Hi. We are the manufacturer of PoolTime products. The 3-in-1 Surface Solution isn't capable of changing the texture of the water or creating accumulations like you're describing. The Solution is a metal sequestrant that binds to metal to keep it in solution and caps off active sites on calcium to prevent scale. Biofilm, water mold, calcium deposits and oils come more to mind when you see a filter gumming or clogging up. Please give us a call at 800-252-7665 so we can discuss the matter in more detail. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that your recent experience with our 3-in-1 Surface Solution fell short of expectation. Metal stains within a pool, like other types of stains outside of a pool, are most easily treated when the stain is fresh. Once a stain has become set, it is generally more difficult to remove. When dealing with stains that are more difficult to remove, we recommend balancing your pool's pH to 7.2, which is the low side of the ideal pH range (7.2 to 7.6), and brushing the affected area frequently. Additional applications of this product may be added to help lift the stain.
