We live in an area that has several power outages a year, or so it seems. The Simply Conserve 60-Watt Equivalent A21 Battery Backup with Hook LED Light Bulb Warm White (4-Pack) is a great item to have on hand. When in your lamp it is a 7W LED bulb, 60W equivalent. When the power goes out, you screw on the little hook which is attached to, basically, an on and off switch. Now you have a little hanging bulb that is battery operated. When the bulb is in your lamp, it is actually charging it's battery every time you turn your lamp on. This is sheer genius! It lasts 3.5 hours. Then, if your power is back on, put it back in the lamp after removing the hook/switch. The Simply Conserve 60-Watt Equivalent A21 Battery Backup with Hook LED Light Bulb Warm White (4-Pack), if nothing else, this "portable bulb/flashlight" gives you a light to take you to where you keep your battery lanterns or other storm gear you may have. I absolutely recommend the Simply Conserve 60-Watt Equivalent A21 Battery Backup with Hook LED Light Bulb Warm White (4-Pack).

I got these LED lamps with integrated battery backup to use in the ceiling fixtures in my hallway. I figured that when I lose power at night, the hallway would be a convenient area to have *emergency* lighting. Unfortunately, these A21 lamps are longer than the more common A19 bulb and they won’t fit in my overhead fixtures. Furthermore, I discovered from the package labeling that the lamps are “not for use in completely enclosed fixtures” although the instructions included with the lamp state that it can be used in ceiling fixtures, provided I suppose that they are not completely enclosed. So instead, I’m using them in table lamps where the additional length isn’t an issue and the lamps are unenclosed. · The product page on the Home Depot website states that the bulb temperature is “warm white” even though the instructions erroneously state that the color temperature is “bright white.” The warm white appearance (2700K color temperature) is best for living rooms and bedrooms. · Bulbs were made in China.

You don't have to be a tech geek to love this. In my opinion, a terrific invention and a testament to human ingenuity. Light bulb and a flashlight all rolled into one. Energy efficient LED technology keeps money in your pocketbook and it comes with detachable hook for easy transport and mobility for emergency situations. Simple to use and battery recharge is super easy peasy. Give or take 3.5 hrs of standalone battery back up power with full charge. Happy with my choice and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The new Simply Conserve 60-watt LED Light Bulb with a built-in battery backup is a really a “Bright” idea. When the thunderstorms roll through at night and cause a power outage, you won’t have to sit in the dark for 3 ½ hours since your light will be working on battery power. Each bulb also comes with a switch that can be screwed on the end of the bulb, so the bulb can be turned into a flashlight you can hold in your hand. The switch also has a small hook so the bulb can be hung up where it is handy and you won’t need to hold it (please see pictures). I created my own power outage in the living room using a power strip and its power rocker switch to turn on and off our light. When I turned the power strip off, the light went out and then came back on with the built-in battery power. I noticed that it was slightly dimmer on battery power. One thing I discovered is that if you are using a remote control in the power circuit to turn the light on and off with a handheld remote control, this scheme seems to defeat the control logic to turn on the light with the battery. I don’t see this as a big deal. I plan to just remove the remote-control device if a power outage occurs and reinstall it after my 3 ½ hours of battery powered lighting. This a great new bulb for a light fixture or as a temporary flashlight. I would recommend it for use.

The concept about this light is very promising, but in actuality it doesn’t work as described. The LED light worked very well when plugged into a working lamp. According to the description on the box, “When the power goes out, the bulb stays on by operating in back- up battery mode.” However, when I tested it out with a lamp plugged into an outlet controlled by a wall switch and shut the power off at the wall the light did no stay on, nor did it come on when I turned the lamp off the back on. But, when you physically remove the bulb from the lamp, screw into the clip base and push a button it did come on. And the light it gives off is bright. I think you could do just as well with a plug in rechargeable flashlight.

when you first look at it, it looks like a regular LED lightbulb. But that is not the case. This bulb has a battery backup. You can use it as a regular lightbulb that has 600 lumens output and a 2700 bright white color that is supposed to last up to 15000 hours. And if the power goes out it will turn on with the backup battery. It even includes a hook so you can hang it or you can use it as a flashlight. I live in Florida, and this is perfect to own especially during hurricane season.

This 60 watt equivalent led battery backup bulb doesn’t work as I was thinking. While it will operate as a lamp bulb on power it doesn’t come on when power goes out. You have to remove the bulb from the light fixture and either attach included screw on switch or touch the metal base with a damp cloth to activate the battery backup. It does give a nice amount of light on battery and the convenient hook allows indoor or outdoor operation and applications. Basically it’s a chargeable light source that can be placed anywhere. There is nothing in the paper work to say how long it takes to fully charge. So if you’re expecting a battery backup bulb that kicks on when the power goes out this is not it.

It works! I’m glad to have tested it, knowing I can use it if the power goes out!

EVERY TIME YOU TURNED THE SWITCH OFF IT WOULD GO ON you cut power when it goes off so... Your thinking of Back up Generators the restoring power when the whole house is powerless.. Now Can Anyone tell me how long the Batter last???

they do NOT come on when the power goes out, you HAVE to get the adapter and click that switch and walk around like you have a flashlight with a bulb? I WANTED IT TO AUTOMATICALLY come ON when the power goes out. this is NOT set up to do this, HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND and recommend you just get a flashlight.
