Ridgid Close Quarters Tubing Cutter
I recently purchased a Ridgid 1” Close Quarters Tubing Cutter. It comes with a spare wheel. This Ridgid cutter is capable of cutting between 1/4” and 1 1/8” thick tubing. At the present time for the project that I am working on I only need it for cutting a 1/2” plastic coated copper gas line. I have a Generac Centurion backup generator and I needed to run a new 1/2” gas line to it. I dug my 18” trench and buried the new line, then cut the line with the Ridgid tube cutter close to the unit where it is stubbed out of the ground. Now I just need to get a couple of fittings to connect it up to the tank and generator. This Ridgid tube cutter makes for an easy and quick clean cut. It is also designed to be used in tight spaces. I highly recommend it.

I decided to buy a new tubing cutter rather than replace the cutting wheel in my old, off brand cutter. This cutter is better made. One problem I've had in the past is that when cutters wear, or are not made well, they cut a spiral in the surface of the tubing. This one cuts straight and easily. I used it to cut the new steel brake lines for my 1959 Ford Fairlane.

Quality product
First time for me having to cut copper pipe to install my new Rheem water heater. I probably could have picked a cheaper cutter, but liked the design and felt this one would probably be more solid and last for years. Cut the pipe easy as expected and the small size would allow me to do other jobs if needed. Just follow the directions and watch a few YouTube videos if its your first time using one of these.

      Tool Broken on First Use
I purchased this tool online and had just received it. Had a 1" older stainless steel pipe to cut. Made a score in the pipe and about 1/2 of the way through the cutting, a very important piece on the tool snapped and broke. I was unable to use it at that point and ended up completing the cut with a hacksaw. To me, it was clearly faulty manufacturing. There is nothing about using this on an older pipe so this should not have happened. I plan to return it for either a replacement or my money back, but the tool did not function to my satisfaction.

        Cuts like a beast.
Used it to cut 1/2 inch Type L CTS and 3/4 black iron pipe. The copper was like popping open a pixie stix. The iron pipe took more, but this thing sliced through it without complaint.

At first I bought the Home Depot brand cutter because I didn't want to pay $25 for a tubing cutter that I would only use a few times. But the first time I tried using the Home Depot brand cutter it literally broke in half. So after that experience I decided to spend the money because of the copper tubing I had to cut. It had to be clean and straight and I only had one shot at it. This thing worked perfectly. Now I have it in case I need to cut any more copper, except for the fact that all I use now is PEX LOL Anyway, I highly recommend this product, it's well worth the price.

First, I'm a female who needed to have a water shut off valve repaired due to it leaking when turned off. I called a plumbing company and they quoted me $800 to $1,000 to replace shut off valve and put in a new toilet I bought. I thought "no way - I'll do it myself!" I watched you tube on replacing shut off valve and then on setting a toilet. I was really to tackle it. Well, I couldn't get the old valve off so I ran to Home Depot and bought this cutter. It worked perfectly and I replace the water shut off valve all by myself!! Getting ready to set new toilet next!

For me the Ridgid #101 Tube Cutter is a back saver. Long Story short, running electrical wire almost 400’ through underground conduit proved to be more difficult than it should have been. I ended up digging three holes in difficult, dry, compacted clay. I was able to easily cut the PVC tubing and access the wire and advance my cause without digging deeper. Happy is an understatement. I would have surely damaged the wiring if I had used a hack saw or other type of cutter. This cutter is well constructed, guaranteed, easy to use, and even comes with a replacement blade. It is at least professional grade and of the quality one has learned to expect from the Ridgid Brand. Great Tube Cutter, Ridgid.

First and foremost the product was made in the United States of America! It was not overpriced compared to the foreign-made jobs. This product is made by Rigid it is a three-quarter inch Close Quarters tubing cutter catalog no. 32985 model No. 104 made in USA .I used it for cutting 3/16" steel brake line and 3/8 steel line gas line on my car it worked great. Even though the standard cutter wheel is for copper and aluminum ( cat. No. 33185 / model no. E - 3469). It didn't seem to dull it because I cut copper after that. There is also another cutter wheel for soft flexible plastic available ( cat no. 33200 / model no. E - 1740). I've also cut 1/2" copper when I replace the faucet and toilet in my bathroom. The only thing I noticed that it didn't have was a Reemer attached to it. It's Much more compact and able to get into Close Quarters then a standard tubing cutter. Rigid manufacturing you did it again for me excellent product I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. This is a great addition to my toolbox. Thanks again. I hope you enjoyed my review of this excellent product.

Just purchased and only used one time so far for a test. Re-piping under house and wanted to be sure it worked before crawling down there. Good clean cut on 1" copper with minimal burr to ream out. For the knuckleheads complaining that the "included spare cutter" is missing; Unscrew the handle. For the knuckleheads at Rigid; tell the knucklehead users it is under the handle.

It's the classic, more compact than the new fangled thing offered along side, as easy to use as the full size one for a few cuts in a repair situation, as soon as I started in on the repair I found the old one with other stuff I had to go find, so I suppose it's too easy to misplace. This one is well enough aligned that I can go round and round and it stays in the original groove instead of making a spiral scratch on the pipe. We are supposed to go back and fourth to stay in the cut and on my old full sized unit it's the only way

This cutter worked really well, making nice clean cuts. I cut 1/2"-3/4" copper pipe, 3/4" PEX, 1/2" CPVC, and 1/2" PEX with it, and it worked well for all. Just make sure to adjust it tighter on each turn. I've only had the tool for a couple weeks. (View in my picture is the backside of the cutter.)

I needed to install shutoff valves in two 3/4" copper water lines, but they are only1-1/8" apart. The Rigid 104 Tubing Cutter did the job with no problem. It fit nicely in the small space between the water lines and turned true, staying in one place and not spiraling down the copper tubing.

            Wow! How easy was that?!
I have always used a hacksaw to cut through PVC. I was able to buy supplies for and build a cover for my garden ALL IN ONE DAY! Love this device! So easy to use and the cuts are clean!

Easy to use in tight quarters. The cut does not “spiral cut” after making the first circular cut without side pressure.
