light tips over
If you don't clamp it to anything, the light tips over if you bend the flexible neck anywhere other than directly above the battery. Having a magnet or heavier base would make it more useful.

This is really a great item to have. It can focus a bright light like on my patented 8312598 modular handtruck as shown. The clamp makes it especially useful. This light is shining on the toolbox and no other lights were on. It’s nice not bending over for your tools or when you move a heavy box for example

    Light where you need it
As it states, "Expand your RYOBI 18V ONE+ System with the RYOBI 18V ONE+ Flexible LED Clamp Light." So, some details I like, clamp to materials up to 1-3/4 in. thick, 400/200 (high/low output) Lumens of LED light - flood mode to spot, 16 in. flexible neck and rotating base. Now I have a line of Ryobi light's, all with a use, but this one could replace many of them as an anyplace you need it light with its spot to floor adjustment. My main use is for DIY from automotive to home repairs and hanging from a ladder in a poor lighted room where headlight is the only light useable. Now we can mount this light right to the ladder where we are working, not shining up from the floor. holding a flashlight, etc... and place the flexible tip anyplace we need it. Simply great.

A Great Addition to my Tools
This Ryobi One+ Flexible LED Clamp Light is a great fit with my other Ryobi One+ tools. The light is well made and compact enough to store easily. The adjustable flood to spot function is versatile and the two power settings means you can stretch out the charge when you don’t need the brightest settings. The gooseneck seems very sturdy and adjusts easily. My current battery is from Ryobi’s high performance line. It may weigh more than some of their other styles. The battery weight is great for sitting on the floor and the light is stable. The heavier battery hanging below may affect how snug the clamp is since gravity is working against the clamp rather than in your favor. I didn’t notice a specification for how many hours of use you get from a charge. Given how long the power tools operate on a charge. I think this would also be more useful than just a work light and might be perfect for camping or emergency use.

Direct light whenever you need it.
Another great addition to the RYOBI ONE+ is the 18Volt Flexible LED Clamp Light. The light is perfect for on the job work, working on your car, or any other time you need so extra light. There are so many great features of the Flexible Light as it can either stand on a flat surface or it can be clamped on a pipe or any 2-by lumber. I clamp it on my workbench or tool box when I’m working in my shop or when working under my car or under the hood the light provides up to 400 Lumens of LED output when you have it in the flood mode. I had a picnic the other night and when I needed to BBQ at night I clipped the light onto my upper deck and with the Flexible tube I directed the light right at the grill. This allowed me to have the light at a far enough distance so that I didn’t damage the light, but still provide all the light that I needed to see. Another great feature that you will see on one of the pics which I uploaded is the lens focus. With just a light pull you can adjust the light onto a specific area as this light's 16 in. flexible neck and rotating base allows for precise placement. Since the light is flexible you can easily wrap it up nice and compact for storage. The greatest part is again the compatibility to use the 18V ONE+ battery system.

    Great Features
These snake lights are super-useful, and Ryobi did this one one better with a clamp on the base, so you can stand it up, hook it on something, or clip it off. With all that, high and low settings, a rotating turret, and a real focusable lens, this thing is complete overkill for fixing a leaky sink! But overkill is good. The neck on this light is not as flexible as some others, it will not wrap as well, but with the clamp on the base, that is not much of an issue.

    Best Flashlight Ever!
Look at this! Ryobi has re-invented the flashlight. If you're like me and have a few or more Ryobi Plus1 batteries and chargers this is the thing you need and didn't know it. It slips onto the battery and either sits on the table or you can use its clamp to fasten it to a table edge or even a pipe or conduit. The flexible shaft adjusts to shine the light exactly where you want it. It has a high and a low setting. The high is blindingly bright, the low is bright enough to read with. This is a great use for the smaller 2Ah batteries that come with many of the Plus1 tools. I've bought quite a few of the larger Ryobi batteries for my many Plus1 tools. It's such a good flashlight that I was thinking it needs a handle like a lantern. Then I realized, no need, the flexible neck works perfectly as a handle when you're walking in the dark. The lens slides in and out smoothly when adjusting the focus for either a wide or concentrated beam. This light would be great for the BBQ, for camping, night hiking, and fishing. It is useful for photography because you can make the fine adjustments to put the light exactly where you need it. And because it's cordless you can use it for photography in the field. I put it on a 2Ah battery on the high beam and it burned around 6 hours. Great gift for any Ryobi guy.

    The perfect handsfree flashlight!
A versatile work lamp that essentially works as a clampable flashlight providing light for your desired workspace. The neck is malleable yet solid with a rigid hold which will not shift once you set your desired position. The clamp will grab onto a surface with ease, I tested the clamp out on the edge of my work bench, as well as one of the knobs on the cabinet above it and the lamp had no issues holding on. The clamp has rubber padding on each side to provide grip. Portability is great with an overall small footprint, especially since you can “roll” up the neck once you are finished to minimize space. Overall light output is weaker than I expected, but this will work great for specific up-close tasks. The light can be adjusted between a flood and spotlight mode. I found the spotlight beam to be awesome at lighting up specific pinpoint locations such as in your engine bay, no longer do you have to ask your kid to hold the flashlight steady! The flood light mode provides a decent amount of light, however not as much as I had expected. Overall, the light is great and comes in handy for those projects where you’d be using a flashlight but need to free up your hands.

    I love this light!
I am so glad that I ordered this light. It is going to be so useful for me here on the farm. It will not only light up a large area, but you can adjust the beam so it spotlights a small area. Also, there are two settings of brightness. The neck of the lamp is bendable and the light can be trained on any direction. The clamp is strong and will go out wide enough to get hold of a floor joist, top board on my horse stall, or also fits snugly on smaller things, like the back of my chair. If you use one of the heavier 18 volt batteries, it can also be a free standing light with good stability. If a large animal gets a cut or injury, they are normally taken into their stall for attention. Unfortunately, stalls are not usually all that well lit. With this light, you could see well enough for doctoring a leg or any other body part. Also, if you need to work on a car at night. This would be just the light to have. One of the best cordless lights I've got for every day uses.

    Handy and Innovative
The introduction of cordless tools has made doing projects so much easier, and the Ryobi line of cordless tools offers a number of well-designed, well manufactured tools at a reasonable price. This ONE+ Cordless Flexible LED Clamp Light has a number of useful features not found in some other work lights. At 400 lumens, it's best suited to smaller work areas, but the focus feature really allows you to place the beam exactly where it's needed. The clamp opens to a full 2 inches and rubber pads give the light a good grip even on smooth surfaces, without causing scratches. The flex arm let's the operator point the light in any direction and holds it's place perfectly. Two light settings fine tune the amount of illumination needed. I'm using this light for any close work I'm doing, particularly in tight places, and it performs wonderfully. I'm very pleased with this product and highly recommend it!

Bright, 2 modes, adjustable, flood or spot light.
I will go over some features of this light and then share my experience with it. This flexible LED clamp light is powered by 18v Ryobi batteries. With the adjustable head you can use this as a flood light or spot light. The light has 2 brightness settings High and Low. The flood light on High: 400 lumens, and Low: 200 lumens. The spot light on High: 200 lumens, and Low: 100 lumens. It has a 16" flexible neck connected to a rotatable base. The clamping capacity is 1-3/4" making it perfect for finished 2x4's. I decided to give this light a try because I wanted a new light for soldering. I have realized that this light is going to be used alot more then just my intended use. I already own the ryobi clamp fan and love it. I hope they keep adding to the clamp tool collection. This light is very versatile. You can just stand it up or clip it to any 1-3/4 or smaller surface. The clamp has 2 non slip, non marring rubber grips that are great at holding the light in place. With the rotatable base and flex neck the angles and positions you can put this light in are unlimited. The flex neck is very durable and stays where you bend it. The build quality is solid. I like the fact that you can slide the head in and out to switch between flood or spot light. This light is great for a million different uses. So far I've been using as a table top lamp to light my bistro table and chairs, shed, gazebo, and my soldering area. I own alot of different lights and they all serve their own purpose. This light is probably the most versatile though. It is great for DYIers and professionals. I went up on my neighbors deck to demonstrate the flood vs. Spot light. The flood light lit up his whole yard. The spot light gave a nice focused beam. I will be adding photos of this. This light makes a great reading light, clip it to your headboard, end table, bedside table, etc...

Puts the Light Where You Need It
Wow, where have you been all my life. I saw this light and had to have one. I already have Ryobi tools so the battery and charger were not a problem because this is “TOOL ONLY”. Directions weren’t really necessary, insert charged battery press switch on light head. The light has two intensities that you get by pressing the switch once for low, twice for high and three times for off. The light also adjusts from a wide beam to a tighter spotlight by pulling or pushing on the lights lens. The light is advertised as a clamp on light and the clamp holds very well, you can set the light on the battery base but it is very top heavy and wants to fall over unless balanced out. The flexible neck allows you to direct the light where you need it. Nice light, well made at a decent price. The light also comes with a Three Year Limited Warranty and a 90 Day Exchange Policy if it quits working within 90 days. What else can you ask for?

The Ryobi Cordless Flexible LED Clamp Light, lights the way when you’re in the dark.
Recently, during a major spring snowstorm, we had a power outage early in the morning. It so happened that the day before the storm I picked up the new Ryobi Cordless LED clamp light. The power outage provided a great opportunity to try out my new Ryobi LED light. The light is powered by the Ryobi 18V ONE battery system. Any Ryobi 18-volt battery will work. I have the “Tool Only Version” of the Ryobi LED Clamp Light, and I was using a 4Ah battery. When using the 4Ah battery the light is very stable just sitting upright (see pictures). For less stable situations, the light has a 1 ¾ inch jaw clamp. This clamp has a very strong spring and will clamp on pipes, 2x4 thick lumber or many things like a cabinet doors for under the sink lighting. Once the light is clamped, it has a spot or flood light mode which is changed by pulling out or pushing in the LED head lamp. The brightness can also be adjusted in flood mode from 400 to 200 Lumens. In spot mode the light can be adjusted from 200 to 100 lumens. The adjustment is made by pushing the on/off switch repeatedly. For what it’s worth, there is a statement in the manual that says the light is intended for household use only. I don’t really know the intent behind this statement. I would think you could use the light where every you required additional light? The LED light is mounted on the end of a 16-inch-long flexible neck. It has a rotating base (with a 360 degree limit) and allows for precise placement and maneuverability of the light for hands free viewing. The description of the light says it will run for 32 hours on the lowest setting. I would guess this is when you’re using a fully charged 4Ah battery. It doesn’t say which battery gets you 32 hrs. of use. The Ryobi LED light was very handy, during our power outage. I used it for a reading light for a couple of hours. When testing the clamp, I pointed the light toward the back wall of the sink where the water shut off valves are located. I like the light and would recommend it to a friend. It simple and easy to use and will serve many purposes in the future.

Perfect for all types of projects
I have many lights in my shop and most of them are from Ryobi. The one light I didn’t have is a clamp light. The flexible light combined with the clamp just makes for a nearly perfect solution for so many lighting needs. The light is bright and I didn’t even realize it had an adjustable focus which is an added bonus. It has two light settings which should cover a variety of lighting needs. I’m going to be using this as a project light so I can have light exactly where I need it.

Flexibility + clamping ability = super useful
This is another fantastic product from RYOBI. I have a few of the other lamps from RYOBI but none with the ability to clamp on a work surface and move around with agility like this. The basic rundown is that this is a 400 lumen workhorse, with a flexible, sturdy gooseneck and a focus-Capable lamp, and 2 brightness settings. I find this super handy for projects Intake, enclosed spaces, and am currently using it on my electric go kart conversion project. It is absolutely great for getting into tight corners, where my other lamps will not fit. The head attached to the gooseneck can also rotate about 270°, which is super useful. The clamp could use a more beefy spring, but that might compromise the plastic if it’s too powerful. I found it works great clamping on almost any part of the go kart frame. Also clamps fantastically to plywood steel sheet, and any work surface or otherwise that you could possibly think of. This will be my go to lamp for all kinds of work going forward.

    Great light
I am always needing light focused at my work bench . This light is a perfect fit. No cord to hassle with and I can move it to any location because it’s battery powered. I like how you can pull out the head to make the light focus on one small area that’s a plus for me. It’s also pretty bright here I deal with a lot of small parts in my hobbie and this light allows me to move the head around because it is so flexable. Just perfect

    Handy and versatile
Very adaptable. The flexible neck is nice and long and is easy to move into any desired position. If that were not enough, the whole head rotates on the base. The on/off switch is conveniently located on the lamp head. The clamp easily fits onto most common lumber, a car part, or almost anything that is up to about 1.5 inches. The clamp is firm, but not hard to operate and has a non marring surface. The lamp can be used freestanding once a battery (not included) is installed. A super hand light source of about 400 lumens which is good for many tasks, especially task lighting. It easily adjusts between flood and spot, or in-between if desired.

Helpful flashlight but not always easy to clip
This Ryobi flashlight allows you to bend the gooseneck anyway you want and potentially put the light exactly where you want it. I say potentially because the weight of the neck makes it want to fall over or slide off the clamp attachment. Still I found a couple of areas where it worked great. Like my bandsaw that has always lacked sufficient lighting for close work. I was able to use the spring clamp on the side and clip it on to my saw, bend the neck, and shine the light right on the blade. Making the cut line easier to see. But a lot of the time you are trying to figure out how to best attach the heavy light without it falling off. The clamp is kinda like a strong clothes pin. I wish they would have made it more of a c-clamp like jaw design. The light puts out decent light…there are lots of better LED flashlights that are brighter. And again if you use a smallish battery it tips over when you try and just sit it flat. Price wise it seems fair for the long flexible neck. But still $40 (at the time of this review) plus the cost of a battery, it’s a pricey flashlight. I give it a “C” grade. This design is a first base run, not a homer.

    Versatile clamp light
Ordered the flexible LED clamp light to use in locations where I can’t plug in my corded trouble light. I really like the 16 inch flexible rotating neck that can be clamped onto anything to focus light on a given area. Also like how you can adjust the light projection from a wide area flood to a specific spot. The ability to select one of two brightness levels is also a good feature to better manage battery power. The clamp works well but could be a bit sturdier to hold the additional weight of one of the larger capacity One + batteries. Thinks it’s another useful well thought out Ryobi tool.

    Excellent auxiliary light source
I am using this in my workshop for pinpoint light sources and as an auxiliary light. Being able to focus the light is a big plus. This thing lasts for hours. I plan on using it for camping and outdoor lighting.

Very nice accessory lamp. Sits solidly on the battery and the clamp works well on equipment table tops. 1-3/4" max jaw opening and has protective rubber nonslip pads. The neck is on a swivel mount is very flexible, yet stiff enough to hold your desired position. Has high and low light settings and can be focused from flood to spot light. Ordered online and it arrived in a day or two. Highly recommended.
