Great kit for inexpensive update to a floor!
Had a small bathroom floor didnt want to rip up but had cracks and looked dated so just got the kit in white, wanted simple since floor was originally just white. Followed the kit directions and wow!

    Amazing transformation
I was wanting to redo a tile floor because it was many tiles were badly cracked. I did research and decided to use this system. First I repaired all the cracked and divots in the tile by using a tile grout caulk. Then I used Kris Kutter to clean the floor. Base coat the. Stencil then top coat three times. Beautiful now.

      Not sure what to think
We painted a week ago. Product looked great, then my husband went into the bathroom today to start painting the walls and found this. Wet spots near the wall and the paint looks discolored. We haven’t used the bathroom for a whole week and there appears to no leaks. It’s like the moisture is coming up from under the paint.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. If the surface was exposed to moisture early in the drying process, it can cause hazing with Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating. We want to gather more details to get to the bottom of this and try to make things right with you. Please give us a call at 888-683-5667 to talk with us.

        Not great
We’ve had the floor paint on for about 1.5 years now. It looked great at first, but it does NOT hold up. If you use this in a room that you never use this would be a good option. I would NOT recommend using this in an area that gets a lot of traffic. I painted the tile coming in from our garage and out to our back door. This is what it looks like after 1.5 yrs, stains that won’t come off, scratching etc. we live somewhere that snows, but always put a towel down for wet boots.

Oh no, not something we like to hear. Areas coated with Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating System that are exposed to heavy foot traffic or repeated abrasion may require occasional repairs or recoating. In this case, clean the floor first with mild soap and water, or a cleaner degreaser such as Krud Kutter Cleaner Degreaser, and let dry. Then apply the Rust-Oleum Home Base Coat to any necessary areas. Wait 6 hours and then apply the Rust-Oleum Home Top Coat. For additional protection, a second coat of the Clear Top Coat is recommended.

          Looks great
Redid laundry room, didn’t feel like ripping up linoleum so this was my compromise. I only did one base coat and you can see some lighter areas in the pics, but I also knew my washer and dryer would cover those areas. I have not put my appliances back (takes 7 days to cure) but will add the felt sliders to the bottom before I do.

            AMAZING RESULTS!
Instead of replacing my outdated ceramic tile, I decided to paint it. I made stencils (with my Cricut) and painted them with this kit! I was totally impressed with the results!!!

              Floor looks great!
So far…great. I love the color. It went on easy, a little trickier with the top coat, but I could see where I missed once it dried because I chose the semi-gloss top coat. Time will tell how it wears.

              Great product
What a transformation! This stuff could not have been easier to use. I did end up needing to go buy a second can of the base coat as I needed 2 coats. But only one coat of the matte finish and it looks beautiful! So far is holding up well. I used the charcoal gray color. Couldn’t be happier!

                Not worth the hassel
I followed the instructions to the exact, even waited 7 days for it to cure to move the furniture back. Here are the before and sfter results. Floor will still scratch, mind you i did 2 coats of the base and 2 coats of the top coat.

                  This product ruined my tile
I did everything according to the instructions and over a year later my tile looks hideous. Places where the paint scratched off, I sanded and painted over again and it made a discolored dark spot that is permanent. If I had known this paint would not last for more than 6 mo., I would’ve never painted 1,000sq feet of tile. Do not use this product on any tile!! It’s a tedious process that is a massive waste of time because it doesn’t adhere, it stains and it’s irreversible.

                    Not worth it for wood
I wish we hadn’t spent the money on this product. If you’re painting wood floors go for porch paint instead. Not only did a lot of spots show through and we had to do two coats but it’s peeling up in areas just from normal items being left on the floor. Not durable and bad coverage.

We want to try to help, Sam! When applying Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating to a more porous surface, like bare wood, an additional coat may be needed for full coverage. It is also essential that the surface is thoroughly cleaned and allowed to dry prior to application. If needing further assistance, please give us a call at 888-683-5667 to talk with us.

This product has bought at least a few more years...
This product has bought at least a few more years for our bathroom. We had small white tile with very dirty grout that could never be cleaned enough. I wanted to paint it over white but read reviews that the white still showed every hair and dirt so we went for the seafoam green with matte topcoat. The cleaning prep process was the hardest part especially since we had some sloppy grout and caulk to scrape off, but painting was very easy. I did one coat of base and two coats of topcoat. In the first week after, I was concerned because water spills were showing temporary discolorization but after another week it seemed to have sealed more and that problem is gone. There were some chips mostly from the tape removal but I touched those up and now after a few weeks there hasn’t been any more damage. I am happy with the matte coat for this as it looks more like the texture of tile. It’s been far easier to clean and conceals more of the dirt of daily use than before so our mission was accomplished! What I wish I did differently: 1. Two coats of base since there are some fainter areas. 2. Removed painters tape before the base coat was totally set because it took some chunks off when I waited until after the top coat was set.

                      Great value, discolors when wet
Used this product over the linoleum in our kitchen. Overall very happy, especially considering the price point. A few things I learned: 1) Once dry, the top coat discolors when it is wet. It’s unsightly but goes back to normal within 15-30min. 2) I used Blue painters tape for both base & top coat. The top coat does not pull up with a clean edge. The next time I do this, I will tape the base coat & remove prior to the top coat.

Totally transformed my 80s bathroom floor
Easy to apply both steps and the result is amazing. Note: if using painters tape to guard floorboards, use the GREEN FROG TAPE!!! Not the blue. Also, still be careful when applying both coats against the taped edge. When removing tape it takes a bit of technique to peel off if that edge is super thick or if the tape rips. I might try using a blade to cut that edge before pulling the tape slowly- and very deliberately. Overall, this saved us an expensive remodel before our son’s wedding.

                          Love it!
used less than a gallon for my whole kitchen. I used “pearl gray “ color. Went down like butter. Took me maybe two hours tops. I did the edges first. Then filled in the rest using the roller on a stick. It went into the grout very easily. Just waiting for it to dry and I’ll put on the Matt clearcoat. The reviews I read said the semi gloss is too shiny. All in all , I am very pleased!

                            Amazing product and SO easy!
This is my third project with this product and it is the easiest transformation I have ever done. Easy to apply, and the durability has been great. I did my front bathroom countertops, shower and bathroom floor as well as my kitchen floor. I’m obsessed and I tell everybody about it. The colors tend to run much lighter than the sample chart and do lean towards the gray tones. The sandstone was very gray and I repainted using Cake batter because I wanted more tan. Perfect! I also stenciled my kitchen floor with the solid white and it came out perfect.

                            Highly Recommend
Although it says that it is not for shower tiles I tried it anyway; completely happy with the results. I used this on the upper part of my Powder Room Bathroom Shower and since it isn't used very often I thought it was worth trying out. I followed all instructions, was easy to do and so satisfied with how it turned out. The tile was originally brown-ish so it did take me 2 coats & on some tiles I actually used 3 coats (I think I wasn't putting enough paint on to begin with). I actually purchased this to do in my main bathroom on the floor and just haven't gotten to it yet. I would highly recommend this product as it was very easy to use and I got the results I was looking for.

4 layers of white w/ 2 top coats didn’t work
I painted 1000sq ft of tile with white & 3-4 layers. I wish I knew it may possibly stain. It ended up taking me 4 days to do the white to cover up the old tile, then do about 2-3 coats with the matte top coat. The matte top coat was very weird with pieces floating around it & no matter how much we stirred or shook it was never fully mixed. At first it looked great but a few weeks later it’s all stained and marks everywhere :( So disappointed.

                                Happy Customer
We had a green ceramic tile in my foyer which did not go with my decor so I wanted to cover my floor with something late until we were ready to update the floors. Rest oleum Home floor coating work for me as it was a temporary fix. Although I wasn’t sure if I was going to be happy painting the floor white, so I started in a small area which was the guest bathroom and needless to say, I’m happy with the results. I prep the floor tile cleaner called Krud something I forgot the name. Then I applied the first step, came back after six hours and apply second step the top coat. It was the second step, the semi gloss clearcoat and then made all the difference for me. I use ultra white to match the white trim in my home and so far, I’m loving it, I only wish I had a done it sooner. The only thing I didn’t like was it didn’t come in the gallon size or the store didn’t carry it in the gallon. I saw the gallon size on Pinterest. I could only purchase the kit, so now I have extra because the step 1 is sold separately but not the step 2 semi gloss coating isn’t sold separately from the kit. It’s been about a month now and I have no regrets so I definitely would recommend this product.

Thank you for reaching out, Beverly. While the Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating System can be used on tile floors, we do not recommend it for use in showers due to the constant exposure to water and high humidity. This product also does not contain mold or rust inhibitors.

Tan tile to this! Three colors ultra white, sea foam and owl grey created this masterpiece along with a stencil. Matte top coat. Tip for stencils- less is more with your paint. Offload your paint brush or the paint with bleed under the stencil!

I used the Vanilla Milkshake color, I figured it would be a neutral color. Next to white, it does have a light grey look to it. I expected that after reading other reviews where people mentioned a grey undertone in some of their colors too. Other times, depending on the light it looks like a cream color. One coat of base and one of the top coat covered the olive green tile. I would definitely recommend doing this.
