A: Hi, this is Stacy with Simpson Strong-Tie. The PGT Pipe Grip Tie comes with one 1/4" Hex-head bolt. The screws for the rail connection are not supplied. For that connection you may use our 1/4" x 1 1/2" SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws. If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you.
A: They're designed for 2.375 Outside Diameter pipe. Therefore, if you mean the Outside Diameter of your pipe is 2.25 inches, yes, these will fit. However, if the inside diameter of your pipe is 2.25 inches, they might fit but it will be tight.
A: Yes
A: Yes it will fit.
A: Hi Chris, this is Colin from Simpson Strong-Tie. A 2 1/4" pipe might fit, but it would be very tight. The PGT2-R is designed for a 2" diameter pipe. The outside diameter is 2 3/8". If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you.
A: Hello, this is Stacy with Simpson Strong-Tie. We recommend using at least a medium level of corrosion protection for pressure-treated lumber in an outdoor application. ZMAX is considered a medium level of corrosion protection. However, other factors would need to be considered in case you need to use a higher level like stainless steel. Please take a look at our corrosion classifications table obtained by the AWPA. Standard SDS screws are made with a double-barrier coating which is also a medium level of corrosion protection. Stainless steel SDS screws should only be used with stainless steel connectors. If you have any questions please call us at (800) 999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you.
A: You may simply cut the rail a same angle like the slope for the strong tie. Then the two rails would contact together perfectly with a thin seam.
A: Hi James, this is McKenzie thank you for your message. We want to make sure we address your question in regard to the angle, rails, and slopes, and the PGT2. To better assist you and your application. please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
A: As a fence installer. The tabs on the brackets will bend. I have attached the fence rail with two lag bolts and have moved the opposite end of the rail to what ever angle I needed without any issues.
