Safest power saw ever.
I love it. I bought this saw so that I might work earlier in the mornings without waking the neighbors. I live off grid and have to watch my power usage in the winter months and am impressed with the fairly low power demand to recharge the battery. The saw itself runs a little slower chainspeed than my gas powered saws, however it seems to be just as quick in cutting because it does not seem to shallow cut as some fast saws do. The saws ability to shut off and turn on with the touch of the trigger makes for a much safer experience in my opinion, allowing the operator the time to reposition before resuming work and clearing the area as cutting proceeds. Also the lighter weight is much easier on the body. I can run a full battery in about an hour and twenty minutes without getting fatigued or just grab the saw for one cut without the associated rituals that come with a gas powered saw.

Broke in less than a weeks work
Broken in less than a weeks work. Internal pin broke and retainer made of plastic. Gear driven tightener failed as well. Chainsaws need metal parts not plastic. The saw cut well and was well balanced. However this thing is a waste of money, as it won’t handle light work.

    Pretty happy after first use
The saw works really well. The narrow blade slices through material well but it can pinch easily. I did have a few challenging times when the chain coming off the drive spocket, having to take the time and fix was a pain. Not sure if thats the saw's normal or if it's me. I was very aware to check the tension every once in a while but it still happened unexpectedly. Over all I'm satisfied with the saw and the run time on the battery is satifactory. (Wish they didn't cost so much or I would have a second.)

    Great little farm saw
Well going to invest in another battery and the rapid charger it plows through a load of wood fast, only have 1 m18hd12 and one hd8 think with two 12 and a 8 with a rapid charger you could cut all day

Great unless you want to cut wood.
Chain came of 13 times while downing and bucking up 3 small tree's. I know it sounds like fun to stop working 13 times to reattach the chain, and if your goal is to not cut wood, it can be. If you are cold during winter because you couldn't collect enough wood, you can always keep active by reattaching this chain over and over.

      Milwaukees done it again!
Amazing cutting, very sharp, cuts quick and battery lasts. 2nd 12ah battery is needed. Can use a 6ah or 8ah as well for the overall weight.

      Good mid-use Chainsaw
Pros: Starts every time. No carb to clean. No gas. Quality. Cons: 12ah bat is costly & is known to be a paper weight within a year or 2. 12ah battery = about 2 hrs with med. trees. Does not compare to a gas chainsaw in speed or continuous run time. Can't freely turn the chain to sharpen it. Drinks bar oil very fast. I am a new wood-stove owner, and after this first season cutting with my Milwaukee Chainsaw along side friends with gas chainsaws, I am selling this and moving to gas.

        This Chainsaw Works Sweet!
Quick safe set up, easy use, lasts long with the 12.0. Make sure you have a couple 12.0s on hand for a days work. Came with a complimentary blower that does the job.

I waited too long to buy this saw
I bought this chainsaw a month back and wish I had done so much sooner. I had a bias toward gas powered saws because I never experienced a battery powered saw that was powerful enough and lasted long enough to be worth a purchase until now. Let me start off by saying I am a home user using this saw to fell dead trees and cut up trees that came down on their own. We have about 3.75 acre lot that is about 2 acre of wooded area. I decided to buy this saw after my stihl was very difficult to start and got tired of dealing with starting it after sitting for a season. I did a ton of research especially into the power and battery life. There are several you tube videos you can watch to see the same as I did. I read the description and the cut count in cedar which I take with a grain of salt due to it not being a real hard wood. Back to my usage over the first month: Fell 4 dead ash trees with average diameter between 8-12 inches Cleaned up several (didn’t count) downed trees Cut all trees into 12-18 inch logs which were split and piled Output was a 3-4 ft tall pile about 22 feet long Batteries used: 4 What I experienced was a battery lasts about 1 hour it takes a little over an hour for the fast charger that comes with the saw to recharge the battery. This saw come with 1 - 12ah battery A second battery is a necessity and a third is recommended if you don’t want to wait for batteries to be charged. I also recommend having a second chain to be able to rotate when one needs sharpening. I have only positive reviews for this. If there is anything I wished were different, I would say I was surprised at the weight of the saw. I was expecting a bit lighter, but it is a big battery and electric motor. Second, the chain tool is really hard to get out. Ironically I carry an extra screw driver to pry it out. The good news is that it won’t fall out.

          Goodbye Gas!
It's an amazing chainsaw. I struggled with the price of the kit, which in hindsite might have been the wrong choice; purchased the bare tool and its my first from the Milwaukee line, so battery prices are the downside. It cuts through hardwood really nice with just a HC battery, looking forward to getting a high output battery on sale, which will make it even better. I researched it well, and the Milwaukee saw has a better overall build quality in this price range. I'm sticking to Milwaukee genuine batteries regardless. No regrets, it really is a great tool, makes the job easier.

          Fantastic saw
I own this saw and so does my neighbor. I was doubtful this saw would do much considering the size of his tree. It worked great. No issues

16 inch chainsaw and blower kit
I purchased the chainsaw kit to cut up a tree that cut down on our property. I was able to make about 50 cuts without any issues. The saw was very quiet compared to a gasoline powered chainsaw. The included blower handles all of the sawdust with ease. I am very happy with the purchase.

              Good saw
Tried it out on some big pine tree limbs and the saw worked great through 12-14" trunks. Good purchase for what I need it for.

Watch what type of oil you use
Right out of the box I followed instructions and filled it with “loggers choice” bar and chain oil, held the trigger for a generous 30 seconds and chain was still dry. Held it again for 60 seconds while holding tip and looking for overspray, still dry as a bone. Removed chain and bar and still nothing coming out. Returned to store and exchanged for a new one. Filled with PowerCare brand off shelf at Home Depot and worked great.

Super convenient, powerful saw for medium use.
Love it. Few years of home use, up to the task every time. Every person I've lent it to wanted to buy one after using it. Onboard wrench storage makes it easy to change or adjust the chain on the fly. The 16" bar gives me ample clearance for any log I should be cutting with a battery powered saw, anything larger I'd use gas. Cut up the neighbors tree pictured on 8amp battery with ease, only overheated a few times. Wish there was a case, it drips a bit of oil from the bottom afterward.

                  Fantastic saw
I bought this saw with the intent of very light duty use, trimming trees around the yard, maybe cutting down some smaller trees and bushes. But when a large Black Locust tree decided to fall in my yard, I put my M18 Chainsaw to use. The tree was a good 50' tall and 20 inches in diameter. I used one 6.0 battery to cut off all the branches i could reach from the ground, then a 5.0 battery to cut the trunk to let it drop the rest of the way to the ground and cut up the remaining branches. But once I got down to the main trunk of the tree (14" +) I was only able to cut 2 or 3 logs off before my 5.0 batteries died. Even with 2 chargers going, they couldn't keep and i had to switch to a gas powered saw to finish. But I am still blown away by the performance, it was cutting just as well if not better than my gas powered saw. I even got it pinched in a branch really good at one point, had to use a Hackzall to cut the branch around it to relieve the pressure. No damage or issues to the saw from it, popped the chain back on, tightened it up and was away cutting again. I really loved how quiet it is compared to a gas saw too. I could hear my music playing in the background and more importantly, could hear when the tree was creaking and under pressure from my cut.

The red bag isn’t the best part…
This easy to use 14” chainsaw saved my husband and me thousands of dollars. We were hit hard by the Texas ice storm in February and we were able to do all the cleanup ourselves. One battery was all we needed; a single charge lasted as long as we did each day and recharge was very quick. The county pitched in with pickup and we managed to fill over one 3 yard dump truck with what it took us 10 days to cut. I have several Milwaukee tools and am already making plans for my next purchase, a circular saw. Thanks guys for your excellent tools!

                    Not durable for Milwaukee
This saw was only used for limbing and cleanup work. As you can see in the photo the two bolts which hold the bar in place are molded into the plastic housing, over time these bolts become lose and seperate from the housing. I used epoxy to put mine back into place, we will see how long this repair holds up. I have never had this issue with a Husqvarna saw. Maybe I will need to return to their saws even for the smaller tasks. To be clear the photo is after I epoxied the bolts back but.
