Its easy to use if you know what your doing with it

Cutting is easier

Purchased this to replace a more expensive model (same brand) which is not carried anymore, due to not being able to remove the old worn out blade. The salesperson at Home Depot was very helpful in trying to also remove the blades from my old unit, but he too was not successful. As I had a lot of old carpet to cut I purchased this one as pictured above and yes it works very well, but in the meantime with enough WD-40 and perseverance I was able to replace the blade in the older unit. So now I have two, but I like the older unit a bit more as it is what I was used to I suppose.

Common tool. Works fine. This is my 2nd one on 20 years. 1st one still works. I just have 2 shops now.

Did not cut as easily as expected

Nice wide handle for comfortable cutting.

WAS unable to cut any of the carpet pad and I returned the article.

Worked ok

Makes cutting cushion back carpet to the desired size a breeze. Allows one handed use, while ensuring the carpet is being pressed tightly into the space where the floor and wall meet. Only issue was that in addition to coming with 5 extra blades, my cutter had 2 blades installed in the holder. This resulted in rough initial cuts. Once I removed the extra blade, the results were excellent.

Does the job asked of it.

The cushion back carpet cutter worked well the blades that came with the cutter were very sharp and lasted longer than i thought they would.As far as design the handle felt good in my hand the shape allowed me to put as much power as i wanted to with out sacrificing control.The bottom line is ,this cutter made my task very easy! I have had this tool for about a month and used it on two different carpet projects i'm sure that i will use it many more times.

Need a more professional version like a Crain cushion back cutter

I needed to remove a carpet so I bought this to cut it up to make it easier to move. Plus I assumed that paying more for something meant it was better quality than an inexpensive razor cutting tool. It just didn't cut the carpet and was awkward to use. Then I bought a cheap cutting tool and that ripped it up very easily. Don't buy this tool to tear apart a carpet.

This cutter worked Great. It would be good for an experienced and novice carpet layer. With a Good supply of extra blades and STURDY construction, this tool should last a long time.

I've used this model Roberts for the last 6 years can't beat it. The only lyrics reason I bought a new one was for new workers. No complaints at all. I love to work with good products.

easy to figure out however when blade was extened out for deeper carpet blade tended to walk.

cuts straight lines easily and doesn't require a lot of force to use.

Utilized this cutter to help trim existing carpets down to manageable pieces to remove and dispose of prior to new carpeting. It worked great. Did jamb up a bit between the double blades but these are very old carpets. Better than expected.

This is the first time I have laid carpet and I read that this cutter was the tool for the job. It was! It was easy to use, superior at cutting and made laying the carpet very easy. I totally recommend this tool.
