I really love these Plastic Whiskey Barrels. I have purchased several over the past couple of years and they work very well. I made a 2 tier barrel arrangement with ever-bearing Strawberries in both a smaller barrel on legs above the larger barrel. I just drilled a few drainage holes in each and used potting soil.

I purchased this whiskey barrel for my carnivorous plants. Highly recommend this product.

Durable and the perfect size for the fall flowers I planted in it. It does not look like plastic to me.

Excellent outdoor planter. Colors are vibrant enough, nice detail. Plastic seems well made. Seems as though it will hold up long term.

So far I'm happy with this planter. I like the look of it and it still holds it's shape even after filling it with dirt. With it's size it can be used with many different sized plants or small trees. It took about 2 bags of soil to fill it, about 2 cu. ft. The only recommendation I have would be to drill a couple of holes in the bottom to allow excess water to run out. Other than that plant away, it can hold garden vegetables, small trees, or any variety of flowers or decorative plants.

This planter is the perfect size for plants that can be planted in containers. Some plants don't do well in my soil, so I do a lot of container planting. This is a great addition to my yard. The depth allows for enough soil. I ended up drilling some holes in the bottom for drainage. Because it's resin, that was easy to do. After filling with dirt, it's very sturdy and hasn't budged, even after a couple of heavy wind storms. I will be purchasing more of these to use throughout my yard.

Very nice Southern Patio Kentucky Walnut Medium Brown High-Density Resin Whiskey Barrel Planter. I now wish I had gotten the other colors. Very well made. I like that this is Weather resistant to prevent warping, splitting and cracking, UV resilience prevents color fading and discoloration and Lightweight. Also has a drain hole, removeable plug. Holds up to 16 qt. of potting soil. I planted 3 Hosta plants in it. Looks great. Love it.

It was perfect for a larger plant that I needed to repot, and I feel that this planter will last a while through the elements. There is a center drain plug you can easily remove, but you will need to drill some extra holes if you need additional drainage. The planter is advertised as being fade resistant. I was able to fit a 12” drain pan underneath. I was pleased with my selection.

This is a well made planter/fountain base. The color combination goes well with any color house or outdoor patio or deck space. The funny thing about this product is the origin marking on the bottom. It reads " designed in the USA made in China "! I don't know anyone who cares where a product is designed they just want or care where the product is made. It's got good size for larger plants and if you use it as a fountain it will accommodate some small aquatic plants.

The high density resin wine barrel is light weight and the opening at the top is 20.5 inches and it is 14.5 inches tall. There is a plastic plug in the bottom that can be remove for drainage with a push from the top but the one I received was so tight that I had to drill it out but no big deal. I added crushed stone to make it easier to drain then my wife added potting soil and two plants. The best thing is that it will never rot and will last a long time.

Review for Southern Patio Kentucky Walnut Barrel Planter - This a good looking, solid, functional planter. Resin construction will last far longer than wood providing a planter that will last for years. The rustic design with walnut color will fit well into most outdoor areas. One feature I found found helpful is the removable drainage plug. There is no need to drill a drain hole in the bottom, as it it is made into the planter. A solid plastic plug securely seals the hole until you remove it - which is done by simply popping it out. Made in China

This planter is ideal for dwarf trees or whatever else a person decides to plant in it. It looks beautiful. It is light, yet sturdy. We planted a dwarf fir tree in ours. There are no drainage holes. With trees, you have to make sure there is drainage, so I drilled a few drainage holes in the bottom before planting the trees. That took less than a minute. In just a couple of minutes, we had the tree planted and watered.

I have several of these planters and they are used in my garden. This one is large and can easily hold peppers, herbs, onions, and garlic. I usually do not plant squash, beans, or peas in them as they need more room to run. The bottom has a drainage hole and a ridge around the perimeter to allow from drainage. In the last picture, I placed a garden tool inside so you could get an estimate of the painters size.

I have a few of these and they are great. I have them in the garden and they are large enough to grow my herbs, Asparagus, sunflowers, and peppers. I did not, however, plant egg plant, squash, or corn in it as these plants need more room. There is a drainage hole in the bottom and the bottom is also ridged to allow for drainage. In my last picture, I placed a garden tool inside so you could estimate the size of the planter.

My wife likes the look of it and it can handle large plants or small trees. This brown resin Whiskey Barrel Planter looks great and is a nice large size. The outdoor planter is great for large plants. But you can use inside the house as well. And plastic is weather-resistant. It has UV protectors that provide crack and fade resistance.

This is a great planter. I had a aloe vera plant that needed a larger container. I thought this whiskey barrel planter would be perfect! The size is really large. The material is good and sturdy. The colors are crisp and look like a real whiskey barrel. It is pretty heavy once filled with soil. However light when empty. I imagine there could be a lot of other uses for this planter. It would be cute for a impromptu beverage container for a backyard barbeque. I would recommend this!

We like that it is made of high density resin, which makes it strong but light weight and the color does not fade outdoors. The wood-look design and color look authentic. This light weight high density resin light grey pot has room for all my spring, summer and fall blooming flowers. I dumped and entire two cubic foot bag of soil into the pot then I will dig out what I need to to plant all the flowers and bulbs. i put this on a plant caddy so i can move it around the deck so it will get the sun it needs as the seasons change.

I love to plant in large pots tomatoes do much better in a dark pot the soil stays warmer so they grow quicker and produce more. The pot is lightweight weighing less than five pounds much easier to move when full of soil. This has a knock out on the bottom in the middle so you don't even need a drill. made with high density resin it should lass many seasons I dumped and entire two cubic foot bag of potting soil in it I will be removing some of it when I plant but it's a good estimate on how much soil you need

This is a large capacity faux walnut brown wine barrel. The plug for water drainage is removable or stationary depending on what is planted and where. This planter Dan be used inside or outside. I put 2 cubic feet of organic soil in it and it fit perfectly. It is light weight and easy to maneuver. I am getting it ready for sweet meat squash seeds and have limited garden space that is fenced in. So, it is between an arbor trellis for berries in a fenced area to keep the deer out. This is a great sized planter box for those of us that plant in raised beds with limited space. I am very pleased with this wine barrel planter.

Very beautiful and of excellent quality, recommended for small fruit trees or decorative shrubs.

The pots were well boxed. The bottom of the pots had pre-marked places to drill for drainage holes.

I have bought these several times in the past, but this purchase was specific to making a small pond. The larger pond was getting a makeover and the fish needed a temporary new home. These are one of the few containers that seem to actually come with a drain plug--which I siliconed into place. It's working fine for my purpose right now, holding an estimated 18 or 19 gallons by quick field math. Fish seem quite happy, and they haven't died from any weird chemical leaching (yet).
