After the recent hurricane here in Texas, a relative lost most of the dock that was on the Colorado river. The flood also destroyed the PVC water line that fed the fish cleaning table and water basin that was on the dock. We decided that we needed to cap off the line until we could rebuild. I was a little leery of using a one step cement in fear that if it didn't hold, it might be days before the leak was discovered. No worries as it has been holding for over a month. It seems to works as well as any two part primer/glue system I have used.

I’m completing a small plumbing project involving PVC pipe, and found it simpler and easier to use this single-step glue than the traditional 2-step solvent-clean and glue method. It still has a “goopy” consistency, but because it’s clear, messes are less apparent. For non-plumbing PVC applications (PVC furniture), avoiding the “blue” stain left behind by cleaning solvents, makes this a better choice. It seemed to set up with-in just a few seconds, although the instructions on the container suggest it’s ready for “good handling strength” (whatever that means) in 15 minutes, and for use under pressure after 2 hours cure time (above 60 degrees). These are the same cure times recommended for my 2-step cement, so overall and ounce-for-ounce, this product is both a time and money-saver. Why buy 2 cans of product (cleaner and glue), when you can use one (combo) that is comparably priced to a single can of the other? This is the PVC glue that I will use from now on, and would recommend to others.

OATEY FUSION for PVC IS PRIMER AND CEMENT ALL IN ONE! Oatey this certainly is making PVC repairs and replacement easier. A nice tall 10 Fl Oz can That is clear in color. No more 2 steps of messing with blue primer then applying cement as your repairing or replacing PVC. This item will be replacing the two individual cans of Oatey primer and cement that has been used throughout the years of replacing the PVC attached to the sprinkler heads throughout my 1/2 acre. Too many times I would use the cement for a repair. The next time I grab the can the contents of the cement is a thick paste which ends up in the trash. I hope with the primer and cement combined will prevent me from throwing away Oatey Fusion away after only one or 2 repairs. For those that install irragation systems on a regular basis I would think this is a dream come true!

One step and clear cement. I make a lot of things with PVC pipe and its nice that it is clear and no drips and dries fast.. No more 2 step with prepping and purple stuff dripping all over and I had plenty of time to insert the ends I put a hose end connector on a 3/4 inch pvc pipe to use it to remove some grounding rods from a temporary electric fence held up after testing it with water 5minutes later.

I was skeptical at first, but this Fusion PVC cement worked as both a primer and cement. I normally prime all my PVC connections first and then cement. I had a couple of sprinkler valves go bad and needed to replace line connections at the manifold and decided to try this cement. While only a minor issue the cap on the container was on so tight, it took a pipe wrench to get it off. Once I got the cap off, the brush applicator worked very nice to apply the right amount of cement. I had one of the pipes at a slight angle which is usually troublesome trying to glue around and get into the connector. The viscosity of the cement allowed me to get the pipe into the tight connection and then set up with very little dripping of the cement. It worked great and allowed just enough time to set the other pipes into the manifold and adjust so all fit nicely. No leaks !!!
