My husband was able to install it after our attic...
My husband was able to install it after our attic insulation installation was complete with just a staple gun. We had issues with condensation on the attic stair door but not since installing this item.

Was easy to install, and was pleased to get the attic cover in a reasonable amount of time so that it could be installed before heading out of town when cold weather was in the forecast. So far the zippers are easy to work. Unknown is the amount of energy savings, but I'm sure it is favorable.

Great price, easy instal.
Used the attic a few times since install - the materials and zip seem quite sturdy.
Wish I had put it in years ago - there was a noticeable draft that this product has resolved.

What straps? It is a thin 'box like' cover. Unless you have a 'box like' frame surrounding your pull down opening, it acts more like a blanket. There is no way of knowing whether or not it stays in lace when the steps are put up.
Can't recommend OR can't not recommend this product.

It was exactly what I wanted and expected. It fit perfectly around the opening. Immediately, you can feel the differences. Made entry into the attic very accessible. Kept the cold attic air from seeping into the house. Did have to apply foam sealant around the outside the insulation to ensure a tight seal. Will order another one to install in my other attic drop door.

This is the perfect remedy to stop heat loss into the attic and hopefully stop ice from building up around the gutters. We went into Youtube.com and watched a video which made it easy to install. Minutes after it was installed, and before we folded the stairs back up, the room immediately started warming up. Hate to think about all the money we've spent over the years having the heat escape through the attic.

Attic Stair cover
Easy to install but since I didn't have a stapler I screwed 1 1/2" wide wood strips on all four sides. The zippers look sturdy enough for my once a month access. Summer/winter could feel hot/cold air leaking through before installation. It is fall and temp hasn't been excessive enough to test cover's effectiveness.

Definitely recommend the ThermoClimb attic stair cover. It was very easy to install. We noticed the attic draft stopped immediately after the cover was in place. It may or may not help with the electric bill this winter, but already the room feels more comfortable. Good solution.

You can still see light through the closed zipper, so it is not a true air barrier; however, it did fit well and helps insulate the pull down stairs as promised. If I had it to do over again, I would have opted for a box style insulator with a gasket on the bottom to truly prevent air leakage into the attic and a higher overall R-value for the insulation. For now, i'm going to increase the R-value by pulling batt R-30 over top as I'm closing it.

Great Attic Door Cover
This works great to seal our attic door. It was a bit tricky to install since the door opening wasn't uniform. So, the sides of the frame had tiny gaps that made it tough to fit properly. I just had to do my best to fit it with staples and weatherstrip. Caulk is likely better but I won't bother until it is much cooler.
In the end this removed the stench of attic air and likely decreased the cooling costs a bit which is a plus.

We installed this on our access attic door entry and it could not have been easier. The difference it makes with the heat coming through the door is unbelievable. I wish I known about this product years ago.

Easy Installation
Very easy to install with two people, one holding and the other doing the staples. Took my son and I longer to clean-up the fiberglass insulation on the attic pull-down stairs than to install. I measured for the exact opening size and the fit was perfect. Good quality, good value. I recommend this product.

Makes a Noticeable Difference
I bought the Attic Stair Cover as the attic door in our home is located near the register return. Our house is an older home and the attic door is not insulated. The day installed this attic stair cover I could tell an immediate difference. It has been one of the best things I've done for home improvement. I should have done this long before now.

Must-have for your attic!
easy to install, effective, not that expensive (plus I'm sure it'll pay for itself within a year or three). adds comfort to top floor (especially the bedroom where the attic stairs are). i haven't gone in/out that much so i can't speak to the longevity of the bag or it's zipper, but it seems pretty decent in quality.

Attic door insulator, worth getting.
There is really not much to the install. Only thing would of been a recommendation on what would be the best way to install the product. It actually works, I don't get a draft down my hallway any more.

Energy saver
It would have been better if it had grommets to aid in installation. If using staples, it is okay as is; but I prefer screws to make it easier to remove if the need arose. To do that, I had to put in grommets in order to keep screws from twisting in fabric.

VERY disappointing
This item does not work for me. I have a standard attic stairway that pulls down, but HEAT exudes from it. This product has not blocked it at all. Even my contractor is perplexed. Big disappointment. Also, NO directions are included.

Much like your contractor, we are perplexed as well. The thermal insulation properties of ThermoClimb should prevent most hot or cold air from moving through your attic opening. We recommend that you use silicone sealant before you staple or screw the ThermoClimb onto your attic frame.
