I bought this particular dispenser because the dispensing guns I had did not fit the Simpson Strong-Tie Set-XP cartridge. I didn’t have time to shop around. I needed something right away that I knew would work. Nothing about this gun is special other than the assurance it fits Simpson’s cartridges. The dispenser is built solidly enough. The handle/grip mechanism is die cast, as it is in many dispensers. The rest of the parts are similar to my existing inventory of guns. Is there anything about this dispenser worth $45? Absolutely not! It is way overpriced. Had I had the time I would have searched to find another product that was compatible with Simpson’s cartridges.

This worked very well with the adhesive for the heavy brass to brick wall hangings.

This thing is a piece of junk! Very cheaply made and barely held on for the 20 tubes we had to use for one activity. We through it away at the end. Frustrating that the epoxy tubes won't fit a regular caulking gun. The flat piece that pushes the epoxy is not strong enough and bends - pushing the tube crooked which makes applies pressure on the epoxy making it explode out the back. Such a mess. That being said, it got the job done - barely. Not sure what other options are even out there for an applicator.

Better than your typical caulk gun

This tale begins: “My trusty caulking gun ought to take care of the SET-3G and SET-XP epoxy.”, I thought. I was wrong. Very wrong and it cost me a tube of Simpson Strong-Tie SET-3G epoxy. My caulking gun was woefully under powered and broke while trying to dispense the epoxy. So much for that. I bought a replacement SET-3G tube of adhesive AND the CDT10S dispensing gun. This dispensing gun is very heavy duty and it dispensed that tube (and many other tubes of SET-3G and SET-XP epoxy) without issue. Get this dispensing gun and do not repeat my mistake of thinking your caulking gun can do it. That caulking gun will fail and you'll have a tube of partially dispensed epoxy and your job delayed.

This gun is even better than I expected. Easy to use and the mechanical advantage in the design allows you to create a very strong push force on the tube.

Simpson forces you to buy this gun to use their epoxy, because the tubes of Simpson epoxy are slightly longer than a standard calling tube, what a scam! But if you need a calking gun this one is well made.

Very good quality, materials. Worked very well. This is for one single cartridge and can be also used for all sorts of other tubes of materials, caulking, sealant, epoxy, adhesives, etc.

I installed a new windshield in my Camaro and the urethane glue required a 26:1 ratio gun. This caulk gun worked like a champ. Cost was half of what the competitions prices were for the same gun. I shopped multiple websites of automotive tools and found this one at Home Depot. Highly recommend this tool, as it is sturdy.

This tool is light weight and very easy to use. The design makes it easy to squeeze and is less tiring than standard dispensers. I would recommend this tool for any application not just epoxy stud adhesives..
