Super easy installation and great quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Swann 4 camera DVD security system is super easy to install and has lots of great features and can be expanded to 8 cameras. For the installation I simply followed the instructions step by step and all of the cameras worked first off. The kit includes 4 60' camera cables which should reach most places. I used the VGA port on the 1TB 1080P DVR to plug into my computer monitor and it works very well. The DVR includes a mouse for easy setup and control. You can also use the Swann app on your smartphone or Google Assistant or Alexa The weatherproof cameras feature heat sensitive motion sensors as well as sensor warning lights to warn anybody approaching. The DVR is supposed to provide up to 6 months of free recording which should be more than adequate for most people.

    Clear and bright picture quality
    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Swann 4 camera 8 channel security system is very easy to install with lots of great features. You can expand it to 8 cameras as well, but for now I will be using 4. The installation went without any problems. I just followed the instructions step by step and all of the cameras worked first off. I plugged the VGA computer monitor port into the huge 1TB DVR and the 1080P picture quality is great. The camera cords are each 60ft long so it should reach most places. The cameras feature "True Detect" which detects heat and motion as well as senor warning lights for when somebody approaches. The DVR comes with a mouse for easy setup and control. You can also use the Swann app on your smartphone or use Google assistant or Alexa for hands free control. This system works great and is so simple to use. I was concerned it would be a huge headache, but it wasn't.

      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not sure where to begin, I'm impressed by everything with this system. It literally came with everything you need to get started, including long wire. It only took a few minutes to setup first couple cameras. The clarity of the cameras is so clear it is like your actually there. This system comes with 4 cameras but you can add on all the way up to 8. There is an app. You can download that will alert you every time it picks up movement. These cameras also have a motion light and alarm setting which is great for nighttime and when your away. You can play back video with a few clicks. This doesnt take up much space and gives you 24 hour surveillance to keep you and your property safe. These even came with stickers. I'm very impressed with this system and excited to put it to use.

It is not fully installed at the exact spots we will place all the cameras but sure thing it works perfectly (see the picture). It looks like a great quality product that we can strongly recommend. The app works great too.

          Total junk! Picks what days it wants to record and how much. Sometimes at midnight till 7 pm. Other times from 5am to 7am then nothing till the next day. Glad I didn’t run the cables yet. Just tested for a week. Returned!

          What you’ve described sounds quite unusual, have you double checked the recording schedules on the DVR menu, and the Modes section of the app? What you’ve described sounds more like a scheduling issue than a hardware fault. -SD, Swann Team Swann
            I'm Very Happy With My Swann System
            Someone tried to steal my car last month, so I decided to buy this surveillance system. It's been pretty easy to set up. I haven't put up all the cameras yet, but the ones that are up are functioning well. I work in security, and this system is very similar to the one at my work, so I'm pretty happy about that. It felt very familiar the moment I started using it. Unfortunately, I've been having problems with the Android app. I have to open it about a dozen times before it actually connects, although it might be user error. There are a couple things I still want to try. The iPad app works flawlessly though, so if I can't get the Android app to work, I may just switch to an iPhone since I've been considering getting one anyway. One feature I'd like too see in the app is an audible alarm for specific cameras that's loud enough to wake me up. The person that tried to steal my car did so while I was asleep, and my garage is a separate building. But I've already added door sensors and motion sensors in my garage that are connected to a very loud alarm that's right next to my bed, so I found a simple workaround. The thing I like most about this surveillance system is that insects don't trigger the camera motion detection very often, if at all. I have cameras from another company where insects set off the motion detection about every 5 seconds making the motion detection pretty useless. What's also nice about the cameras is that I don't see as many shady people around my house as I used to. I've already had reason to email photos to the police of people behaving very suspiciously on my property thanks to this surveillance system. Anyway, I'm just glad I bought this surveillance system, because it's protecting me and giving me peace of mind :-)

            Security is paramount
            It seems that the digital camera is susceptible to deactivation via infrared red light assaults (law enforcement drones). I switched from the analogs, to prevent such problem but it looks like the digital is now also subject to deactivation.☹️ I am very serious! - 4 cameras lost in 4 weeks. Any input welcome - Hope that’s helpful.

            Do not buy from this company. Bad CS support. Some cams pick up every car driving by but not pulling in the driveway. Others won’t pick up the dog or myself in the backyard but wiil when it snows Cutting my loss and fristration and throughing it away. Hopfuly the cables I spent hours pulling in the attic will work on a better system.

PIR sensors work optimally when the camera is mounted around looking down somewhat and the subject of detection passes across their front. The more the object must "cross" the front of the camera the better the detection reliability. When placing your camera try to avoid situations where the subject would move straight toward the camera if possible. You may need to experiment with the sensitivity settings in the app and camera placement to get the ideal setting.                         I bought this to replace an older 4 channel Swann...
                        I bought this to replace an older 4 channel Swann system that had quit working. Turns out the only thing wrong with the old system was the power supply to the camera’s was bad. That’s okay as the new system has a greater resolution and more features. I have no problems with the camera’s themselves but only gave four stars because of the software. I have not been able to share the viewing capabilities with my wife and daughters cell phone for some reason. Maybe I am missing something there but have not been able to make that work. Otherwise, installation was easy as all my cables were already in place in the attic and walls and just had to connect to the camera’s and DVR.
