I got this skimmer to use for my Koi ponds, a 500 gallon and a 300 gallon ponds. The net allows me to get trash out in tight spaces while the L on the end of the handle is used to pull pumps and or filters out of the ponds. It is well made and sturdy. I'm sure it would be great for cleaning out pool skimmers without having to put your hand in them avoiding snakes and other animal life.

This Skimmie skimmer net product is a cleverly designed item for your pool skimmer basket. It comes with two two elongated D shaped handles and hardware that you install on your skimmer basket. They are universal, so will attached to nearly any skimmer basket. The advantage of using these, is on the end of the Skimmie pole, there is a metal hook. You can use the hook to pull off the skimmer cover, then hook onto the handle you attached to lift the skimmer basket out. Then, you turn the pull the around and use the skimmer net to clean out the reservoir where the skimmer basket sits. The skimmer net fits easily in the space and is very easy to use. The pole is a nice length, but not too long. This is makes the Skimmie ideal for anyone who may have trouble bending down to clean out the skimmer basket. The pole is lightweight and easy to handle. The pole is also not so long where it becomes a challenge, to use in the skimmer area. it's just the right length. A nice bonus to using the Skimmie is that you can easily scoop up any leaves or debris that are floating on the pool's surface near the edge of the pool. Overall, the Skimmie is made with high quality materials and will seem to last a long time. The Skimmie has a QR code you can scan with your mobile device. Skimmer net/hook is very useful for southern pools. Always seem to have debris in pool which can be scooped out with net if you stay on top of it. However, most times skimmer baskets catch everything including toads, spiders, lizards, snakes...all critters you don't want to touch. Handles attach easily to skimmer baskets and with hook end you can easily lift basket out of drain and assess before reaching into or the handle to dispose of any waste. Takes the ickiness out of cleaning the debris baskets.

This is for people that are really lazy or can’t band down. There are few benefits for this skimmer. You don’t have to band down and put your hand into the water in order to pull the skimmer out. There is an attachment that come with it that you can attach to the skimmer and the back side of the net have a hock that you can pull the slimmer out. You know how somehow always there is lots of small leafs left behind in the skimmer, so with this small net you can pull them out. It’s also great to use for my hot tub.

THE SKIMMIE SKIMMER NET I got this to see if it would make cleaning out the skimmers easier and it works great all you have to do is attach the yellow handles to your skimmer baskets and then your ready to go. No more bending over to get the lid off the skimmer or reaching in the hole to get the basket or use your hand to get what wasn’t in the basket. All you have to do is use the hook to remove the lid then lift the basket using the same hook. I sit the basket down and flip the pole over to use the net to get any leaves and anything out without sticking my hand in the skimmer. Definitely recommend to anyone with a pool

I was so happy to finally find a skimmer hook to help me lift out the basket without me having to stick my hand down to retrieve the yuck out of the basket. Before this Skimmie skimmer net, I made the mistake one time finding my surprise snake. You talk about never wanting to clean the skimmer again, this product has taken away my fears. It is very easy to use and comes with a pole, hook and two separate handles that you can attach to your skimmer basket. The hook really helps me retrieve the basket with ease since I recently had knee surgery and can't bend down like I use to. It has solved that problem for me. The pole is perfect size and length to work and is made of metal. This is a great product to have for spa or pool owners.

The Skimmie Skimmer Net I got this little pool tool to spend less time on my knees cleaning out the deck skimmer. We are in Florida with an older pool and the deck is a poly pebble surface. Hard on the knees and bare feet. This allows me to do all the cleaning standing up. Great for avoiding the frogs and spiders. I actually found myself willing to check it more often. Great idea. My basket already had a crossbar in place so I opted not to use the provided bracket. If you have a pump with a big filter this should fit there as well. Nice addition to a well-maintained pool. No touching the dead frogs either.

Was looking for a small skimmer tool to grab stuff out of the pool close to the edge rather then grabbing the 20' extension pole all the time. This is exactly what we needed! It also allows you to grab the skimmer baskets out without bending down, using the hook to remove the cover and then grab the basket. The kit comes with two adapters to install in your current baskets. If you already have a hook or handle on the basket you may note even needs to install it. This product is great for small jobs only as the pole is fixed and less then 6' long, and the net is small, but that exactly what this product is for small jobs!

This Skimmie Skimmer Net set is a great idea for people like me who have a hard time kneeling down to clean their skimmer basket. With the included basket hook, you can open and clean your skimmer basket standing up. The key is a hook on the end of the pole that can not only open your skimmer top, but lift out your basket once the included hooks are attached. The hooks have a threaded boss which you attach with the included screws. It only takes 5 or 8 minutes. Once they are attached, you can use the hook on ghe end of your pole to lift the basket out of the skimmer hole for cleaning. The pole even has a small net that fits within your skimer basket to clean out light loads of debris that you may have. One problem I found was that our Kreepy Krauly uses a piston that attaches throgh our basket top that did not clear the yellow hook. Well, I am planning to replace our old Kreepy Kraully and maybe that won't be a problem with our new cleaner.

This review is for the Skimmie Skimmer Net, SKU # 60001 47950 8. Having owned and maintained my own pools for the last 12 years, this is a rather ingenious invention, especially for pool owners with back problems or the elderly where crawling around on your knees to clean a filter basket is hard to do. Installation was simple, two stainless screws into the bottom of your skimmer basket holds the yellow handle in place and the basket goes back into the skimmer. This comes with 2 handles, always nice to have a spare. When wanting to remove the basket, the hook grabbed my deck lid, I pulled it out and then I used the same end of the wand to hook onto the skimmer basket handle and lift it out. Once clean, you just reverse it and place the basket back into the skimmer. The wand is made of blue aluminum and measures about 56 inches long. A thick 1/4 stainless steel hook is on one end and the other end is a small 5x7 rectangular fine net that is used to remove debris from the skimmer basket. Someone's been thinking. This thing really works and I'd recommend it to anyone who is tired of crawling around on their knees to clean the skimmer basket, which in some back pool yards with trees and wind, could be a every day process. Well done.

I love this product! The skimmie skimmer is super sturdy and light, making it easy to clean out my skimmer basket without having to touch the basket directly. Cleaning the skimmer basket is now quick and easy! The hook at the end is a simple, but great feature that every skimmer might as well have. The only thing I would change about this product is that the pole should be able to separate from the skimmer head, so it can't be used with other heads if this one tears.

I jus had the chance to try out my new Skimmie Skimer set. It comes with a good assembly instructions. I think they could have been printed darker.installing the yellow loop handle was easy. Just 2 screws and you are ready to use. One end of the pole has a hook to pull up your basket and you can use it to also pull the cover from your pool skimmer. The other side there is mini net to scoop out any left over debris. Using this tool means no more bending down and also grabbing yucky stuff with your hands!

We have an above ground pool and we are always having to buy a new skimmer for the pool, they seem to rot from season to season. Getting a new one for free to try out was great. The skimmie is a lot smaller than we expected. I don’t know how easy it will be to use to get leaves out of the pool or to empty. Also the skimmer net came with additional parts which turned out to be to attach it to a deck, etc. We figured it out but it didn’t have instructions.

I have a bulky skimmer for my pool with a long handle. It makes it difficult to control around the deck. This tool is marvelous because it will pick up most anything floating on the water easily. I picked up bugs and leaves with no problem. The net is deeper than a normal skimmer therefore it holds the debris without losing it on the way out of the pool. It also woks to clear debris from the bottom of my above ground pool much easier than my bigger skimmer.

This is a neat little pool tool for my arsenal. It is light weight and is easy to use to clean out your skimmer basket.. It has a hook on one end and a small skimmer net on the other end. I use the hook to pull up the lid and then lift the basket out with the hook. I then flip the Skimmie around and skim the leaves and bugs still flowing in the skimmer. It comes with 2 yellow handles that you can attach to your basket, but mine has a handle attached to it that I hook the Skimmie too. A great product that saves my back and knees.

The skinny on the Skimmie The Skimmie skimmer net is a small pool skimmer net on a 4 foot sturdy lightweight pole. The hook on one end is perfect for removing the skimmer cover and the skimmer basket. The Skimmie comes with two skimmer basket handles that easily and securely attach to the skimmer basket, and then you can easily hook and lift the basket out of the skimmer. The net on the other end is about 6 inches long and 4 inches wide with ample net to scoop stuff out of your skimmer. Love the long pole, less stooping and bending to clean the skimmer. This is a great little skimmer net.

Well, the yellow attachments (has 2 in the set, with screws and washers) to the baskets proved to be useful. You screw them from the bottom, and can use your hand or rod to lift the basket up. The rod may not be needed at all unless you have a deep skimmer or back problems. Also the angled hook on the rod makes it difficult to open the skimmer covers as shown, because it becomes difficult to insert it to the cover hole. Overall it is good quality product. There is also a very small net on the other end of the rod, not sure what I can use it for as it is pretty small.

What a great concept! For anyone with aching back, crackly knees or any other of life’s ailments restricting picking up the pool’s strainer basket, this product is for you. I fit in a couple of the ailment categories and have found this tool to be well made with quality materials which should give it a long service life. The basket net is perfect for cleaning out the skimmer but can also be used to quickly clean out leaves/debris from the pool or the spa. A couple of points to be aware of – 1) Included are two handles meant to be attached inside the skimmer basket. Ideally, it is best to center the handle in the basket bottom but for those baskets that have weight pucks in the center (such as mine as shown in the pictures) it works fine offsetting the handle to the side of the weight. Another very nice surprise was that my suction powered pool vacuum works just fine with plenty of clearance between the suction plate and the top of the handle – see pictures. Overall, I’m very happy with this product.

I clean pools. I loved this so much I bought a second one in case I loose one. Cleaning skimmer baskets and ports are so easy now. Saves my back. I won't clean pools without it now.

If you have a pool you’ll want one of these. The regular handles with skimmer baskets are pretty useless and break fast. Nobody wants to stick their paw down in the return keep to pull up a basket full of creepy crawly and possibly dangerous critters. We’ve had copperheads in the basket! This Skimmie solves the problem. It’s well made. The hook end is handy for lifting out the lid and pulling up the basket. The basket handle screws to the bottom of the basket us in stainless steel screws and the placement in the center keeps the basket from getting stuck on the sides of the skimmer. The net end is the right size and is conveniently handh to scoop out floating stuff before it gets sucked down the return.

Wow! What a great tool! No longer do I need to stick my hand into the skimmer hole with dead mice and live spiders to grab the handle! Heck, once I lifted the lid and there was a snake! Also it is great to use the net to clean out the excess debris.

This item worked perfectly for my 80 year old Mother-in-law. She wants to maintain her pool on her own as much as possible. This item helps her empty her scupper baskets easily!!

Great for cleaning out extra trash in skimmer and quick pickups in pool. Only reason not 5 star is our skimmer top is concrete and hook did not work as well as we had hoped.

Love being able to lift the basket out of the skimmer without getting down on my knees. The Net at the other end is very helpful cleaning out any extra debris in the area of the skimmer once the basket has been lifted out.

Convenient for quick skimming of leaves in pool. no bending or stooping to remove the skimmer basket. Small net makes cleaning out of left over debris floating in the skimmer after removing the basket. This is nice convenient tool.

It broke within a month. Don't waste your money
