I love this so much, I bought 3 of them!
I've got 3 of these, 1 in each car and other in my UTV. They're really handy for power on the go, and I love that they can be used with a 12v vehicle power source, or, powered with the included battery top adapter for on-the-go charging anywhere life takes you! Compared to others on the market, the price point is great, and the others don't have battery capability. Great product! I even used mine to charge my electric scooter!

    Power on the move.
If you have other Ryobi One 18V products and batteries this is a great add on product. It works well both off the 18V battery or in your vehicle. I tested both ways. We lost power with the Texas freeze and used this to charge phone. I also tested it on my laptop. My laptop was dead and the battery died but charged computer to 95%. Our car ignition had to be turned on to power the inverter. There is one 120V outlet and 2 USB.

Nice compact Dual power 18 v and 120 v inverter for Home or Car
This Ryobi dual power inverter is a great compact unit for charging portable items like cell phones, tablets, laptops, e readers, etc. Or you can use it for powering oter household items like lights, radios, small appliances, etc. The dual inverter has 2- USB -A outlets, and 1 120 volt outlets. The kit includes the inverter, and both the 12 volt and 18 volt adapter cables. All Ryobi One+ 18 volt batteries can be used. ( battery is Not included in the kit). We have used this many times for differevt uses. A few times when the power has gone out, we charge our phones easily. Wechave pulled lights into the 120 volt plug, and also used it in the car for continuous use on trips with my tablet, and phone. It is quite a handy unit! It is compact enough to easily store in a glovebox or tool bag, etc. Highly recommend it for power outages!!!

    Handy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to charge my laptop in my car and soldering iron when outdoor. Now i can charge and solder using a 4ah battery with 2 extra usb port to charge my phone. Small profile and can even fit on my back pocket! Brand is reliable. I have been using Ryobi for years and products are affordable.

Low Power only. Could be great/useful but isn't.
2015 GMC Acadia has three outlets and not one can power this thing (green light glow). I have other inverters with no issue in this car. Making this finicky sort of defeats the purpose. Adapter for the 18+ batteries has no way to secure the battery so any movement and off it comes This is for very low power applications maybe a tablet or phones. Can't use a MacBook Pro. No 18+ battery of any size could. I'll try another solution for that. Maybe the 40V system.

        Small and compact
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 of them originally. I had the one that sits onto of the battery. But that was to cumbersome because I had to unplug the cords that went to my dept 56 village then lift the unit up. Then take the battery out to charge it up. These new automotive ones are slim like a radar detector. And they are easier to change out the batter when recharging. So now I went and got 2 more the other day because I will use the other 2 fir my village. I still have the larger inverter and will use it when emergency situations.

          Only if it work
Not even a week old and doesn't work. Well it did for 2 minutes and than it gave out. Tried with a Ryobi battery. Still nothing. So I know it not my car . Does the same thing with the battery and it fully charge. A 6amp battery. 1st time using it also.

Makes a buzzing sound - is this normal?
This will charge a phone via the usb plugs and power a low voltage item such as a lamp using a LED light. Mine makes a low buzzing sound when the lamp was plugged in. It needs something to keep the battery attached, it disconnects when you move it.

              Great travel item!
Get this inverter immediately! Although you can get plenty of plug-in usb ports for your car's "cigarette lighter," the addition of a three-prong socket makes it invaluable for trips. While many electronics have a charger that can be disconnected from a power brick to plug into a usb port, there are still plenty of items that you may want to have with you that have a regular plug. This inverter of course can connect to your vehicle dash but also has the option to run off of a Ryobi 18-V battery to make it truly portable.

              Convenient
The Ryobi One+ Power inverter, to use with either an 18V Ryobi battery or plugging into a car, is all about convenience. The auto inverter is amazing. I can now plug in a laptops, tablets, phones, etc to charge in the car. Not sure when I'll use the battery adapter, but we do have a few Ryobi batteries laying around. So I am positive that it will be utilized as a portable charger for us.

              For low power appliances only
The Ryobi One+ Power Inverter works only with small appliances that have low power requirements of under 120 Watts. Using a Ryobi 18v battery, I could successfully run (one at a time) a portable CD player/radio, a floor lamp, a table lamp and oscillating fan. Using its 12v auto adapter, it wasn’t powerful enough to operate my power tool battery chargers, which would’ve been of great use at a job site. When I used the USB port to charge my iPad, it did so at a rate of 20% charge per hour. Overall, this charger may be best suited as a supplement to a more powerful and useful primary unit.

Versatile and compact for AC and USB power
This inverter runs off a Ryobi One battery as well as powering off a plug that inserts into an automobile's 12V socket. Using battery power I used it to power a laptop and was very happy to see that the power switch illuminates brightly to confirm that the inverter is powered on. The power switch, very desirably, requires a firm press and hold action to power on and to power off. That positive action, coupled with the switch being recessed, means that it is unlikely that the switch will be accidentally turned off or accidentally turned on. The inverter is compact and light weight so it is easy to pack and place. The 120 watts is plenty for running portable electronics. The bright color helps make the device visible so that it can be found in case there is clutter. The Ryobi One battery presses into the connector easily, however it does not lock or click into place so some care is needed to ensure that the parts do not inadvertently disconnect. I have rechargable flashlights that have USB connectors and I can see this inverter's USB ports charging flashlights off either an SUV 12V outlet or from a battery while relaxing.

              Power on the Go...
The RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt/12-Volt Power Inverter is what they say, power whether you are in the car or on-the-move. Here we have it connected with the 18v battery and you can connect with an adapter plugged in the inverter to the devices charge port, or USB on the inverter to the devices charge port. Great here in the northwest where we have winter power outages. Next is the inverter connect to the power outlet in our older SUV and again you can use one of two ways to power your devices. Its compact and lightweight, easily stored in a compartment in the car or packed for camping and in a drawer in the house for back-up charging. Features: "Equipped with one 120-Volt outlet and two USB-A outlets, and backed by a 3-year limited warranty.

              Great camping tool
Arrived in time for us to take along on a weekend trip. I have a couple of the 18V batteries so its a nice add on tool for that. It just slides onto your battery and can power 2 USB's or a 120 outlet. The kids used for charging the laptops and phones, it came in handy to run a small fan in the tent. One battery fully charged lasted the weekend no problem and I ended up not needing a second battery. We tried to run a coffee machine off it - but it didn't work instead it tripped. Works great with small loads, tested a lamp and rechargeable flashlight and it was good to go. It has its place for usefull tools, but its limited.

Awesome Inverter For Car RV Etc...
This is a great inverter with options to plug in a 2 or 3 prong 120 volt cord like a lamp and a USB for charging your cell phone plus a 5 volt USB device. You have to hold down the power button until it turns green and your good to go. I tried this in my truck and you can see from my pictures it worked perfectly attached to the power port. The option of using the battery works good but the connection to the battery needs to be longer because it does not feel secure and can be easily bumped and cause the connection to be lost.

Fine for Recharging Phones and powering very low amperage appliances
This will provide power from any 18V One + battery that you already own or are going to buy or optionally from your cars battery using the included cable. The battery easily powered a lamp illuminated with an LED bulb with the 120v outlet sourced from the battery or the car through the cigarette lighter and will work with an equivalent 12v DC power supply. In addition to the one 120v outlet the inverter also has two USB outlets to facilitate the use of stored power in the One+ batteries to charge cell phones several times from each battery or power AC power supplies for a computer or other appliance of a very low power demand. If you wanted to run a fan or something like that, you will need a more powerful inverter. I discovered that you have to hold down on the power button until it turns green, not just a press and release. I did the press and release and though the device was defective, but it was just fine with the long hold on the power button. Anything that you try to use that overloads the inverter will trigger the overload shutdown and give you a red light in place of the normal green power button until you remove the device that caused the overload and reset the power button with the long press until it once again illuminates green. The hood type adapter that goes on top of the batteries is not a secure fit and easily comes loose from the battery if you are moving it or the cord that powers your lamp or whatever. Ryobi could make improvements in that area for sure. It just slides down about an inch and a half over the battery top without further attachment or enclosure.

              Not true sine wave.
This is a great inverter for running LED lights. I use it both off the 18-volt battery, and off my solar power system using the 12 volt power plug. It will work great in my SUV as well. At 120 watts, it is overkill for the lights I am running, but it never hurts to have more then you need. Having the USB jacks is nice for charging my cell phone, tablet and Kindle. I also have a couple of USB powered devices that it works for.

Re-Charge and Power Tools and Accessories on the Go
This compact little inverter is a very handy accessory to have around - see video. It will operate from either any RYOBI ONE+ 18V battery or any 12V auto outlet. With one 120V AC outlet and two USB outlets it will power phones, tablets, computers, lights and recharge batteries. The on/off switch needs to be held down for a few seconds and it will glow green if there is sufficient power to operate. Pushing the same button again turns power off. When power is diminished the same switch glows red momentarily and automatically switches off.

Great option to power laptop with Ryobi battery!!!
I'm a semi-retired I.T. technician, and I'm finding this inverter to be a nice addition to my road warrior kit. It can recharge my smartphone and laptop on the road using the car charger - and, if out of the 4x4 at a new construction site I can charge my laptop using Ryobi batteries when there's no 110v power available. (Ryobi batteries are part of my road kit - sometimes a drill or bit driver can be very handy, even for an I.T. tech. I've learned to carry my own). The Ryobi is smaller than I had expected (see photos below); I received the unit via truck, not having seen one in the local H.D. store. The car charger cord is about 3 feet long, while the Ryobi battery adapter cord is about 1 foot long. Note that the Ryobi battery is not included with this kit, but any Ryobi +1 battery will fit the battery adapter. I've not done any testing on how long different Ryobi cells take to fully charge a cell phone or will power my laptop - for me the inverter is a tool for 'just in case' usage. I recently got hung up in a location where the capability to have portable power for my laptop would have been most welcome - people have a tendency to trip over extension cords. Although the Ryobi is limited to 125 watts, that's easily enough to handle my 45 watt laptop charger. The inverter has two USB "B" type ports and one standard 3-prong cord port. One note – you need to hold down the ‘on/off’ switch for a second or two to get the inverter to run or stop running; it’s not a “click” switch. Fit and finish of the kit is very good, packs into a small bag (not included with the Ryobi) and only needs the battery to get things powered up. It's covered by a 3-year warranty by Ryobi. HTH Jim

Awesome Inverter. Great to have in home and car.
The Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt 120-Watt 12-Volt Auto Inverter was an interesting sight to behold when I opened the package, for it is a very interesting piece indeed. The unit is a dual power source unit, that is, you can use any 18 volt Ryobi battery to be the power source, or you can use the 12 volt car adapter, which would give you unlimited running time. The unit is in its typical Ryobi Yellow-Green and Black. The main unit comes with two USB A-Outlets, and one 120 volt outlet. The power button in the middle is illuminated, and it turns green when the power is on. You have to depress and hold it for a few seconds for the unit to come on. This was done to prevent any accidental activation of the unit. One thing I will say is that even in using the USB's the small unit gets warm. The unit has designed in it small legs along the sides which create a small air pocket in the middle for ventilation and cooling of the unit. This area must be kept clear, as it helps dissipate the heat. It is not recommended to use this unit on a car seat, or on a fabric surface, like a couch or a rug, etc. The 18 volt batter adapter has a descent length cord on it. The adapter just sits on top of the battery. I would have like to have had a little more snug of a fit, or some sort of locking mechanism to hold it on better, but gravity does its simple work. The car adapter has a good length cord attached to it. The cord is beefy for a reason, and it is the only cord that can and should be used. The plug receptor does have an inline fuse inside of it. The 120 watt power inverter does come with a 3 year limited warranty from Ryobi. You must register your item on their website. I like it. It does the job. Although it is a SLOW charge for phones, and the like, it gets the job done. You can't go wrong with this unit. It will recharge cell phones, iPads, computers, and can power up many small tools or appliances. It's a winner! I rate this item 5*s out of 5. Thank you Ryobi for giving me the opportunity to try your product. Thank you Home Depot Seeds for offering this item to me.

Compact 110volt Power on the Road
This is an excellent power converter for small electrical devices and appliances. We use it primarily in the car on road trips. Plug in phones, laptops and tablets. Between the wife and kids, we have multiple items running and this helps them stay running. Compact size for a 120 watt inverter. Can also run on the Ryobi 18 volt batteries. A nice add to the Ryobi 18 volt system!

Works great but wish it was all one unit
This inverter works great !! I inserted one of my 18 V batteries and I was able to charge my phone and also run a small electric fan. I plan to use this at our cabin where we do not have electricity. It will be great for charging our phones, running the laptop and/or running a fan or an electric lamp. My only disappointment (4 stars instead of 5) is that this is not an "all in one" unit like some other Ryobi inverters. I am going to have to remember to keep the the battery cable with the inverter. Not a big deal, but again, I wish it all could have been in one unit. I would recommend this unit but would prefer one of the other Ryobi inverters that are "all-in-one".

              Neat little device
Nice idea, compact and easy to use. Doesn't come with battery and charger which are required, but I have plenty already. Powers everything USB I tried, doesn't come with USB cable, but I have plenty of those too. Plugged a circuit tester into the 120V outlet and it showed open ground, well of course it did! Tried a LED bulb and that didn't work, maybe because it probably produces a square wave instead of a sine wave, but another bulb worked fine. Super handy to have around in case of emergencies for powering a light or two, or my rechargeable flashlights, or, of course a phone. Just a nice thing to have. Made in Vietnam.

              Disappointing for Ryobi
Some what disappointed for a ryobi tool. Normally I have good things to say about Ryobi tools, this one falls short in a couple of areas. The 18v cable is nice and thick which is great, however there is no mechanical retention keep the 18v adapter connected to the battery, moving the battery in relation to the inverter would pop off every now and then. Also, to turn it on you need to press and hold the on / off / reset button. This is good for very low power devices, 1amp or less and not with a motor. Motors require an inrush current that could be higher then 1 amp. Should be okay for dans and the like, the reason I got it. Ginders and things that have high in rush current may struggle with this, I have not tried it yet and don't have much hope for it.
