When I picked up the water heater at HD, the box was damaged quite a bit. But the person helping me did a good inspection to ensure the water heater had no damage. Installation, setup, and lighting a fire in it were pretty straightforward. I used SharkBite plumbing fixtures so water connections were pretty simple as well.

Keeps up with a family of 4 with no issues. Easy strait forward installation like most water heaters.

Nice unit, very quite, easy to install. The only problem I had is it is very sensitive and will shut off if there are any fumes from paint of other solvents in the air. I installed it in the basement and every time I paint and wash up it shuts off. I wish it could differentiate between it's own gases and other more common less dangerous gases in the air. -JP

Great water heater! As other reviews have stated the fan is pretty loud. DO NOT pay homedepot to install this product. They quoted over the phone for $600 to install...when they got here to install they wanted another 200 for a drip pan, another 200 to run 6ft of pvc pipe and 300 to cut a hole in my house. Their installation department is a huge rip off...I ended up installing it myself...once I had someone help me get it down to my basement it went very smooth...

just had the unit installed and its running great,blower is quiet and water temp is on the mark.Great getting away from that electric beast I just shut down!!

Great product. Fan motor so much more quieter than old one. Heats well. Highly Recommended.

So far so good . The power vent outlet is placed in an odd spot so I had to re pipe my vent any way. I had ordered this model and height to avoid having to do that . So if you're ordering based on the height of your current vent don't even worry about it and buy the tall one in Stock at the store.

Unit was as expected. Quality product that I hired plumber to install. I have two units side by side. Will replace older with this unit in near future. Very pleased

This hot water heater is outstanding! I had to have a professional install it because I am not used to gas heaters but he told me that thisis excellent. I would strongly recommend this

It is a good product but it took a long time to get because they don't have them in the store but when you need something like this they should have them in places closer to each store not coming across the state that is just to long with out hot water

This is a very nice hot water heater. It recovers very quickly and the fan is much more quiet then the original which is very appreciated.

Installation was not a problem. It is quite heavy. It does not come with the pressure relief valve extension tube. Controls are simple and easy to set.

I bought this to replace a 40 gallon unit that was leaking. Richmond is made by Rheem so I know it was of high quality. The unit is shorter to fit my low ceilings and is running perfectly. The blower is a little loud, but it's in the basement and not an issue. Overall, I am very satisfied with this unit.

I wanted a unit that I could vent to the outside via PVC and found this one. Also needed a shorter model and this was the only one that worked. Special ordered and had home depot plumber install. It works great and the power vent is not too loud. Heats up fast.

I live in Wilber, Nebraska on city water. My 6 year warranty for the 50 gal. Richmond Water heater was never needed. It does appear to have a slow leak I have been able to soak up with towels. Oh, I forgot to mention, this was installed in my basement in 1999. 17 years old with no trouble up until now. The current price seems to be quite a bit higher than what I paid for it.

We haven't installed it yet because the dimensions are larger than our current 40 gallon water heater and it has a different size vent. More information in the description by Home Depot would be nice...

The purchase was a bit of a pain as not a in-stock item and we were w/o hot water for 2 weeks as we had to wait for it to be shipped from the factory...no fun, buy we now have plenty of hot water, shower after shower w/o any recharge time in-between.

So far so good! No probloems with install and a fine product it is. Also I like the new quite blower.

I would have given 5 stars but the delivery was a horrible experience. My husband ordered online bc of it being a great price. Also would be delivered curb side. NO where did it say a semi truck would deliver. Paperwork only stated a lift truck and no where did it ever state an 18 wheeler was delivering. I get a call the day before delivery which did take awhile. Waited 3 weeks for delivery. During call they state could a semi get into neighborhood. I stated no. We live in a historic district. They wanted us to meet them far down the mountain to pick up. We do not own a truck. As soon as I stated this the lady literally nutted up. Very rude and carrying on and said they would return the item. I then became very stern and said no your not. Long story short, my husband called the local Home Depot and the manager was great and had it delivered to them and then they delivered to us. So why all the drama?????? Why have curbside delivery without verifying what type of truck delivering it???? I blame Home Depot but they did fix the situation. Would never do curbside again with them bc of this.
