We do value you as a customer and can assure you that our pickets are normally of excellent quality. However, as wood dries, it may split, cup and warp, which are natural occurrences of wood. Dear Katie, we’re so sorry to see that you had a less than stellar experience with our product. To protect your lumber from the elements, we recommend using a semitransparent stain or a sealant which contains an ultraviolet stabilizer. The stabilizer will not prevent eventual discoloration to a weathered gray appearance, but it will slow the process down. If you stain your project, a quality penetrating oil base stain is recommended. Whatever you choose, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
