our application is unique as the end user is an environment with children and there can't be any sharp edges. We had no issues and battery life extended to around 500 cuts per charge. We would purchase another without question, and are currently re-sizing some 5/16 security fasteners with pretty much the same success.

I have had my (what I call) rod buster for over 3 years now. I am 22 years into the fire sprinkler pipe fitter trade. I still use a band saw if I have a bulk amount of rod and I'm cutting an entire bundle for several typical lengths. But, for every single cut otherwise, I use the rod buster. All this.. 3 years later, I am still using the same die head it came with. In what I would have spent on band saw blades, I have paid for this tool and band saw blades several times over.

I absolutely love this tool. I work in the custom industry and this tool has saved my fingers. I mostly cut 1/4 and 3/8 and I did cut the threaded rod on the band saw. Not any more!

If you’re cutting lots of rod, you need this. Every cut is perfect, clean and safe. Your budget will thank you in the long run.

Works great, saves time

I have now had this for a while now. The cuts are clean, saving me time from having to clean the threads before installation. I do find that there needs to be a better way of moving from different size heads, having to unscrew the 2 heads to change sizes does become time consuming - almost need a push release and swivel type mechanism? It is a little heavy, but still a very handy tool to make quick work of my installs. I almost didn't buy it based on many bad reviews from by supplier, but thought I would give it a try. I mostly use it for 3/8 and 1/4 rods, I have used it on the 1/2" but very in-frequently. Still works in the cold weather as well - which is a surprise. Pulling it out of my van after weeks of it sitting in extreme cold winter it went straight to work.

I love this tool. Saves time & money. However I am not able to find a blow molded case for it. Is there a part number I need to order just the tool case it's self? Is one even available?

This product will save you time. It works flawlessly. No need to break out the band saw and the reamer to debur. Well worth the money for this

Another great and innovative tool by Milwaukee. Well built and easy to use.

This is one of those where have you been all my life tools that you never really knew how badly you needed it until you got one in your hands! This thing cuts like butter and a perfect nut ready cut every time. One improvement I'd like to see is a rafter hanger.

Cuts clean. Much safer than other means of cutting all thread.

Awesome investment. Consistent clean cuts, no need to chase them. One thing I did wish it had was a lock button to prevent accident usage or cuts. Overall great product
