Renogy solar panel charger for gate opener. Nice unit easy to hook up straight out of the box. Make sure you have direct sun most of the day if not all day. I use marine batteries I think they hold charge and have more power than regular batteries. 10 Watt and you can hook them up in sequence to even produce more power charge. Very well built and blend in good.

This review is for the Renogy 10-watt monocrystalline solar panel charger for gate opener. I have a gate opener for a gate across my driveway and already had an existing solar panel charger for the battery. I decided it would be a good idea to have a spare charger in case the existing one goes out so we won’t end up in a situation where the gate won’t open. When I opened the box, I was impressed with the appearance of the all black panel. It looks like a miniature version of my all black home solar panels. The panel also comes with a mounting bracket. To give this panel a try, I replaced my original solar panel with this one so installation was very simple. My gate is in a fairly wide open area with good southern exposure so the panel always gets enough sun. Since the installation, the gate opener has continued to work well and it appears this solar panel is doing a good job of keeping the battery charged. I have not done any tests to see how much the panel is providing so all I can tell you is that it is working.

So easy to setup and install. It just took me minutes to assemble the panel to the pipe stand it comes with. Then just as long to attach on a post next to out gate operators battery. Then attached the wires to the battery. Done. Adjust the panel so it will get as much southern sun as possible and nothing else needed. It seems to be well built, but this is my first solar panel. My main concern is how long will keep my battery charged. Only time will tell.
