Bad angle design
I own a lot of Ridgid tools. I've been impressed with them since I bought my first drill and impact tool. Batteries last forever. However this one is total trash. The motor has plenty of power but it's totally worthless because of the angle the cutting head makes with the battery. I put the slimist 2Ah they make and the battery still hits the work piece before the guard can lay flat. At most the blade extends 3/8in. This significantly reduces what you can cut with this. What a waste!

Do not buy. NO WOOD BLADE, others hard to get.
Condescending Ridgid replies: "This product is made for cutting drywall, plastic, tile, ceramics, steel, stainless steel, fiber cement, and non-ferrous materials. We hope this provides clarity!"
Clarity, yes. That they sell a saw that will cut steel, cement, tile and the like, but NOT WOOD!? If I hadn't waited so long to use it, I would have returned it. Under-powered and several design flaws. But now I'm stuck with a useless saw that I MIGHT be able to retrofit with another brand's wood blade.

Designed wrong.
Bought this today to cut metal roofing. It cuts great right up until the battery catches on the material being cut. If they had just rotated the handle up another 15 degrees like the Milwaukee it would be much better. Also for some reason it stops mid cut like it's being over worked. I was cutting 29ga. metal roofing. Another problem is after wearing about 1/4" of the cut off wheel it wouldn't reach the work piece. I chose the Rigid because I have several of their tools and a bunch of batteries.

It will quit working and I have to take the battery off and put it back on to work for a minute and quit again.

Handy little thing
I have been using it to cut aluminum and steel. With all the offered blades it will honestly cut anything. It has tons of rpm and holds it well even with some good pressure applied. It also cuts tile super fast and easy.

Great little saw!
I’m no expert. I used this to cut a small number of floor tiles. This tool made it very easy to do, for a diy project. It seems very sturdy, well-built. The batteries I had for another Ridgid tool fit and worked perfectly.

For certain jobs it the right tool
I use this saw quite a bit in my remodeling business. It is compact and when not overloaded it cuts well. It does consume batteries quickly. My main concerns are having to do with how easily the thermal cut off is tripped. I mainly use it with a diamond blade to cut tile, metal, concrete board, and similar materials. Even with light pressure it sometimes shuts itself off every 5-20 seconds when cutting, which means you then have to remove the battery and reconnect it to reset it.
