This set up is by far the best combo out, I have to do a lot of anchoring and drilling into tile and concrete and the hammer drill makes it super easy!! 110% recommended to contractors or home owners!

I only use Ridgid due to warranty and personal experience haven’t had any quality issues. The octane saw is no exception. This thing rips thru it all! No more cords! Making my basement remodel a breeze!!!!

This is the 2nd generation of this saw I have purchased the first was the Octane and this one the R8657 is the top! Ridgid has made improvements especially over the cut-out electronics and power. I matched this unit with the 6.0 Max output and found no cut-out issues as found in previous gen and other manufacturers. It is a perfect match for the Max Output battery system. I would wait for a sale or buy this with a 6.0 Max battery.

I wanted cordless so I could eliminate worrying about a cord catching on something and twisting the saw and trashing the cut. The arrival of brushless technology brought enough power that I finally decided to try changing. I'm glad I did. This RIDGID 7 1/4 inch Circular Saw has more capability than I think I need, at least until the next project (funny how that works). A 56 degree bevel with 0 stop that can be calibrated. Blade alignment notches on the base to calibrate a square blade. A strong work light right above the cut. Depth adjustment, spindle lock button, included allen key for blade change, and a shop vac adapter (T-20) screw. I admit the shop vac adapter is a nice-to-have sometimes, but using it puts me back to worrying about the vac hose catching on something and twisting the saw and trashing the cut. There is a built in rafter hook that might come in really handy when I get around to putting some access walkways in the trusswork. The saw uses the standard RIDGID 18V batteries so I can share batteries among all my RIDGID tools. RIDGID also lets you register the tool for Lifetime Service Agreement that includes free batteries but that requires a Home Depot receipt and if someone gave you the tool it could be a bit awkward. I can also fit this to a sled and edge guide to turn it into a track saw.

I have been using circular saws for all manner of projects around the house and in the shop for as long as I can remember, but their major drawback is the need for a nearby power supply or long enough extension cords. This drill set me free from this need. The tool itself has plenty of power and quickly cuts through plywood and dimensional lumber. It handles well, though with the battery installed it is relatively heavy. This is going to be my go-to saw for the majority of wok outside the shop.

Superior cordless saw that uses a full 7-1/4" blade, and has a super 5,400 RPM for better cutting power. This model has a sidewinder motor, which is lighter and has a higher blade speed than a worm drive saw. This brushless motor creates less heat which could damage the motor, and less friction, so it is more efficient. There is also an LED light to allow you to see the cut line when ambient lighting is low. Also, there is a port for a vacuum hose attachment.

Ridgid 7-1/4" saw is great very easy to use and to change blades. Hex key for blade mounts on top of the saw, very handy. This saw is good for framing buildings and many other carpentry jobs. It angel cuts and hooks to a vacumue cleaner, this works great to help control dust. I use a 4.0 battery with it and it lasts a long time for me. I have several Ridgid tools now and I love them all.

It doesn't drain batteries as much I'd been thought. In fact, it's very efficient. It doesn't overheat when cutting thicker wood. I love the convenience and freedom of cordless and eliminating the power cord. Paired with an OCTANE battery (batteries not included), this tool gives 35% more power. Offers up to 56 degree beveling cuts for added versatility. 100% Compatible with all RIDGID 18V Batteries and Chargers which eliminates the need for difference types of chargers. My husband loves all the precise measurement markings on this saw, and this will be very helpful when he is cutting. Since this tool-only saw does not come with batteries, I bought the Ridgid 4ah 2-pack of batteries with a charger and carrying bag from Home Depot during their sale for $99.00. When used with our new 4ah batteries, this saw is very powerful, and it has an onboard light that turns on for better visibility when cutting. Made in China. My husband is very happy that he no longer needs to drag around a power cord when using his circular saw!

They've stepped up the speed on this one. I was surprised at the speed and cost of this one. It's a great looking saw first of all. It has an LED that makes seeing what you're doing easier. It is a brushless motor. Less maintenance, more power/speed. It has an Electronic Blade Break that stops the blade really quickly when you release the trigger. This saw uses the popular 7-1/4" blades with the 5/8" arbor, than can be found anywhere. Cutting depth at 90° is 2-9/16, 1-3/4 at 45° and the bevel capacity is 56°. The speed of the saw is up to 5400rpm. You can attach an optional edge guide if you desire. A well-made rafter hook is already installed and ready to use. They stepped it up on this one, yet kept it affordable. This a great saw, well-made and will last me for many years.

RIDGID 18V Brushless Cordless 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw (Tool Only). This is a compact saw with a 7-1/4” bite. There are many features that make the saw handy. The depth gage makes it easy to set the blade depth in ¼” increments up to 2-1/2” deep. The angle setting has every possible point for most common angles that are easy to set with the angle gage. The saw does not come with a charger and battery but does include a 7-1/4” 24 tooth carbide tipped blade. The blade is changed with an Allen wrench included on the side of the saw handle for easy storage. There is also an arbor locking button to make blade changing easy and secure. There is a provision for a slide for horizontal cut settings, but the slide is an option and not included in this offering. There is an electronic blade brake to stop the spinning blade after relies of the trigger. A suction vacuum hose attachment is included to help eliminate saw dust during cutting. The limited 3-year warranty can be extended by registering the product for a lifetime service agreement. The 18-volt motor delivers 5400 RPM of power for fast cutting. The saw is right hand specific but could be operated with the left hand. The trigger requires that the safety thumb switch be pressed to allow the trigger to engage. The thumb trigger can be selected from either side of the handle.

Definitely, a Pro Level tool! Out of the box, and there’s nothing necessary but to install the standard 7 ¼” general framing grade 24-tooth blade with the hex key, not only included, but has it’s own ‘storage spot’ on the saw! Always available, never lost. And if you’re already a Ridgid user like I am, just grab a spare battery and off to your next job. The push button blade lock holds securely when tightening or loosening the blade on the tool, and the hex wrench is right there! For freedom of movement, it even includes a belt clip, that folds safely out of the way, when not in use. The miter gauge is extremely well marked, for precise setting, as is setting the blade depth. Very well marked! And both have an easily accessible lock to ensure your saw adjustments stay where you put them. And with the exhaust chute, feel free to hook up your shop vac or dust collection system, no sweat. This saw has it all!

Stalls out way too easy. Only good for small light jobs.

Have had Rigid products prior to this purchase, I absolutely love this product! The deal that was provided was extremely hard to beat.

I've used RIDGID for almost 20yrs. In the last 10yrs I've purchased $10K+ of dollars of RIDGID tools for me & my crew. Since 2021, RIDGID 18v tools have become almost worthless. This saw is trash. It doesn't run. It just flashes a light and the blade stays still. This is the 5th time I've had an issue like this & HD no longer repairs I bought a battery set in 2020 that is still running strong and I use them every day. Likely switching to DEWALT - the only battery system left that isn't junk.

Solid case and storage. 4ah and 6ah are good start. Had to get a 2ah battery for my set up. 4ah and impact driver was to heavy to carry up and down 10-12ft ladders. Expected more from a high tourqe hammer drill, cuts out and light blinks from medium duty concrete drilling. Have to take battery out and put back on. Recommend 8ah or higher for hammer drill, seems to run a little better. Impact driver is a little monster, keep her on speed 2. Speed 3 snaps tapcon heads off immediately

Saw only runs 25%percent of the time you pull the trigger. Can't get 2 cuts in a row without having to remove and reinsert the battery to get it to work.
