This downrod is specific to the Monte Carlo fans. I bought it to go with the Akova model. The generic downrods sold in store were 1/2" too big in diameter. This matches perfectly and fits just right. Nice quality

Purchased this fan installed fan with 18 inch drop. Ceilings are 9.5 ft. Took an hour. There was only a light in ceiling. Beautiful accent to living room. Works great, looks great.

Not the right size, no threading
I ordered these to extend a light fixture whose down rods are 1/2” in diameter. These are much bigger than my 1/2” rods, and neither end was threaded. They do not seem to be as described on the product page! They won’t work for me.

Good downrod
We had a Monte Carlo fan, so this downrod, by the same company worked just fine. Make sure you understand the maker of your fan and the maker of the downrod to ensure thy are compatible.

Very nice fan. Easy to install, looks great and runs silently. A bit pricey but very well made compared to the cheaper Home Depot brand fans which I’ve found to be complete junk. You get what you pay for.

SLOW production, means slow delivery
Good news, the Monte Carlo fans come in quickly, but you may wait several weeks for the down rods. We are trying to bypass using their proprietary rods for expediency sake. So far we’ve waited 10 days and the rods haven’t left the shipper. Fan looks great, but not worth the hassle to get accessories.
