Excellent water heater that regenerates quickly. Easy to install. Very happy with purchase, too.

After failing 6 months after purchase, you realize the warranty of low value. With Rheem you'll spend hours on long hold to even speak to them and they will take days to service directly. If you go through Home Depot, they discount the value and only give you store credit. So, left with a store credit for 75% of the purchase price and having to pay all labor (because Rheem would have you wait days without hot water). I won't buy another Rheem.

Installation was fairly easy. This was mostly due to replacing my existing six year warranty Rheem with a new 12 year warranty Rheem. The six year warranty Rheem lasted eight years, hoping the 12 year warranty Rheem will last 16 years. Other water heater options seem to be quite limited, not too many manufacturers in the water heater business these days. My conclusion, the Rheem is the best value for my money.

Our Rheem 50-gal water heater broke after only 2.5 years. The parts were still under warranty and we forked out the extra money for Home Depot's Protection Plan, so we thought we were covered. What a complete joke. After getting radio silence after submitting a claim, I called the number for the Protection Plan where I didn't get anywhere until I escalated it to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that there were only 2 (!) service providers within 100 miles of us (we live in the very populated SF Bay Area) and neither one of us would service us. So, we had to find our own plumber, pay upfront, and then submit a claim for reimbursement. Our plumber came next day, said he's seeing these types of water heaters break frequently, and that we likely needed the pilot assembly replaced. To expedite the fix, we called several plumbing supply warehouses and finally found one that carried the part. Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick and another part was needed. This one had to be ordered directly from Rheem and would take 2-4 days to get here. We called Rheem and pleaded with them to send it overnight as we have a packed house that hasn't had hot water in 3 days now. Rheem initially said we'd have to pay for expedited shipping to get it here sooner. Are you kidding me? We have been on the phone with Rheem, Home Depot, the 3rd party protection plan provider (Asurion) over the past 3 days and have wasted countless hours and our own money trying to get this fixed. The Protection Plan has proved to be completely useless at this point and has not offered to help with anything. We're still looking at being out of hot water for another 2 days at a minimum and who knows how long it will take for our out-of-pocket expenses to be actually reimbursed. HD should have offered to replace the entire water heater system the next day for no cost. Instead they left a family and customer pay for their protection plan, offered zero assistance, and expressed no urgency about leaving a family without hot water for a week. We will not be purchasing anything from Home Depot in the future, even if it costs us a little more to buy from a competitor.

This water heater is quiet and easy to operate.

It works great. This water heater is bigger than the one we replaced. I forgot what a hot shower was really like.

We bought it yesterday and installed it, after 24 hours the thing crapped out and stopped heating the water. I want my money back and to be reimbursed for the 50 gallons of water I have to drain out of it to replace it again, and lost wages too! This is disgraceful!

Not enough hot water for a 40 min shower even if you have the temp setting cranked all the way up. Only a small upgrade to our 17 year old Kenmore 40 gal. It does have fast recovery though

Hot water recovery seems slow, and hot water runs out with 2 people showering at same time. Water temp is near "Hot" setting to make sure that there is enough hot water. My 20 year old water heater worked better.

I didn't realize how inefficient my old water heater was until I got this one. It works GREAT!

Bought this water heater on November and since beginning of January dealing with very, very bad customer service to get me the thermostat and the whole furnace for replacement. Every time that I called the customer service I was on hold for 50 minutes to get my turn to speak with the rep. Product is bad thats why the have lots of call volume if that's make sense to you. So walk a way from this product.

Outstanding water heater! Worth the money!

Excellent water heater, very efficient, nice to have a a steady flow of hor water now. The quote I received from a plumber to come out and install the water heater was $1,100 just for the labor. I could not afford that so I watched a few U-tube tutorials and put it in myself. Easy installation about 2 hours.

Installed it. Works great. Time will tell on its longevity.

Our 40 gallon crapped out after 10 years. Went to the 50 gallon Rheem. Installation was easy once I got the parts to install it. I like the fact that it has a 12 year tank warranty.

Installed this to replace my old Rheem water heater and the pilot light would ignite then 5 minutes later a loud boom / explosion would blow out burner and pilot. It was scary and dangerous. When calling Rheem they identified the problem, but would not send anyone out to fix it. All of their service providers were "busy" and offered to only pay $175 to have someone else come take a look at it. This went on for 3 long days of no hot water, and still it is not working. So I am returning it to the store and finding a different brand. My advice: DO NOT BUY OR WORK WITH RHEEM! Good luck!

This water heater is awesome! Works great! Price is right as well! 50 gallons gives me plenty of hot water 24:7

Installation was easy, and starting was a snap. Produces great water temperature and pressure.

We had to replace our old Rheem over the weekend. The old one was about 6 years old, which was a Rheem. The Uninstall and install was easily done.because everything still matched up perfectly.
