Great machine. It is the perfect size and can handle whatever I throw at it. The set-up instructions were difficult to follow, however, with only pictures and no written words.

Bought this about a year ago. The biggest problem I have with this machine is with the bobbin. It is dreadful to use, from filling it with thread to trying to get it threaded in the machine. If I'm not careful when opening the bobbin door, several small parts will fall out and I have to waste time trying to figure out where all the pieces go. When I try to fill it with thread, the thread wants to wind around the bobbin post and I end up with a big mess and a lot of wasted thread and time. I had my last sewing machine (a Singer) for over 40 years and the bobbin was so easy to use! But when it finally broke down I decided to get a new one rather than get the old one repaired. Big mistake! Also, this new machine did not come with an instruction book for some reason so I have been using tutorials on YouTube. That would be ok except for having to rewind over and over (I know I can order one and I plan to do so). Once the bobbin is finally seated an threaded, the machine sews like a dream. That is the only reason I gave it 3 stars, otherwise it would have been 1 star. Because of the issue with the bobbin, I would not recommend this machine. I hope you will fix this problem with your newer models.

Basic machine does the work. Difficult to remove thread once stuck

I have been sewing almost 20 years. I bought this machine about 3 years ago because I wanted to sew together some small things and it works great for just that. I recently decided it was time to try my hand at quilting and this machine is doing a terrible job. Unless you physically hold the threads and crank the wheel for the first few stitches it jams every time without fail. Even after adjusting, re threading, trying different fabric and thread it still is sewing unevenly and I am frequently having to rip stitches and re sew patches even after a complete break down, removing any thread or fluff and re oiling the machine and replacing the needle. I am hoping to buy a better machine in the near future that is better equipped to handle more complex projects but for now this will do... if you dont plan to use a machine frequently or are just planning to maybe patch a few things this machine should do fine enough, but be sure to download the full manual and know how to adjust everything and do tests before you attempt what you are planning to put together. And be prepared to handle if the machine jams (because it will happen A LOT!!!)

I've been sewing for more than 50 years but at this point in my life wanted a simple cheap machine. This machine is cheap but by no means simple. The manual is useless. Spent an hour one day trying to get the "removable extension table/accessory box" open. Finally called for help. The table FINALLY became unhinged and the customer service rep suggested putting vaseline on it so it wouldn't stick! Decided to leave the table off while I tried to thread the machine, but had no success in pulling up the bobbin thread. Thought about calling for more help but then decided the machine was way to complicated, and if I had to struggle removing the extension table every time I changed the bobbin, I really didn't want the machine. Unfortunately, by this time I had kept the machine for more than one month so (according to the website) it's not returnable after 30 days. Always thought Singer was a great brand, but not anymore. Very disappointed!!

My granddaughter received this machine as a gift and I had to figure out how to get it started sewing for her. The bobbin was a disaster. It is NOT meant for a beginner. When the bobbin was finally in and working the tension was the issue. With only directions for threading the machine that came with the machine, fixing the tension was finally solved after an hour of YouTube videos. That is not reasonable for a a nine year old even if she is very smart and patient like my granddaughter. A manual should have been included and a better bobbin design.

I needed a basic machine to hem pants and do minor sewing. But there is basic and there is chintzy. From bobbin-winding and loading to it’s not being able to handle denim (broke 3 needles trying to hem jeans) this is truly a case of you get what you pay for. Spend an extra 50-100 for a working model

Bought this for my grand daughter who is 10 and was easy for her to use and light enough for her to carry. She loves it and now has a new hobby, sewing.

Singer sewing machines have always been great from the very onset with the treadle sewing machine I started with and still have, including the 6 stitch Singer I'm currently using.

I used this for about an hour before it would constantly freeze up and the thread would break. Very disappointed and not worth the price at all.

I just received this as a birthday gift and couldn't wait to start sewing again. After just 5 stitches it has froze up. I tried re doing the thread and the bobbin. But it still is locked up. I can't even turn the wheel by hand to thread the bobbin up. I have no idea what to do and can't returnit since it was shipped to me as a gift. Please help.

The bobbin is difficult to use and has horrible tendencies when sewing cloth even though the tension has been adjusted many different times to fit the material. The thread continually comes out of the needle and the bobbin knots and tares the fabric, even after trying many different solutions according to the manual and other things. Never have I had such a troublesome product and wish honestly to change back to a Brother machine.

I sew baby blankets, baby items, aprons, welding caps. The machine is so easy to thread and the 'needle threader' is just the best. All the different stitches are so easy to use. I love my machine!!!

First time utilizing it and love it. I wish that I could find an extension table for it because I don't possess a sewing table.

Just as the reviews said, “A great basic machine”. I went with the reviews, @ under $80, how could you go wrong! H.D. Price very competitive. Some places ask close to$100! My 12 year old granddaughter just loves it!
