Difficult to install in my case but amazing once installed. Very quiet and it sucks a lot of air. Get the one with the motion/humidity sensor. It is worth it.

The installation of this fan was fairly easy! Even a one armed man can do it (my left arm was broken recently, and I have limited use of it)! After removing the old fan, a larger hole had to be cut, a simple task with a keyhole saw. The fan utilizes a mounting frame, which makes the job much easier. Use two screws to attach the frame to the rafter/joist, then extend the other side of the frame to contact the next rafter/joist, and use two more screws to attach it there.. Next, you snap the fan body into the frame and secure it with another pair of metal screws. All that's left to do is connect the sensor to the fan cover, insert the power plug into the receptacle, and then compress the retaining springs and push them up into the slots of the fan body. The final step is to push the cover up flush to the ceiling. We are using only the timer function, which is an excellent feature. We maxed out the humidity sensor, so the fan won't turn on due to muggy conditions (this is installed in a half bath, NOT a full bath with a shower). We leave the wall switch ON all the time, so the fan will turn on automatically when someone enters the room, and then shuts itself off "x" minutes later, after the person leaves the room ("x" is the timer setting .. we chose 10 minutes). It is a great fan, and it is very quiet, while being extremely effective at exhausting the bathroom air.

We recently replaced 3 fans fir this ones. It is perfect. No foggy bathroom anymore. It turned on automatictly once you step in to the bathroom. Very poverfull fan. Not noisy like others. You cannot even notice sometimes its on or off. Highly reccomend

I love these fans and have installed two, but the design does not accommodate what my house has which is two layers of ceiling drywall, totaling 1-1/4 inches of ceiling drywall. The most the standard installation of this fan can accommodate is just under an inch (see the photo), so I have to carve a layer of drywall to accomodate the bottom flange. I mark around the edge of the flange and use a razor knife/box-cutter to carve-out just one of the two layers. As the old fans are mounted next to joists, there is probably a fastener in that space, so it's good to use a finder to locate it before you start cutting. It all adds to the mess of enlarging the hole from the old fan. This is a pain, but otherwise, the fan is quiet and moves air very well. Gee, it would be great if Panasonic designed the fan with a bit more clearance so that such field modifications were not required where two sheets of 5/8 inch drywall make-up the ceiling. What do you think Panasonic?

Super quiet. Grill has clean lines and is pretty slim. Motion sensor works great. The output duct is fairly high on the side of the unit, which makes routing ducting easier over studs. Paid a bit more than some of the cheaper units, but once you start cutting holes in your ceiling and investing in ducting, it is more critical the base unit is good for the long run.

Just got this installed. Newly remodeled bathroom. Super quiet. It does have a 2 second delay whenever I turned the switch on. Unable to get an answer from Panasonic if this is normal. Only used it a couple of times. Hoping it will continue to work well and last a long time. My contractor did not say anything about installation. So I guess it’s not difficult if you know what your are doing.

Really quiet, easy to install, nice bathroom exhaust.The only drawback is motion sensor is very sensitive and if you keep your bathroom door open, the fan will kick on just by walking by. I read about that elsewhere (there was nothing about that in the manual) and tried it myself. It worked; all you have to do is to angle the sensor a little bit outwards from walking area to stop this issue. You may be able to see that in my pictures attached.

Easy to install and once turned on it was so quiet I had to hold a piece of paper up to the grill to make sure it was running. This is the first exhaust fan that I have installed that was actually whisper quiet. Excellent product.

I purchased this fan to replace a very loud fan. I have had previous experiences with Panasonic fans so knew that it would be quieter than the existing one. This new fan although much much quieter than the old one feels like it pulls more air too. Installation required making an oversize hole because there was not any access from above. Also, I had to go down from the 4" diameter duct to the existing 3". Overall it took about a half day, including the drywall patch. Add another couple hours for finishing the drywall patch and then paint.

Much superior construction, design, and performance compared to the 20 year old 50 CFM ventilation fan being replaced incident to bathroom remodel. Operation is barely audible thanks to the WhisperCeiling feature. The 4" metal duct adapter is sturdy and readily accepted the 90 degree metal elbow which I opted to install to clear the top of the adjoining joist for insuring a reasonably straight run of the flexible insulated duct selected for venting to the outside. The suspension brackets provide for solid mounting to ceiling joists.

I purchased the fan to replace an old fan, installed and set timer and humidity the fan kept running non stop, switched with another one of the same model at Home Depot, this time it works ok at times and sometimes it runs non stop, thought humidity was keeping the fan on so I placed a heater in the bathroom so I could be sure but nothing changed, there are times it seems to work ok and sometimes keeps running. I am sure there is an issue with the sensors not working properly on these fans.

Bought 4 fans total, and 2 fans with humidity and motion sensors were installed in our remodel. Both fans with sensors failed within 3 months.

I purchased two of these about 6 months apart after buying a similar one 6 years ago which works flawlessly and is super quiet. These ones are not. Worse, the motion sensors have a mind of their own. No matter what runtime setting I choose, they sometimes turn off within a few seconds or even run all night. Based on the quality of my other Panasonic fan, I had expected these to be flawless. Not worth the premium price with those sensor issues. Especially odd to see identical behavior from two fans I bought over 6 months apart. Maybe I got unlucky twice.

Fan is very quiet, had adjustable humidity sensor and motion timer, great airflow, easy install... although instructions are not the best. If you are familiar with installing fans you won't have any issues. I had attic access to complete the install but if you are skilled this can just as easily be installed from the room as long as there is enough clearance for the fan to fit
