Oh no, this is not what we like to hear! When using Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow In The Dark Paint, be sure to apply it over a white or light colored surface. After vigorously shaking for at least one minute once the mixing ball begins to rattle, hold the can 10-16” from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply 2 or more coats a few minutes apart for the best coverage and effect. Make sure to charge the painted surface in natural or artificial light for 2–3 hours for maximum glow. Following this should result in an excellent glow that lasts 4–8 hours.

I guess I had my hopes up. For the money its really not what I expected. I mean its ok but its not mind-blowing. For people who have eyesite problems its harda to see on a surface and really didnt wow me. But i bought for an idea. So back to the drawing board to figure out how to execute.

Thank you for reaching out, Heather! For best results, Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow in the Dark Spray Paint is recommended to be applied over a white or light colored surface. It is highly recommended to prime the object with a white primer, such as Ultra Cover 2X White primer. The darker the object is, the less likely the object will glow in the dark. The product needs to dry completely and charge under direct light for 2–3 hours for maximum glow. The painted object can be charged in natural or artificial light. The closer, more direct, and more consistent the strength of the light is, the better the object will glow. Any shadows, blockage of light, or inconsistency of light during charging (i.e. gradual sunset) will affect the objects' ability to glow. The object can glow up to 8 hours under ideal conditions. Please note that the glow will continue to fade over time and will not be as strong as it was immediately after charging.

We appreciate you sharing your experinece. Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow in the Dark Spray Paint will have a slight green tone, both while it is glowing and in direct light. We also recommend applying this over a white or light color surface. The product needs to dry completely and charge under direct light for 2-3 hours for maximum glow. The painted object can be charged in natural or artificial light. The closer, more direct, and more consistent the strength of the light is, the better the object will glow. It Really Works
It worked very well. You get 10 oz for the price of the "halloween store" 4 oz paint and the nozzle didn't clog. I put 3 coats on about 50 plastic spiders and they all lit up under my 4 foot black light and then glowed when the light was shut off.

Very dim glowing even after a full day of sunlight exposure. Any ambient light will drown out the glow. Also, not much paint per can, in my opinion. Only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the cans functioned appropriately.

Let's see what we can figure out, Melissa. For best results using Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow In The Dark Spray Paint, apply over a white or light colored surface. Be sure to shake the can for at least one minute once the mixing ball begins to rattle, this ensures all the pigment is well dispersed inside the can. Then apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart until the desired coverage has been achieved. This process typically results in an excellent luminous effect in the dark. Not good.
I purchased two cans after reading the reviews. I also purchased white flat paint as instructed. I applied the white paint first, let it dry and followed up with the glow in the dark paint. I used both cans. Left it outside to dry in the sun.. my items were in the sun for about 4 hours. As soon as it got dark, nothing was glowing. After reading the reviews it appears folks are using black lights. Now, the whole point of this paint is to glow in the dark... save your money.
