Great Firepit Kit, very high quality!
I had the 48" fire pit kit shipped to my closest Home Depot. The store was fantastic about loading the fire pit kit into my SUV. Be forewarned, it is very heavy. The store used a forklift to load the palletized fire pit kit into my SUV. I was quite concerned about my SUV bottoming out, but it worked out OK even though I had to drive 100 miles after picking it up. The blocks look fantastic and fit together well. The instructions are very simple to follow. Site preparation is the key!!! The ground needs to be flat so that you can arrange the first course of stones properly. I had additional issues because the association where my cabin is located requires a minimum depth of 18" for the fire pit. The kit results in a depth of about 14", so I had to make some modifications to the install. I first dug a hole to about 12" deep and got the bottom of my hole level using paver base. I then arranged bricks in the size and shape of the ring, and mortared 2 courses of bricks to raise the ring up by 8". I backfilled outside the bricks up to the top of the bricks and leveled the ground around the bricks with more paver base. I installed the fire pit block around the ring and leveled each brick individually when placing them. I ended up using 1 large tube of construction adhesive to lock everything together. I used quite a bit of adhesive on the blocks - way more than the quarter sized dallop the instructions suggested. The large adhesive tube contains 3x the amount of adhesive as the small tubes, and is the same cost as 2 small tubes. I ended up with a fire pit depth of 16 inches after adding 4" of crushed rock into the fire pit for drainage. My one small complaint is that I could not get the steel ring to be circular after assembling it. The ring comes in 2 halves that you bolt together. The area where the halves of the ring overlap is a flat section so there is good surface contact between the two halves of the ring. However, the flat sections result in an oblong shaped ring. I tried to bend the ring to be more round, but was unable to get the ring into a circular shape. It was close, but not quite circular. This caused minor problems with the cap stones. The blocks were no problem since I could arrange them in the oblong shape and they fit together well after some fiddling. The cap stones; however, are shaped to form a perfect circle, but I needed them to conform to the oblong shape of the blocks. I was able to get a great looking result by allowing very small gaps between the cap stones. Overall, I am happy with the results and the purchase. I considered just buying retaining wall blocks, but I really wanted the cap stones for a finished look. After I sourced the ring, the stones, the cap stones, and figured in the labor to shape the cap stones, the cost was very comparable to purchasing the kit, and the kit resulted in far less labor than shaping the cap stones as I built it. I would highly recommend this kit.

Great Looking Fire PIt
I'm typically a 'do it yourself' kind of person, so buying a kit was not my first choice. However, after pricing out putting this size pit together on my own, I realized I would only save about $50-$100, and it most likely wouldn't look as good. So..... I sprung for this kit and am very pleased. I had it delivered to the store and they were able to fork lift it right into the back of my Yukon. Anything smaller and I would have had to take the pallet apart. I did inspect the top few rows of bricks at the store and everything looked good. Brought it home, unloaded it, and spread everything out for assembly. I already had the ground prepped, so assembly truly took less than 30 minutes. Getting the ground cleared, filled and leveled took me more than twice as long. The unit looks great. My wife loves it and the neighbors have given plenty of compliments. We've yet to light a fire as the temps have been in the 80s this past week, but will get it going this weekend. If I have any type of criticism, it's that the top pieces are not the same thickness. I made sure that the first two rows were completely level, but since the top pieces were not the same thickness, the finished product looks uneven. Not the biggest deal, but I'm a little OCD, so it kind of bugged me. My wife told me it looks fine. I built a 'table top' to put over the pit during warm weather so we can use for food and drinks. Haven't stained it yet so don't have any pics. Before putting the ring inside the bricks, I recommend spreading several inches of pea gravel. Make sure that the top of the ring clears the unfinished part of the bricks. Otherwise, if you don't do this, the dull grey part of the bricks will be exposed and it will take away from the look. One last thing... my back yard isn't that large so I was somewhat concerned that it might be too big. Although it is a good size, it's doesn't look out of place. As you'll see by the pics I ripped out a 20' circle of grass and filled with stone for seating. I think it fits perfectly. Hoping this turns into the handout place for my kids and their friends as well as neighbors and family. Would definitely recommend purchasing this product.

Love it !
Great fire pit! Says curbside delivery but the company drug it up to my driveway hand cart. They include 2 extra tops caps. One of mine was chipped. I didn't install right a way 2 weeks after the fact and the metal ring was already rusting on the tips. Not a big deal will hit it with some high heat rustoleum. Wondering if they have replacement rings? I am 5'5 120 lbs and I did this all myself, Bottom rocks are heavy maybe 25lbs? Digging was the hardest part for me I live in a place full of soil and coral rock. Some of the stones on the bottom make it difficult to level had to chisel .(small lumps) There is also paint drips which I can deal with. Ladies if you want project with a great workout this ones for you !

Great fire pit
The fire pit is very high quality. The delivery was easy to schedule and the deliveryman was very accommodating. My build time was longer than the time in the description but the end result was worth the extra time. It looks great and fits a ton of wood. Love this fire pit.

Pretty much as described!
The fire pit arrived and was exactly as shown when ordered. Took about 2 hours to assemble since I already had the site prepared. Some difficulty in getting the first row in since a couple of the pieces were different widths. Overall it came out very good. See attached picture. I did put porcelain tiles over the crushed stone to make cleaning easier.

Absolutely Love It!
This fire pit kit came on one pallet and was extremely easy to install. I have gotten rave reviews from my friends over the look of this fire pit. I would highly recommend! The only thing I added to make life easier was a small stainless round tray with handles to help me with the ashes and keep the rocks in the bottom looking great!

Excellent quality, easy to assemble, complements any landscaping
I couldn't be happier with my recent firepit kit purchase, the kit was well packed and there were no broken items, the instructions were clear and concise, the color of the stones is also perfect. I had been searching for quite sometime for a new firepit and considered all the options, this was the perfect size for our needs. I feel I made the best choice out of all the options available as I was also considering buying all the pieces separately. The ring itself is a big plus and placing the gravel between the ring and the finished product helps the heat dissipate as I was concerned the concrete would crack but they were actually cool to the touch. I am pleased and feel I made a good choice and would recommend the kit to anyone if they wanted to complement their landscaping. It also didn't hurt that when I finally decided to make the purchase that it was on scale which was an even bigger plus.

Perfect for our Yard
This product was easy enough to put together that my boyfriend and neighbor had it assembled before I could get outside. Of course we had to go back and glue it. I don't really like that the cap stones are as light as they are given that the pit rocks are darker. It goes well with the flagstone patio we built. Love our pit! The only thing the instructions were missing was a suggestion to fill the space between the metal ring and the pit stones with pea gravel.

Easy to build.
Easy to build and looks great! You will also need some stone to fill between the blocks and the liner.

Solid Product
Overall, I'm quite happy with the pit. Looks great in my backyard with the small patio I built for it. My only (minor) complaints are that the color of the top cap stones don't really match the side stones that well. I guess I could have noticed in the pictures, but didn't. Maybe that's just my taste. Also, some of the side stones had some pieces fracturing off of them at the edges, but nothing major at all. All in all, a very quality pit that I would recommend to a friend.

Looks Just like it does in the pictures
No surprises. Takes a little longer to set up than illustrated but I am pleased with it. Packaged nicely on one pallet. You will need to add some Stone or gravel as filler between steel rim and wall and on the ground.

this product is not how it looks on the picture , on this picture is really yellow and white looking. the real color of this item is more dark and some yellow stripes across the stone . I will recommend this item if the picture and the item are the same but is not the case .

Cosmetically it looks very nice although the top caps are very brittle and chip off easily It’s pricey for how brittle the pieces are - true cinder blocks, but it does the job and has an old school look

Really disappointed that within a year each of the top blocks cracked despite being installed per directions. Contacted Home Depot which explained that "the manufacture warranty does not cover cracks in the block due to excessive heat." Excessive heat? It's a fire pit!

Alert, One of the top pavers arrived broken in half! Ugh!. Discovered after I picked it up from the Home Depot store. Phoned customer service, and they promptly stated they would order an extra replacement top paver. Hopefully, it will be the correct color and size. Customer service said they would guarantee all parts. Haven't put it together yet, but will follow up with another review with pics and outcome/and recommendations. The stones look fantastic. My only quirk-is that it doesn't come with any 48" fire pit bowl insert-to help with ease of cleaning. I can't seem to find any on the internet that large either. We do have a 40" fire pit copper bowl insert from a previous fire pit, I may try to use in inside of the steel ring. I'll provide feedback. I would recommend this pit.

Nice fire pit, but instructions could use some explanation
Directions hard to follow with two different types of stone. Ones we figured out it didn't matter, it was fine. You will need about a quarter cubic yard of good packing gravel. Looked beautiful when done and have yet to use it

          Solid, good-looking product
The "kit" was delivered to my driveway; the hardest part of the project was moving all the stones to the installation site since they weighed over 1/2 ton. I followed the included instructions and the finished product looked as good as the pictures on the website. I am very satisfied.

            Even better than my expectation!!
Not only does it look cool. It gives us something to do with out actually doing anything. Just pull up some chairs, share a bottle of wine and enjoy watching the flames dance and hear the wood crackle.

              Great Pit!
This pit was assembled in an afternoon. It is exactly what we were looking for a large, easy to assemble and attractive fire pit for our yard. We did not want a small pit or something portable we wanted a large pit for nice size fires that family and friends could enjoy year round. We purchased this in May and it is now Nov. and we have had no problems and lot's of great fires.

Fire pit was bigger then I was thinking but easy to install, looks great. When compared to other fir pits this is the best value for the money hands down. Had it set up in about one hour.

Awesome buy looks way more expensive than it is
We bought a new house and one must have was a fire pit and not just some small dinky metal one but one that we could build ourselves but didn't look a mess. I searched online and found this firepit. I was skeptical on how it would look and how hard it would be to set up. Was delivered fast, packaging was secure and was so easy to assemble. Pea gravel is the way to go when assembling this and make sure the black ring is level with the second layer of blocks otherwise when you fill the spaces with gravel it looks weird. Anyway the finished product is amazing and they even gave us extra top blocks incase one was cracked or defective.

                  Perfect fire pit.
This was one of the very few items I have purchased that went togther exactly as the instructions stated. Prior to my purchase I called the manufacturer and they were extremely helpful in color selection and dimensions. If you are looking for a quality fire pit that assembles with ease this is the one to buy. They even provide extra stones in case some are damaged in shipment. Great product! Highly reccomened. !!
