We bought this pad to put under a thick wool area rug in our eating area. It keeps the area rug from slipping on our hardwood floor and makes the rug look more luxurious. The pad provides just the right amount of cushioning. The materials in this pad are very high quality and there were no odors.

I have had this rug pad for two weeks and very much like the dual surface feature. The pad fits the rug perfectly, just a 1/16" had to be trimmed on one side. It is thick enough to give my new rug plenty of cushion. I am very pleased with the pad and yes, would recommend it. This pad is exactly what I was hoping for. I will buy another one for the next rug.

Nice, thick pad for area rugs. We have it under a rug on a wood floor. Made it much more comfortable to walk on. Easy to trim to size.

We chose this 10 X 14 rug pad because of the excellent customer reviews and because the manufacturer stated in the product description that the rug pad would not harm hardwood flooring (or any type of flooring). We installed the rug pad easily. It was easy to cut with household scissors and a box cutter. We chose to have the pad delivered to our local HD store. The pad was easy to carry and load into the car because it was folded in a large rectangle, rather than rolled up in a large roll. It's been about a month since we installed it -- so far, so good. I was concerned that I might trip over the carpet and pad, but the pad adds adequate cushioning without adding too much height. No tripping! I don't detect any discoloration or other damage to our hardwood floors. I would recommend this carpet pad.

The rug pad is needed as it helps the rug stay in place and it adds another level of softness. Goes well with any rug and easy to trim if needed to fit the size of the rug.

We purchased two of these (9x12 and 8x10), for two different sized rugs in November 2017. They are extending the life of our rugs, and as we replace the rugs in our house, we are purchasing this rug pad to go underneath the new rugs. They are easy to trim with scissors, and make the rug surface very comfortable. Highly Recommend.

This is,exactly what i was looking for. It arrived on time. I needed a utility knife to cut it to size. It is working well to keep my area rug in place and has a little padding which is what i wanted.it has been in use now in my living room for about 1 month. I would buy again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nonslip carpet pad.

These rug pads are so excellentbI ordered 3! They add height & comfort in the extra padding under the rug. They are perfect for our hardwood floors... the rugs absolutely remain in place. They have exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend them!

Good cushioning. Thin so it fits under the doors to the room with a thin rug over it. It's a good compromise between thickness and cushion. Easily cut and trimmed with good scissors.

We had no problem putting down the rug pad....my sister and I did it. The rug went right on top of it quite easily and lays flat and doesn't roll up or move. The pad gives the rug a more cushioned feeling when you walk on it. I can really tell the difference when I walk on one that we have with no rug pad.

Color and quality of this rug was excellent. Very soft even though it has a short pile which is what I wanted. I would definitely buy again.

Well, I'm still waiting for the stretched, wavy edge to smooth out and it's been a month and a half. Not sure how it's going to shrink back into place. Other than that, it seems fine.

The mat came rolled up and folded in half to facilitate shipping. Once unpacked and unrolled, it was very uneven and crinkled. But, as the packing information stated, after a couple days of laying on the floor it would smooth out - which it did. It serves the purpose we bought it for just fine.

This is a high quality dual surface rug pad. No comparison between this & any of the others I looked at. I bought them to go under the carpet runners I had down to protect the hardwood floors I refinished recently. The carpet was rough on the underside & slid around all the time prior to putting the Mohawk pad down. This rug pad keeps the carpet in place & does not stick to the hardwood & are out of sight under the carpet. They are fairly thick (1/4") & make walking on the carpet feel cushy. I was so happy with them I bought a 3rd one to go in front of my sliding glass door on top of the carpet to protect my carpet from the elements as the opposite side is felt & you can put the felt side on top of the carpet with the rubber side facing up with a runner on top. A little tough to cut with regular scissors but a good pair of shears or bandage scissors works just great. Well worth it to get this quality pad. Have had them about 6 months now & they meet all expectations & more! Takes a few days to get areas where they were folded out from the shipping but they smooth out just fine when laid flat. I highly recommend them. Bought first 2 on sale & paid full price for the 3rd one but did not mind due to the quality & the fact that they work!

Lovely rug, albeit on the thinner side. I’ve had it for a few months now. Takes some time to uncurl, but very nice once it flattens out. A rug pad makes a big difference. Stands up to vacuuming well and doesn’t get sucked up by it. Not excessively fuzzy/shedding either! Overall I am very happy with this rug. Great value.

I used the pad on carpet to keep my area rug from bunching up. My area rug is no longer slipping like it was. The pad was a little bigger than my area rug so I trimmed it with a scissors. I would definitely recommend it for rug on rug use.

Used this as a pad for an 8x10 Oriental rug. It is a little thicker than a similar pad I used for another rug so that was nice. I cut it to size so there is about a 3" gap on all sides. It is much easier to cut using a sharp blade in a box cutter than a scissor. This kind of pad is dense and does not provide a soft feel like the foam rubber pad used under wall to wall carpet. But between the softness of the rug and this pad the rug feels nice under bare feet. I guess it will stop a rug from slipping but after putting furniture on the rug it is hard to tell if it does or not...I would guess that it does. Came folded up so laid it out and let it flatten out for a while. Trimmed it, vacuumed it and put my rug down and I was in business. Good product.

Pad arrived in days, tightly folded, required a few hours after opening to relax before final placement. What took the most time was removing the old rubber pad remnants, which were very dusty. (I will never use that type pad again) The measurement was exact, and fit my wool Bokhara rug perfectly, the pad has been down for weeks, and it has not stretched or changed shape at all. I love the Mohawk felted pad is very dense, makes the rug placed on it feel very luxurious underfoot, allows complete soil removal when vacuuming, and will not crumble with age. I will order more of these, these pads are high quality and a great value.

Product is very good. Just the right height for comfort. Very easy to cut. I feel the non slip feature is very important and this works very well. Will order for my another rug that needs padding.

What a difference the rug pad made on my floors. I bought this pad after looking at the reviews on Home Depot and 2 other sites that sells rugs and I'm very happy that I bought this one. It pays to see what other people have experienced. Home Depot also had the cheapest price for this size.

If you are looking for a QUALITY area rug underlayment... this is what you need. The pad is 1/4" thick. The alternative is either a very thin flimsy piece of felt with no backing or one of those rubbery net like pads that disintegrates onto your floor over time.. creating a mess. The Mohawk pad cushions and thus protects your rug and floor, plus, the bottom of the pad has a slip resistant texture that holds your rug in place. If you are investing in a quality rug, then you need to invest in a quality pad. This pad was a fair price, especially compared to the outrageous prices for measurably inferior rug pads on-line and in stores. I haven't seen this type of rug pad in stores. I will add that your ordinary home scissors are not capable of trimming this pad. You need to measure and trim, if appropriate outside using a sharp blade.

I needed a carpet pad for my area rug. I had trouble finding any that were more than 6' wide for my 8 x 10 area rug. This one would do the job without a seam. It gives cushioning without being bulky and feels good under foot. Also easy to cut to size. No special tools needed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

At 1/4 inch thickness, the pad is dense enough to feel stable under an area rug, but add a little cushion. The rubber bottom prevents sliding on our newly refinished hardwood floors, as the photo shows. We cut it easily with sharp scissors. We left it about 1 inch short of the rug dimensions in each direction. Price was great for the size larger than we needed, so we have some leftover.

I purchased this while on sale, so the price was easier to swallow. In the long run, having padding will benefit due to the extension of the life of the rug. Might be nice if the padding was a bit thicker. It does add some cushion, but definitely doesn't feel cushy, especially with a short nap rug. We have some of this padding under a much longer shag rug and this pad feels sufficient for that. Purchased this type of padding after doing research on padding that won't damage hardwood floors. Our are engineered hardwood. Natural rubber is one of the dual surfaces-the one the touches the floors. The other side is very scratchy/fiberous and between that and furniture on parts of the rugs, we have had no problems with the rugs moving off the padding.
